I am hoping to upgrade to 4 soon. Once my new theme is completed I want to make the leap over to 4. I've been testing/learning about 4 on a dev site for several weeks now. Aside from a full backup, what other things should I do prior to upgrading? Any gotchas I should look out for? What about mods/apps? Any issues there? Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

Hi there, I have just upgraded to 4.0.12 and all my forum's javascript is dead. This supposes that no one can post anything, neither interact with the forum. It seems that the forum is not locating "root_library" JS. Here an example: http://www.fmsite.net/foro/forums/ Any help here? Kind regards, Ibai

Is anyone here paying attention to advertisement counter in IPS4 backend -> system -> advertisement? It's counter is running fast for global header and global footer placement. I am running google ads and its number is not matching nor even close by 10 times with google adsense counter. Is there is any bug on this or some config issue that I don't know.....!

Hello, I'm looking for a totally layout-similar solution to the Last Topics widget. I know that I can use a customized post feed, however the layout does show the message, and I would like to just keep it simple showing just the subject, and last reply info, just like topics are being shown in "Last Topics" widget. Any ideas how to achieve this? Thanks!

My cache is totally wonky, and I am wondering if the post install CHMOD values given to me were wrong. You see my IPS download was missing install directions and support gave me this list:. They mentioned no recursives either. When I say wonky, they just don't seem to be updating when they should. Also, My site was down 6 hours all because my site and admin CP needed re-cached. But the admin CP couldn't re-cache anything because it needed re-cached itself. Here is a database query to help others that may find this via a search. This will force a re-cache.

Now there is another member here that I have talked to, and I bet if I asked her, she would have this same issue. Anyways a Demon has taken over my forum and likes to drive my members insane. Todays, craziness? Either I update my rules to reflect that 1/2 the members must tag with caps and the other 1/2 with lower case, or I fix the issue. Anyone here willing to challenge a demon? Any exorcists around?

When creating a new forum you get the option to upload an icon, but not to set one from Font Awesome. Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought that was the point of Font Awesome?? Thanks

My question relates to externally linked images. It may be that I'm missing something, or is it that settings don't have any effect on externally linked posted images. As can be seen I have the limit set to 700px, but members are posting images at 1000px that aren't being resized.

Hello, how can I change the shown date of a topic in the topic widget that it shows the date of the last post and not of the topic start? This makes more sense for me and the community. Also it would be great to show the username of the last poster and not the topic starter. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just wondering if anyone else has issues with double posting from members? My moderators tell me about the amount of double post clean ups that they do, and I just had an other member ask about it in my site question forum. Last two days my server is crashing. What happens is there are some rarely ran queries that completely freeze my server. This particular forum has 15 million posts. Usually there is no problem at all, but when this query comes up it runs for a very long time, and the IOSTAT Util% goes to 100% causing everything else to start to queue up being unable to access the harddisk. Even visiting other webpages on the server becomes impossible. I know the best solution would be to upgrade to SSD drives, but that isn't immediately possible. Hi guys, I created a Video Database on our site where everyone is allowed to submit a youtube video. Thus, a lot of database records (a database record is only a youtube video) are stored after a while. So far so good. We want to allow our guests to brows through the whole database and get entertained by the videos provided. (1.) Now comes the part where I need your help: Is there a way to create a button letting users jump to a random database record (video)? I thought about a php way with counting the items stored in the database and select a random number out of the count as the ID. But this won't work cause of every ID is unique and after deleting a post the video…
