Prior to version 4 when a site member was banned or flagged as a spammer their profile was placed into the BANNED member group automatically. With the release of version 4 by default this member group no longer exists with banned members being included in the sites default member group. While a banned member cannot access the site we have found that with them now being included in the sites default member group all banned members are included when sending out Bulk Emails. Perhaps some consideration might be given to going back to how banned members were managed in version 3 so that members who are banned or flagged as being spammers are not included in bulk e…

I spent a couple of hours today building a completely custom homepage with Pages. The homepage made use of a page template, custom wrapper template, two PHP blocks, custom CSS & JS files. As I went along I recorded a few things: Suggestions / Features 1. From a developer stand point, I was immediately stuck in regards to documentation. There's nothing remotely helpful that tells me how to use pages as an advanced user. I suggest a setup guide on creating a custom homepage that integrates with a PHP block. 2. Hi, really enjoying Pages however have hit a really significant limitation of the software. Default Sorting Could you please consider moving the option beyond just the Database settings in to the Category settings. In our situation for example it's necessary to sort the display of some categories differently from others. Database Filters Could you please consider just like being able to choose which form fields apply to a category, being able to choose which filter fields apply to a category. I think that current moderator's permissions form is unclear. I think that dissapearing tabs is very bad idea. This is initial state of form: And there is full form: I think that tabs and toggles shouldn't disappear and/or you need add an info message "how-to work with this form".

Why is it that we're prevented from including a Pages database on more than one page? It seems very restricting and I'm not sure why that restriction was put in place. I know the reason that the one database per page limit was put in place due to concerns about performance, but it seems this restriction was just put in arbitrarily. Could this restriction please be removed at some point? Would there be any negative side-effects if I were to go into the code and remove the restriction myself?

This was a very useful feature in version 3 where I could input the name of a file in the Downloads admin panel and I could see who had downloaded it. I've searched for this feature in version 4 and cannot find it anywhere. Could some kind soul please assist?

Is it possible to have pre-determined avatars that people can chose, from a list already on the server. Rather than letting member upload personal photos? I run a football forum and I want people to only have the option of having their teams crests as there avatar / profile photo? Thanks in advance.

The persistence and lifespan of cookies responsible for automatic user log on ("ips4_member_id" and "ips4_pass_hash") should be adjustable, either in ACP or constants.php. We have written a custom login handler that talks to our in-house OAuth2 authorization service. User sessions in that service cannot be persistent across browser sessions for security reasons. As IPS behaves differently in this respect, the end result is that our users are logged in to IPS but not to our OAuth service.

So recently I had a situation where I was locked out of my ACP due to a plugin that messed up. I then contacted support for assistance and finally after a few hours was able to fix the situation. My thought was that it could have been fixed sooner if there was a way to disable plugins from IPS's Client Area. I'm proposing that's there be a disable all plugins in there for the specific site so if a plugin is messing up the acp then it can get fixed sooner than waiting on support personnel to get tour message and tell you whats going on when you already know. Just my 2 cents

Hi guys First of all I wish to say IPS are the best forum provider and I am extremely happy with my experience and orders, so good job to you guys, your'e great! I've noticed that when you go onto a forum section with an announcement in it the whole announcement appears for split second and goes away, this is quite annoying for me and for other users it takes up to a second and then goes away. Hi, To translate text from an app, it would be nice to search all terms from an app. For now it only possible to organize a-z all community text to find text from an app. This is not very easy. Maybe it would be better to add a search box here : App / Key / English / Français

I have a request to be added to IPS V4. In the theme design I would like to have the ability to have 2 logo's one for a normal computer based boards, which can a wide as the resolution will allow. Then one for a responsive size logo less the 250 px for display on cell phones. I know you can make one logo under 250 px, but that looks small on a computer based browser.

At the moment, there are notifications when someone replies to a topic that you are currently viewing, but there isn't anything if a post is edited while viewing the topic. It would be really useful to be able to get notifications for edits too, so that you end up replying to the most up to date version of the post, etc.

There are cases when I'll have multiple themes and the majority of the templates have common codes. The way it is now for every change I'll have to manually update each template per theme. It would be nice if there's a way to globally modify templates across themes. Something like "Apply change to current template or x templates". Where "x" is are the additional/selected templates to be modified. Please?

Hi, If we disable images in signatures (by setting the maximum number of allowed images in signatures as "0"), the image upload box is still present and operational. Only when hitting "Save" the platform throws an error saying the user has surpassed his number of allowed images. My suggestion is to remove the upload box when we don't allow images in signatures. The Live Meta Tag Editor is incredibly useful, so useful that it would be great to get it out of the ACP and either in to a quick dropdown link to activate or as an additional pane to the left under "Manage Blocks." This would give easier access and in my case, highly encourage usage of the system vs having it hidden away in the ACP. Two example of where it could be moved to:

We dedicate a lot of time to making technical images and it stinks when you see your images showing up elsewhere on the internet. It would be great if you could restrict right clicking on image and downloading, especially to guests. Possibly allowing only downloading an image to a set group by clicking a download button or menu option, not right clicking.

Dear IPS A lot of my members access the forum via a mobile connection. We have a lot of images posted. To assist those on slow connections we limit image size to 640x480 in forum topic posts. However, a lot of our members don't understand resizing, so we regularly get uploads of 20 lots of 3000x1600 photos. PhPBB used to take these photos at upload stage and turn them into 640x480 - BRILLIANT :) IPB Doesn't - BOO :( I've looked for a hack/mod with no success. Please, please, please consider this for a future update. Or can anyone point me in the right direction?? Many Thanks Bill
