It is, no lie, a giant pain in the ass to format/theme the search box. This attached controller handles the population and submission of the filtering elements and that is great and all but the same controller also fades and hides the filter box and other junk. You can CSS around some of it but without disabling the controller entirely some fade elements will still fire leading to bits fading out and immediately reappearing. If this was just a .js file that contained nothing but theme elements it would be fine under the IPS terms and conditions to rip it apart and so on but this is a full-on js controller so I can't hack at it and package it up with a theme without violat…

IPS 3.4 has an option to deliver JS directly from google. IPS 4 does not have this option. Please, bring the canonical JS back for the most common JS files for our communities to take the advantage of the visitor's browser cache. https://developers.google.com/speed/libraries/

i have no idea why there arent. having several widgets such as speciic announcements that are for members only and not for guests so it shows inappropriate information to guest. you give us less ability to control what guest can see which is important for first time visitors to give them a good impression and having too many widgets that are member oriented information isnt helping them to stay

Was asked per ticket 923623 to post a feedback forum topic. This worked fine in 3.x until 4.x , I could always just edit the redirect via SQL, but why should I have to do that? The links still work in its current state, but I wanted to update the description. In 3.4.x (and previous versions) I was able to make Group Icons specific to the skin I was using by putting this in the field: public/style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/team_icons/nameoficon.png I had a number of skins and found this really useful. I would imagine it would be useful to those who produce themes for the suite as well. Is there a way of doing this in 4.0.x or could you make it so please?

If I do not add the attachment to the post, and save, it is not displaying as a thumb at the bottom like in 3.4. Is this correct or a bug? I can see a lot of unused attachments taking up space. Does an orphan task take care of these?

The tag system in IPS 4 is really nice, but I would like to be have full control of the tag system per-section. Right now we can only set the list of allowed tags/if tags are enabled per section, but I would like to have the full set of controls for each forum/section/database! Also (semi-related), a way to only use prefixes (perhaps a setting to auto-prefix the first tag?) would be appreciated. Lets have an example. I want to allow free and unlimited tagging on most of my site, but in the Q&A section, I want to allow one tag from the preset list, and have it be the prefix. I have a custom database for flash games and I would like to change "x views" to "x plays" (content_records_stat_num_views). Currently there is no option to edit this text per-database. I propose this be added to the Database Settings > Language page so it can be edited on a per-database basis. Other things that could be made editable per-database are the other two "stats" strings, "x reviews" and "x comments". Thanks

Hello, Since upgrading, almost all of my members are panicking "what happened to all of our emoticons", because no one realizes via the emoticon icon in the editor only some are shown and the rest are accessible via "Categories". Can the layout be changed to more obviously include a link to "view all emoticons" or change back to the old behavior where all were shown? I think this is very confusing for users. The software has included a lot more user friendly changes, but this one is taking a step backward for sure. Thanks!

If a content item is locked for editing (or item is locked), do not allow that attachment to be removed. Please show an error in attachment management that the content item is locked and it cannot be removed. When an item is locked nothing should be able to be edited or removed and that includes attachments. Or at least a setting for admins, that would be great. Thank you.

I'd really like to see a more prominent new reply indicator. There's currently a dark blue line above the first new post in a topic, I think some text should be placed beside it saying "new post" or make it stand out more somehow (I don't have a great suggestion for change - but Rikki is creative! ). I've had some members express they're not sure which posts are new or not anymore.

On this site, when you go to the featured content panel it does the following for me. Chrome, Win 7 1. Click on the right arrow, it advances. 2. Click on the right arrow on second pane, it does not advance 3. Click on the left arrow for the second pane, it now advances to the third pane. Clearly this is a critical, show stopping bug and a dark portent of doom for the coming days of our grim bleak future....

ive been asking many times over 3 years for ips to expand ipdownloads feature but all replies ends with "its not in our plan to develope such feature" the thing is that some ips customers utilize ipdownload with big files and in my case i have 2x2TB hdd but the issue here is that my 1st hdd runs out of hdd space while my second hdd got 1.8TB free space, practically unused. Is it it so difficult to allow customers to add a secondary storage path and let customers set a default storagepath this way old files can be stored in 1st hdd and still be able to download while the default storage path will be the path for users to upload new files on? its also bad that users can sti…

We just upgraded to IPB 4 and the early feedback is positive. We did get a few users that said the mobile skin was hard to read. One guy is a UI Designer and he gave this feedback which we wanted to pass along. Can the post count, join date etc be removed when someone is viewing on mobile? Thanks.

I guess I read the posts by others with little regard, but now that it affects me... I object to you displaying a notice at the top of my forum that my license is expired. I know regular users can't see this, but it's really tacky that the admins / mods can. Why am I no longer a client? I'm no longer a paying client, but I am still a client. No more + for me. I understand I can't have access to privileged areas, that's OK. I'd remain a paying client if there were releases that didn't make things worse each time only to be followed quickly with patches and minor releases to fix the new problems that were released. Show that the message has been edited box is checkmarked by default if you edit YOUR OWN post. I have a couple of issues with that. Two things my members are missing and still get questions about very often over 1 month after the upgrade, is that they miss the My content link/function from 3.4. My activity is not a replacement for that. So they now have to use my content and filters to get the same functionality. That is not a good solution because they have to go back and forth. Also the preview post button we want back. Many members post up to hundred of images using example a url list from photobucket and the preview image function does not work then. To add the pictures one by one using the other media button takes to long time.

Hello, as most of us know, to let a link to an external site open in the same window where the user is browsing our site is bad SEO practice, couldn't a target="_blank" be put in the editor Link code? I don't know if it's possible to recognize between external sites' links and ours, but that would be a great addition to IPS4.

Switching to Redactor is quite an undertaking, however I would like to see it replace CKEditor in the (near) future. No, I really appreciate the work that was done to implement CKEditor into 4.0 but I feel that Redactor is better than CKEditor. Maybe I am wrong. There was a discussion on this on the IPS4 Preview Board, so I figured I put this as a suggestion here.

I really need this option back again. It was present in 3.4.7 - where I can hide some forums from search results, make them non searchable and not appearing in the New Content section. The use case is that my community is focused in one direction and then we have few forums that are not so important for most of the members of the community but very active for different reasons. Most people of the community do not care and do not want to see many posts/topics daily in these non important forums. I use widgets to hide such posts/topics, but still they appear in the New Content section and flood the community. And I do not want to fully close/delete these forums, I just want…
