Hello everyone, I'm very happy to be here! I am looking to accomplish a few things, and I am going to try and be as clear and complete as possible with my goals. Hi, My forums is been working fine, all of the sudden it has this error. An error occurred (500 Error) We're sorry, but a temporary technical error has occurred which means we cannot display this site right now. You can try again by clicking the button below, or try again later. I believe the Invision Power Team know this problem is common. Any idea how to fix this? please help me. My forums is very active and it is currently inaccessible to the public. Also, version of my board is not the latest. I don't know how to upgrade since doing an upgrade will not work. But that will be another problem.

Hi, Is there a way to display the number of unread posts per topic in the Unread Content stream (in addition to the total number of posts)? We have users who want to "save up" the topics with a lot of unread content until a time where they can read all of it.

Hi folks, on our test forums I turned on "Post Before Registering". I see the editor window as a guest on that testbed and can enter a user name and the post text. So far so good, but after submitting the post I am not presented the registration form and the post is shown posted as "Guest user name". Please note that I don't have post as guest allowed at that forums permissions level. Is there a setting I am missing? I used this doc: And this one: Thanks, Thomas

Hi, Last night, I got smacked in the ACP with this error. Earlier tonight, I decided to just select the "run automatically with traffic" option in the screenshot below and see if that would somehow help So I did that, but we're currently using the Pages app as a library for fiction submissions (it's a writing forum) and when I go to any of the submissions currently in the library, it gives this error: I'm guessing that it's because of having selected the "run automatically" option - I think it says something about how it can take a while to actually take effect or something, but I want to make sure that that's actually the case and no…

The content of some variables handled by the editor, "https:" has been omitted. I mean: "var CKEDITOR_BASEPATH" and some of the variables in "var ipsSettings". Apparently this is what is causing the browser to treat links as mixed content when the secure linked page is in the same domain but outside the community. Any ideas? Thanks

I have a "Location" profile field (city and state) that is required at registration and some users have been changing it after being approved which I don't want. I also need as admin to be able to edit this field if I feel necessary to do so. How do I accomplish this? I have set the "Can edit" to off in the ACP member profiles but it then does not show for me either to be able to edit it? This is for 4.3 Thanks for any help

Is it just nothing more straightforward than a .htaccess redirect? If so, fine, I can do that myself. But I'm curious about whether it's achieved otherwise, say by a line of code on the page itself. If it is, what would such code look like?

I'm doing a help section using Pages on one of my sites. One part of it will be: Policies - Guidelines - Privacy - ... Rather than have to paste in the content of my guidelines and privacy policy and then have to manually update the record, I thought it would be easier to use some sort of tag. My limited knowledge of PHP and a bit of familiarity with IC are suggesting to me that file_get_contents('{setting="base_url"}app=core&module=system&controller=privacy') might be a good start but I'm afraid that I'm a bit lost from there. What would the record need to have as its content in order to embed the content of the /privacy into it?

Hi there - quick question. I am launching memberships for my website via Member Press x WordPress soon. I'd love to integrate my forums somehow with Wordpress SSO, but it appears it would only work for *new* registrations versus the thousands of members that are already active and registered? Am I mistaken? I'd like for when someone signs up for our membership through MemberPress, then their forums account will also be upgraded (they will be placed in their own special group). If they decide to cancel their subscription, then their forums account will also be downgraded. When they register via Wordpress, how will it know to log them into the forums …

The upgrade to version 4 a few years ago left me in a bad situation: I had been running IP.Board 3 for many years and have made a lot of customizations to it. Unfortunately this meant that upgrading to version 4 would have been a huge effort. There are so many backwards-incompatible changes between v3 and v4 that I would have to rewrite many things from scratch. My forums are just a small side project at this point so I cannot justify the time investment required to do this.
