The longest awaited iPhone feature is almost here, native iOS notifications, and we couldn't wait to ensure it is enabled for your Invision Community. Invision Community 4.7.9 is iPhone push notification ready for when Apple release their latest iOS update later this month. This means you'll finally get notifications on your phone, even when you do not have your browser open, to alert you of new content on followed items and more. A feature Android owners have enjoyed for a while. With notifications, you can have an authentic native app experience with built-in Invision Community features such as the manifest editor. The manifest editor allows you to …

Happy Hump Day. Identifying what members are frequently searching for is an important job for community managers. Built directly into the statistics panel of your ACP is a section that includes the most-searched-for keywords. Understanding what people search for helps you: Improve upon those items Create more content around the term(s) Provide further clarity for people who search for the word or phrase in the future Because of the importance of search, we made some major improvements! You may have noticed Invision Community introduced an update to our Search Bar user interface. @AlexJ certainly did 😜. Previously, the …

Welcome to this week's Invision Insight! I'm keeping things short and sweet this week! The majority of our work has been on getting Live Topics closer to a beta release. We are very excited about this feature and can't wait to share it with you! If you haven't done so already, please check out our sneak peek. Patches I have noticed some discussions lately regarding patches, and in some instances, they may be missed by community managers. Not all patches seem to be a critical issue or security risk, but it is definitely ideal to action the patch to ensure your community continues running smoothly. There are no notifications for patches at t…

Happy Hump Day, team! Sort of. 😔 One of Invision Community's founding fathers, @Rikki, is amicably moving on from Invision Community to pursue another exciting opportunity. This is his last week with us. He has a few parting words to share with you: Rikki has been an instrumental player in Invision Community's success; we're bummed to see him go, but at the same time excited for him to spread his wings. Please leave some well wishes for Rikki in the comments! --- Speaking of the team, @Matt Finger wrote a new dev blog post touching on the PHP8 Compatibility Scanner, our Pre-Upgrade Resource Checker and a full change log for our upcomi…

Welcome to this week's Invision Insight! The Team have been hard at work finishing up the Gallery refresh, which is now available for testing (more on this later). I am in the process of drafting up a new edition of community tips; publishing date yet to be confirmed. I do hope these are helpful not only to those communities that are starting out, but also to the larger and more established communities out there that are looking for ways to adapt and grow. If you haven't yet read the blog entry, I have linked to it below. If you have something you would like me to write about specifically or have subject matter you'd like me to talk about, then by all means let …

Welcome to this year's first Invision Insight! And welcome to 2023 everyone! 🎉 After a very busy 2022, we have so much more coming to you this year! There has been so much work happening behind the scenes and I can't wait to share some of it with you in this edition. For those keen eyes, we would like to introduce a new forum in our community called Invision Insider. In an effort to keep our clients more informed on everything Invision Community, we thought it a great idea to provide a central place for all news and updates including Invision Insights, beta announcements and release webinars. You may recognise the majority of topics already in this forum, but as…

Welcome to this week's Invision Insight! Whilst the weather gets warmer Down Under and colder to those in the northern hemisphere, we are nearing the end of our 20th year of Invision Community! So much has been achieved through the years and 2022 specifically is no exception. I felt it couldn't be a better time to approach our team to participate in this week's Invision Insight. I'll share their take below. Before we get to that though, if you didn't get a chance to attend yesterday's Content Curation event, don't fret! You can watch the video and discuss your thoughts below. Invision Community Team Insight During the week I took it upon m…

Welcome to this week's Invision Insight! Well doesn't time just fly by?! We are a little over two weeks away from Christmas and well into the holiday season! I hope everyone's got their presents ready or at least has an idea of what to buy for their loved ones. I'm a last-minute man so I have so much time left before joining the crowds... 😅 For those following the World Cup ⚽, despite Australia being knocked out of the tournament by Argentina, my equally supported team from my roots, Portugal, has made it through to the quarterfinals! 🎉 I would love to hear what you are up to and are most excited about this time of year. To keep you in the loop with In…

Welcome to this week's Invision Insight! We are getting so close to the silly season and whilst things may be slowing down for 2022, we are so excited for what is to come in 2023! I am really enjoying the engagement from everyone lately and I want to take this opportunity to give you some confidence or relief, whichever is more relevant. Any feature suggestions, bug fixes or reports are all actively read and reviewed, and whilst I cannot promise every single thing will be implemented, it is definitely noticed and appreciated by the team. I thought it a good idea to address this having seen a few comments on Invision Community regarding not getting an answer to y…

Happy Hump Day! Sort of… I have a bit of news to share with you: this will be my last Hump Day as I am stepping down from Invision Community. 😢 I am transitioning to a new role at Amazon. I’ll be creating content and engagement solutions for AWS. I’d like to take a moment to thank this community for welcoming me with open arms. When I first started my journey as an Invision Community team member, I focused on community advocacy and connecting clients with the team. We quickly realized my, um... exuberance was better suited in marketing and sales. Creating content around Invision Community opened my eyes even further to how brilliantly crafted this …

In Invision Community's November Release Live Webinar, we discuss a few key features included in the next platform update. @Charles gave us a review of some new moderation actions and more additions to our Events App. We also covered the switch to PHP8 that is effective with this release. Also, thank you David for your question! We are excited to bring the functionality for "paid events" to the Events App. This is in the early planning stages but we are happy to tease such a wonderful addition since it is "in the works". 🎉 Do you have a question about the November 2022 release? Feel free to ask in this topic. Did you …

Invision Community is growing! We are excited to welcome a new team member to our Customer Service team so we can better serve you! Please help me welcome …🥁… @Gary! Gary has been a long-time fan and user of Invision Community. We are excited to have his experience and fresh perspective on our team. This is what he had to say… Share with us why you wanted to join the Invision Community team. I have been a huge fan of forum software and creating websites in general for so many years and stumbled upon Invision Power Board whilst I was still in high school (circa 2004-2005). The first forum I created was on Invisionfree (that brin…
