Hello support, I've already posted that question at the clients area but they told me it's better doing it here. Next week I'll do another try to convert my vb to ipb4. At the end of every conversion process I had to set all the permissions for the different forums and user groups. Due to the fact that we have over 120 forums and 25 usergroups it was always a lot of work to set the permissions. Some forums and usergroups have the same permissions. Can I speed that up to copy rights from one forum/usergroup to the other or is there no built in feature to do that like we had in vbulletin? Thanks in advance for a feedback.

If I require guests to login before they can see content , then i lose the social links. Social links are extremely important at this time , so how do i get people to register and not just surf my site and keep the social links. Why would they register if all the content is available, I really need to find a solution by preventing people from watching content without registering , but also keeping the social links please

I don't seem to be receiving registration emails or message via the Contact Us feature since I upgraded to 4.0.10.2. New users are also not receiving confirmation emails when they sign up to validate their account. What is the solution here?

I upgraded the board to the latest version yesterday but may have missed this 'fault' I don't know if Im missing something simple or it is a bug. When anyone tries to upload an image from a url nothing happens apart from the spinning circle, it was working fine before the update. However, I do have this in the acp and I don't know if this is related to the above:- The following tasks appear to be locking frequently: rssimport. Please run them manually. If you require assistance with any errors shown please contact technical support Any help would be grateful or do I need to raise a ticket ?? edit :- It works sometimes but 9 times out of 10 it just hangs.

So, I want to change how some elements are displayed on mobile. I know it's possible to apply custom css to a certain page/template but I don't know the actual proper way to do this. I know how to write the CSS to take effect on mobile but I can't target it for use in one area. For example, I would like to change the padding on my index so my images etc stretch the full width of the screen, but I don't want to effect the padding throughout the whole suit. I know I could create a new CSS class and change this in the template but I want to keep all customizations in custom.css to prevent errors and loss of customization when upgrading. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Is it possible to search for any file by using Sphinx? E.g. searching for '*' would result in all files being shown to the user? Bonus question: can the inbuilt search be coerced to do so? Thanks!

The image that is used for an album category is pulled in from the latest gallery upload. However, an image that is part of a private album is still shown which is clearly a pretty serious breach of privacy. The result is that a private image becomes the face of the entire gallery category until someone else uploads something different. I've attached an example from this forum. Hey guys anyone having an issue with the IPS/IPB forum + Pages sometimes while I am browsing or opening the website and I see it expended on the right, and I have to refresh it like 3x times to make it not expended like that, this issue was with them since I installed IPS 4.0 and the issue is also on the default theme on all browsers on different ISPs. anyone know how to fix this ?

Hello, Fairly new to IPB but I love it already. I am currently setting up a forum for my gaming community, so the site itself is not LIVE and is in offline mode. I have this problem that the page builder dose not save when I remove blocks, even though to looks fine right after pressing "finish editing". But after a F5 the removed blocks are still there. Hallo I've read you can add a custom staff directory layout: https://community.invisionpower.com/4docs/advanced-usage/custom-staff-directory-layouts-r87/ What I would like to do is list the assigned forums for every moderator as well (well only for the forum moderators, not the global mods or admins, but they can use an existing template). I am looking for any guidance, or documentation for my developers on how to share the IPB's header which includes the UCP, the notifications as well as the messages outside of the IPS platform? What would we need to do this? We can't locate any documentation that was on the community site, is it possible to touch base with a developer on this matter? As of note, we wee able to do this with the previous version... It's very crucial that I get this task complete as soon as possible as we are approaching a big deadline for our community.

Hi just updated from 3.4.8 to the latest 4.0.10.2 but when I click on a thumbnail image, its acting like a download link and asking if I want to save or open the thumbnail is not opening a full size image ? any ideas, have I missed an option somewhere also why is it when I type a post comment and start a new sentence it puts a space between each line of text, cannot seam to close the gap/space thank you

Hey guys, I've connected my account to my facebook account and chose that new postings will be imported into my community. unfortunately only the text parts of the facebook posts are being imported. This makes 50% of the imported postings rather useless and confusing. I don't know if this is by design or a bug. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!
