Our long overdue website refresh is now live!

CleanShot 2026-04-15 at 11.15.10@2x.webp

Invision Community 5 was released well over a year ago and our website was still focused around v4 and its features instead of talking about the benefits of the Invision Community platform.

It also did not promote what we're doing very well.

We're fortunate to work with brands of all sizes, alongside passionate independent community owners and we're trusted to help guide strategy and develop features inline with the needs of communities at scale.

Beyond that, some of the most exciting work we're doing for enterprise clients has the forum element as one part of the bigger picture. Some are building the community around events, others content and one around a creator/influencer portal.

Our strength is how much functionality you get in the box, how extensible it is, and our in-house talent.

Our headline of "Community at our core, built for so much more" is something we'll lean into as the website matures. We feel that we are uniquely positioned to build a multitude of experiences around community because our platform is much more than a forum system.

We'll be moving the community navigation into the community area, I know accessing streams is a bit cumbersome right now with it being in the main navigation.

We'd love to hear your feedback and any issues you come across.

The only modifications we have here are some internal tools that the team uses (and even those are being gradually phased out and replaced with native alternatives). Everything else is done using vani

  • There are pros and cons. I feel that feedback is slightly different between client cohorts but we will monitor and if it feels like a single shared area is a better fit then we can merge them back int

Well done. I also like the clean navigation.

I like it... a lot.

Hopefully this is all part of an upcoming release you mentioned.

Is all the documentation gone!??! eeep!

Please tell me there is a way to access it still.

Probably a permission problem, as it appears empty (not missing) for us.

At least I am not the only one that forgets the odd pages permission 😂

Excellent upgrade. Looks very smart and very easy to read. I know classic is not at the forefront. But, you wouldn't know you offer it until you're right at the footer.

As you may have noticed, we've had a shuffle around on the community.

There is a clearer separation between Invision Community Classic and the Invision Community Cloud areas, with a shared area here.

This change allows both sets of clients to discuss things that matter to them without confusion over which version of Invision Community the conversation starter is using. It's natural that Invision Community Classic owners who are responsible for their servers have a different set of needs than someone using our platform who wishes to get more configuration advice and general guidance.

If you own both products, then feel free to post in the area that is relevant to the needs of that community.

only thing i find not right is I have to 3-clicks to get to the community from the front page. like surely this should be available without going through a menu??

Can the user header element please be placed next to the search on the right?

I think some of the graphics could be themed around the dark mode, rather than bright white. It takes some of the contrast, and makes it a little harder to take in at first glance. Some of the images are nicely themed in, but others not so much.

Ehren is doing a top job, as is everyone else behind Invision.

Greta job on the refresh it look good :)

Can you provide the link to the Lego Invision forum as a reference? I cannot find it

First, I like the new look which is by far more v5 than the old one 🙂

I understand the separation of the support forums for Cloud/Clasic. But why did you split the Feedback forum? We should post suggestions for improvements and new features there and I think both would benefit from having access and discuss suggestions for new features / improvements, don't you think?

hope this is not phasing by splitting it out. calling it classic already wrings alarm bells and makes me twitchy

It's called Classic for a very long time now. This isn't something new.

The classic label refers to the style of licensing and has been so for a good few years.

Segmenting client cohorts makes sense given how we have a sizeable group of customers that have never had the on-premises version and this is growing faster than the licensed customers.

We’re not trying to phase anyone out, it’s just a necessary move to reduce confusion across the community.

It depends. 🤔

Community in the context of supporting a product, such as this one, is a resource that doesn’t need to be a top level item.

But we may change some of the navigation around as we settle in with it.

There a fair few improvements to be made with community navigation and the user icons. It’ll take a few days to get to it.

I wish the “Free Trial” button would switch to “Client Area” once you’re logged in or once you own a product. It’s a small detail, but it feels unintuitive that the only real confirmation you’re logged in is inside the community itself. Having that top‑level indicator would make the whole experience feel more cohesive.

I’m also hoping some of the new homepage blocks and layout elements eventually make their way into Pages. One of the biggest strengths of Invision is that it’s an all‑in‑one platform capable of powering the entire website, but right now, a lot of what’s shown on the main site can’t be recreated without heavy customization. This is a minor thing and more of just constructive criticism. Plus, more Pages features are always a perk.

Overall, the redesign looks great. I’d just love to see the client area get a visual refresh to match the new style, and I agree that the forum could be a bit more prominent. The community side of Invision Community is a huge part of what sets it apart from other platforms; it wouldn’t hurt to showcase that strength a little more.

Yeah good idea, I'll sort that. The native menu manager can handle that as it can show/hide based on permissions.

I see that the faux search box is still a thing

what's the reasoning behind using that rather than say a more suited icon?

Does the new site all run on a straight IPBv5 install or is it heavily modded?

I am just thinking, like the docs section, a heres how we did this would be very welcome much like the older v4 software updates section.

Really a bit of a "how we did this" would be great esp the documentation section with some example templates.

I have always felt that pages as an app needs a lot of examples to get people going with it better as its very powerful.
