So... I want to display one page layout on my home page to guests, and another totally different one to non-guests (probably HeadStand's Social Stream if I buy it). I know you can use the HTML logic to do that with certain blocks, but how could I do that with entire page layouts? Guests would just see a big introduction post, and then non-guests would see the Social Stream with some other blocks on the sidebar. Is this possible, or?

I have a lot of users chatting - and used to oldschool IRC commands in the chat. The command /me is often used - and supported by IPS chat. Why not have the humourous (copied from wikipedia) /slap Sam which would trigger the chat room to announce something along the lines of: Steve slaps Sam around a bit with a large trout

So right now I'm using the plugin "Header Images" by IPS themes It's a great plugin, but I'm not able to add an S to the image link and it's messing up my sites SSL So i'm going to just disable it and do normal CSS to add the background image Couple of questions: The plugin made me upload the image, so I'm assuming it uploaded it to my sites main image upload directory - where exactly is this folder so I can pull the URL of the image to use in the CSS? And what is the exact CSS with image URL that I need to use for it to work inside of IP4? Thank you!

So I have a bunch of images pinned in a certain order. That order is important for me. The idea was, upload the images first (think of wanting to display the first steps of my child from age 1 to 2 in chronological order), which isn't so easy as the gallery software manages to mix up the order itself every so now and then when you upload, and later modify the accompanying text per image. But when doing so (modifying the text) the image that's being modified moves to the top. Nothing sticks, so what's the point of pinning images? Or am I getting this wrong? And pinning has a whole other purpose then what I thought it has?

Guests suddenly had complete access to our site, including the ability to post on the forum. I checked the admin logs and nobody has changed the permissions for the group. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

On my forum, we have an "Ask A Mod" section where users can post questions/concerns for the moderation team. Users are only able to see their own posts ("Users can see topics posted by other users?" is toggled off) for privacy and relative anonymity. However, users have noticed that posts made in this subforum are showing up on the activity feed, thus allowing every user to see a preview of every post made. Clicking on the topic takes users to the permissions error page, so they can't read the full post, but it's still an issue that they are able to see the beginning of each post. Upgraded to latest version of IP.Powerboard and IP.Gallery. Forum is working okay yet no gallery images are being displayed. The reason? The upgrade process borked up image url paths. Example: The img src url has my domain listed twice in every photo/video and they do not obviously display. Yes, I have rebuilt the cache. Any ideas? At some point I changed permissions on my articles page while I was awaiting approval to use them. Everything is good now with using the articles, but I can't seem to find the right area to re-adjust the permissions so browsing guests are able to view them as well - I looked every and found a few areas to change them, but all seem to be set accordingly, yet the articles page is completely blank when browsing as a guest? https://www.ohiocannabis.com/articles/ Thanks.

I have made a small script that creates some "sql queries" to convert your database from utf8 to utf8mb4. THIS IS A TEST-SCRIPT <USE ONLY ON A TEST-BOARD> USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! 1. Some of our users are suddenly reporting that icons are missing. We've noted that ad blockers are sometimes the source of this (for instance, that which ships with iOS) but this is new. In Chrome OSX, here is the error from the console a user reported: Any ideas why this would be? It doesn't affect Chrome on either Win 7 or Android for me. I've asked users to try incognito mode or equivalent to ensure content isn't blocked, but this doesn't help. It affects both our parent skin and 2 child skins. Hey Guys, Does anyone know of any plugins that allow quick editting of topic titles from the forum interface and quick edit from the post interface without the need to enter the first post? This was a prominent feature in IPB3.x and feels like a massive missing feature, however I simply cant seem to find the plugin that would fill this gap if it exists. Thanks for your help!

Hi all, I've been trying to enable the URL rewrite in my 4.1.10 IPS in order to have a smartphone app developed via REST-API. I'm downloading the .htaccess file from my adminCP and place it in the root folder of the forum (/var/www/<mydomain.ext>/vwforum/). Hi all, i'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this question? I'm unsure on how to set-up/handle the automatic emails that my forum sends out. At the moment I am set-up and running and it is using the personal email address that I registered with. I will change this to be a generic forum one, but before getting into that I wanted to now if there are things that I should/shouldn't do? Is there anywhere that I can read some info on this?
