I just recently started using downloads with 4.1, have had it on IPS 3 for a while. There are a few things that I think would make it a little more robust: 1. Allow screenshot edits without adding a new file version. 2. Ability to completely shut off file versioning and go back and remove per record in edit mode. 3. Ability to remove moderator group from file approvals, have a permission setting. 4. Ability to change default "no screenshot uploaded" image in settings and add multiple default screenshots per file type; .pdf, .word, image, etc. 5. Edit details should have the file(s), screenshots, links and all content associated with the upload. To change the …

When one adds a new version of a file to a Downloads entry the version number and changes are displayed clearly enough in the information window, but when one clicks the Download button it would be nice to list the version numbers beside the download options, just so that users can be sure which version they're downloading.

Screenr was retired 13 months ago. I assume this was an oversight but still... nobody looked at the website? Or is it a typing error on their site and they actually closed down after the update they were listed in?

Hi, is it possible to change crontab validation from is_executable to is_readable, in file "applications/core/modules/admin/settings/advanced.php:338" ? reason: we have mounted disk with flag "noexec", so executable always returned "false".. (also it is not needed, because task script is executed thru /usr/bin/php .. thx Jan

Heyo. After block user (ban) he still has the same group. It would be nice to select specific group in Actions Settings and auto move users. What do you think? ACP -> Members -> Warnings -> Actions

Can we have a TLD that does not exist allowed with the use of a testinstall key? E.g. allow anything.dev or anything.local instead of just localhost (if the test install key is valid). I use vagrant/virtualbox alot for development and would like to use it for IPS too. While it may be possible to do some work-arounds to get it working atm., I really feel like this should work without additional work (not sure how far I am allowed to go without breaking terms either). I can't imagine that I am the only one who uses this kind of setup for development. This is how I work on all of my projects except for IPS due this limitation. I cannot see any drawbacks f…

This theme builder is a really cool concept, especially for those with limited time or less experience. It's for Wordpress but it would be brilliant if IPS had the same easier methods in principle. Love the way you can just grab and drag to resize the header or a div, and click on elements to recolour or rename them. I have just come across a problem for my site. I have multiple pages that have been created over time. Now I created a new user group and they have no permissions to any of those pages. When I create the user group you have no ability to select permissions to inherit. Can we get the ability to assign permissions to pages in some way that leaves the use of pages somewhat appealing? At present I will have to set permissions on over 300 pages, one at a time. I can do this though: Provide each member of my new user group a second permission group that already has access to previously existing pages, but that seems like putting a band aide…

Hi there, because of a serious illness in the middle of the year, i had no time to manage all my Websites... Because of some announcements i changed the Software to an other vendor for some of my sites (not all) and thought, it was a good idea... I LOVE this option and will be using it as we a need for it in my community. I have one idea/request for this feature. Could you add a check box to send a notification to the member who posted it so that they don't miss it or go crazy trying to figure out why they don't remember starting the new topic? That would make it perfect!

In gallery there used to be an option that required members to upload images to a personally made album only and I believe this one was forgotten. I have a few categories that I want only collections of images added to them via an album and allowing direct uploads sort of confuses people. Thank you.

Hello, Unless I'm missing something, there seems to be no way to order Announcements if you have more than one displaying at the same time: they display in descending order. Would it be too complicated to offer a sort option where the most recent Announcement could appear at the top (i.e. Admin-determined order)?

I am militant about keeping all of our threads organized - I have each one indexed. Often, someone will start a new thread, and I'll open it, only to realize that I then must spend the next several minutes putting it in our index. Within the past few years, most email systems have installed a feature like, "Mark Email as Unread," and it would be a wonderful thing (for me, anyway) to have that same feature for Admins, who open threads, and then regret that they opened them. I've asked before but the thread got filled up with the submit a ticket responses, only to hear that the software is working as designed. To prevent mistakes, users should be soft deleted by a flag in the database instead of removing all of their content from the tables. That way it would be possible to undo the action and bring the user back. Spam accounts should still have the option to be hard deleted.

Hi, Ability to send out bulk emails is a handy feature, but oftentimes it would be far more convenient to send out "mass alerts". Essentially, a brief text alert that can link the recipient to something custom. In my case, I often post "announcements" on my forums, and I would much rather inform my users about them via a forum alert than via an email. I've noticed that while you don't have this feature, at least one other major forum software does, and I think it would be an excellent and warranted feature for IPBoards.

There should be a setting which allows administrators to limit the number of files a member can upload at one time. Members go to submit a file > select category > then members are prompted to Drag and drop your files here, or Choose Files. It is at this point some members are uploading hundreds of files. It seems like there should be a way to limit the number of files a member can upload. The file size can be limited but the number of files can't.

now the user can just hold down f5 to get more views, it doesnt check for uniqueness or anything.. would be nice with unique profile views, so you can only count 1 profile view every 30-60 min?

When viewing the popular content section of the leaderboard, clicking the title of the most liked post to be taken to the first post of the entire topic makes little sense, I know if you click on "a post in the topic" or the time below it will take you to the post but I've only had it up half hour and a couple of members have mentioned it. The topic title should take you straight to that post.
