Over the years I've had a CMS(Pages) block that generates a JPG of last 40 avatars posting to site. I've used a PHP block that regenerates based on the age of the saved temporary file as it involves a lot of fetching of avatar files each time it runs. Originally I could also have set the cache time of the block really long and just rerun, but no longer... The file was generated using PHP GD as imagejpeg($destimg,filepath); All this on hosted services. Years ago there was access to the directory structure and I just picked a place for the temp file. Then I had to change to using a file in "uploads" directory as hosted no longer had access to the directo…

I am getting ready to release a new product and I want to build sales on our own website outside of Steam. I am looking into the IPB license keys system but I can't find any information on it. There are two options, standard and MD5. The IPB documentation just says this: I assume the generated keys are using some kind of standard system, but there is no input for a private key or anything like that. How does my C++ application validate a license key? If this requires connection to the REST API, what is the point of using keys? You could just have the user enter their name and password, and check to make sure they purchased the item?

All my themes have missing images in them, and in some cases no images at all in the upload/set_resources folders at all. From what I can see, the core is deleting these images during tasks. Is there anyway to restore the missing default theme resource images?

What is the best way to handle Google Adsense CLS? I'm fighting to keep my ads the way they are laid out but the Content Layout Shift is greater than 0.25. How can I give space for the Ads with out making padded space too big for mobile or too small for desktop or just making a mess out of the layout. I did find some google code in the CSS side but it doesn't seem to be working possibly being my layout shift is too high yet. Hello! Invision community! I have a simple question. How can I do when users do searches in the search box at the top right where the magnifying glass is displayed. The searches also show the clubs that community members publish. Since I have a large community where clubs are published every day, many enter to do a search, the results are not shown. Hello, Community Because my community receives more visits worldwide every day we have detected some users creating multiple accounts to bypass IP blocks, or emails but they change IP or use VPN Is there some possibility to block users by the device's unique identifier UUID. As it is carried out in pc or mobile games where once blocked it does not allow you to create more accounts. They only have to change equipment for a new one. I have been using these forums for years and they are the best good moderation measures to prevent spam and registration rules but this feature that I ask for would be a great option. I am waiting if someone can help me or see some complement…

Good day, I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the background gray gradient that is placed on every grid image placeholder. I've contacted IPS support and they told me that it cannot be changed with a setting, and I would need to edit my template. See attachment. It always places a gray gradient on all grid images. Anyone knows how to remove the gradient from the template but unaffected by future IPS updates? Thanks a lot

Hello everyone, I was wondering whether it is possible to place the description field of a forum discussion at the top of a post included in that discussion category. There will be many different discussion categories. The description explains what it is about, however, when we are inside the different posts inside the discussion category, the description is not shown. You can see an example of what I am trying to explain in the screenshot attached. Can description 1 be shown under the channel name when we are inside the category? 1 shown at 2. Is there a way to do that or create a plugin that sort of allows me to do that? Thanks a lot

Currently running a Wordpress site for our podcast that creates the rss feed for iTunes to pick up. The actual mp3's are hosting through a podcasting host so I won't be changing that. What I would like to find out if IPB can be capable to take over for the rss feed creation for podcasts? If not I would just keep the Wordpress and have IPB be the community aspect. Eventually I'm wanting to have everything under IPB and have different podcast shows set up as clubs within IPB.

I'm either missing a setting(s) that's obvious, or what I am after doesn't exist... I'm setting up a forum for someone who requires a fairly unique setup. When it comes to guest access, there appears to be limited options to help achieve what I need. Option 1 - No access to forums: If I don't allow them to the website, they are simply presented with the login page... there is no menu bar showing (even though its set to show to guests)... this is too extreme as they cannot even read some of the pages I have created... so cannot see this being an option as I can't even add a text box with links that they can view. So this takes me to option 2…

Hi, Is there a way to receive digest email notifications for followed members? Reason I'm asking is that I quite like the daily and weekly digest emails after trying them here, I'm not sure how they work as they seem a bit hit or miss as to when IPS4 sends them out, but one thing I've noticed is that if you want to follow content by following a specific member, you don't get a daily or weekly digest like you do with followed content, but separate immediate emails. When a member follows a forum then they can choose to receive notifications, emails (day weekly) etc. When choosing the notification setting then the member's receive a notification bell when there is a new comment or topic but don't receive a new email each time there is a new topic/comment in that forum. Is this expected behaviour? I thought we would receive an email each time a comment or topic was added to the forum being followed. Is there something else I need to set up to make the emails work? Some users on our forum will copy and paste content from other sites. When they paste the content, the paste includes appears to include some of the HTML content from the original site. Specifically, I am seeing <pre coding including html colors and fonts. This code being included is breaking the default fonts on posts. I already checked and I do have the html setting off for the member groups. Is there something else I can do to prevent the html formatting code to come with the users posts? Thanks

For one of my forums, I have locked it to all but admins. we want to use this forum to post daily alerts - and to send emails about this alert to all members. I know that members can manually subscribe to the notification but we would like to: 1. bulk apply the email notification setting for this forum for all current members within a group. 2. automatically set this up/enable when a new member is added to the community. Are these possible either out of the box or with a plug-in from marketplace ? thanks
