Hi IPS, You seem to be really promoting member engagement at present which is great news. Another thing I've seen you promoting a lot is the Rest API. With Wordpress being so popular, I wondered if you might consider releasing an officially supported Wordpress/IPS bridge or single sign on solution, so that Admins who use IPS community suite can continue to use Wordpress (and vice versa) without expecting visitors to register twice on their website on both systems/databases, with IPS 4.x managing the membership. I appreciate there is a Marketplace mod available but it's extremely expensive (no offence to the developer) and honestly out of reach of the majori…

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this but with IPS4 on mobile devices, when you swipe to go back to hit the back button, it will show the previous screen however, it's still loading in the background and freezes the screen from being scrolled. Lately I was on Blizzard's community and their swipe/back button was fluid and had not stutter or lag or wait time to scroll after going back. You can reproduce this right now on IPS forum and Blizzard forums.

I understand that the vast majority of users have their DB on localhost so SSL is pointless, but for those with external DB's it's an important feature to have. I wrote a quick hack in system/Db/Db.php, which can be seen below, and I hope Invision adds official support in the near future. protected static function _establishConnection( $classname, $sqlCredentials, $utf8Mb4 = TRUE ) { // =============== Begin SSL Support Changes =============== // /* Initialize */ $object = @new $classname(); /* Setup SSL */ $object->ssl_set('/path/to/client/key', '/path/to/client/cert', '/path/to/ca', NULL, NULL); …

I am not found some ui widget on source code available from dev\js\framework\common\ui around the suite. Some of them are not documented or are incomplete or don't show how trigger some event, consider that if them are documented is easily improve each of them and permise to suggest some feature. dev/js/framework/common/ui/ips.ui.addressForm.js dev/js/framework/common/ui/ips.ui.alert.js dev/js/framework/common/ui/ips.ui.autoCheck.js dev/js/framework/common/ui/ips.ui.autocomplete.js dev/js/framework/common/ui/ips.ui.captcha.js dev/js/framework/common/ui/ips.ui.carousel.js dev/js/framework/common/ui/ips.ui.chart.js dev/js/framework/common/ui/ips.ui.c…

This is a pretty niche suggestion and might be a bit complex to cleanly implement, but it would possible be nice to have tag searching support when using a closed tagging system. When you have a lot of tags, it can get kind of cluttered and is difficult to easily navigate through them all. Searching could help alleviate this.

Hi there, Would it be possible please to add an option to the topic feed widget that allows me to display topics that have specific tags attached to them? At present this option is not available and in my opinion it really should be. For a possible use case - the European Championships are coming up and I would like to showcase the threads that have the tag "euro2016" attached to the topic. Thanks

IPB 4.x adds a step to the process for moving a post from one topic to another, making it a subcategory of Split. As moving a post is a far more frequent moderation action than Split, the process should be streamlined for Move. It should be in the topic action menu (bottom of image). (The default choice in Split is set to splitting the topic. Following the rule of expediting the more common action, Move should be the default -- if it is absolutely impossible to streamline Move by putting it in the topic action menu.)

It would be nice to have the option of creating support departments, which only certain member groups can have access to. So for example, if a member upgrades his membership to premium, he then has access to the premium support department when making a ticket.

This was useful in 3.x, one could put a fragment of an e-mail address, screen name, real name, etc. in the ACP > Members search box and get results where the string was found in e-mail, screen name, or real name. Sometimes I get mail from members who don't include their screen names, and I can find them by e-mail address. Or, I used it when I'm look for a duplicated registration. Why was this changed to a less usable restricted search for Display Name only, with confusing and more laborious options for Advanced Search? Providing fuzzy search with Advanced Search for more granular multi-parameter search would have retained existing usability.

Doesn't seem to be a way to group Clubs together? I'd want to be able to group them by "Affiliate Sponsors" and "User Groups" etc or some other grouping. And be able to force the sort order of the groups.

Six days in with 4.2 (beta) and I like the device notifications and it seems like a good thing. However, for some reason one of my members is getting the same notification every day - same O/S, same browser, same location. He's forwarding them to me via email as proof and it's getting a bit irritating. I've asked him to just delete them and stop forwarding them, but he just says "stop sending them to me then." None of the other members are complaining about anything similar, but checking around it seems that there's nothing I can do to turn it off for an individual. It would be handy if members could toggle this on and off in the notification settings.

Hi, i love IPS.Connect and ran a master and connected three slaves to it... generally, everything is working fine... But you don't have much control over the masters and slaves. If you change a URL (complete or eg from http:// to https://) you will break your IPS.Connect Network. For now, i learned i have to check the core_ipsconnect_slaves-table. You are not able to see what slaves are connected in the ACP... It would be great to see, which slaves are connected to the master and have to option to remove or change them... The data is in the database (like i mentioned: core_ipsconnect_slaves), so i think you could grab it from there. This would help customers deb…

I've just tried to answer a question about creating a Pages database. I was going to link the poster to the Guides section Pages > Basic Tutorial: Building a recipe section. I decided against in the end because it wouldn't have been possible for him to see what came next. I would've linked him to the first step: What to do next wouldn't have been obvious to him. There are no links at the bottom of the page indicating what the next record is. And though there's the side menu where everything is clearly set out by default this is all collapsed when the record loads, so the reader won't see it and would have to know which item to toggle. That won't …

Hello, An option when requesting a MarketPlace payout to transfer our funds (or a portion) from MarketPlace sales to our IPB Account itself. I always pay my renewals of course with sales funds so I have as least possible out of pocket expenses. I just want to make giving you money easier <--- fun sarcasm Kind Regards

Imagine if members were motivated to advertise your site on your behalf without being paid to do so? You would want that right? We can make this happen! How? Well, people who contribute to downloads do so because they want to sell things in the Market Place and make money. Right now there is no good way for them to advertise their business! Personalize something for these people PLEASE! Consider Adriano, a very prolific developer. Suppose he wanted to market all his great mods somewhere else, suppose some IPB focused site.(IPB_fansite.com for example) Adriano has: no personal market place list or store front to share no personalized li…

If MemberA downloads the same file multiple times each download counts. When would this be useful? I think it would be a much more useful number if it would only allow 1 increment in the count PER user to download the file. I have 1 user who downloaded the same file MANY times. It's annoying (and not helpful) to see his profile avatar multiple times in the "Who downloaded this file" section. He was able to totally screw up my most downloaded file section. Now a file that rightfully should only have 2 downloads is leading in this week, this month and this year download status!! Essentially it turned that section into a False Report. Seems li…

Product Commerce Block The cut and paste option is highly variable depending on the space available Collapsible blocks We have the collapsing quotes in the forum and forum containers, could this be applied to blocks? Menu Block Instead of the menu bar, a menu block that could be used horizontally or vertically. So the menu manager could make either multiple menus or blocks from parts of a menu. No small task I suspect Title Option for WYSIWYG blocks A title option for these blocks to make them look like the rest of the system blocks. User Configurable Home Page for Blocks Part of the profile perhaps,…

Using Pages I've been trying to create a form page. I figured I'd throw this on here and see if there was a better way to create a form using Pages. I feel forms are important to get valuable information from member of a community. Here's what I did: 1. I created a database with a page without categories - called the page / database - Test Form. 2. Created the fields I needed in the form. 3. Created separate Display and Listing templates to be used with the form - called those Test Form Listing and Test Form Display - left the form template stock. 4. Changed the settings in the Test Form database to use the custom templates in #3. At this point I played around with …

I was wondering if it's possible to run a search on all content posted by member X in a certain time period, say, the month of November? I haven't been able to find this in Advanced Search. The closest thing I can do is go to my Member list (which is not native to the Suite; you have to make it yourself) and click the Find Content button, but that brings up everything they've ever posted. It seems to me that this should be an option available from Advanced Search: not to require tags or terms and just run a blanket search for all content posted by a Member in a given timeframe. Unless I'm missing something? Thanks for listening!

Can someone test whether they have this same problem. On my system I import email tickets from an email address. Someone sent an email there with an image attachment. When the cron ran to check the email and import it , the import failed. The cron attempted to repeat this every 1 minute. This resulted in the following: 1) In the system log, it added an error entry that included the insert sql query that contained the entire email including the 10mb image attachment. So each log entry was 10mb in size. Since it ran every 1 minute, in a few days this added 15 GB to my database until I got warnings from my server that I was running out of space. 2) The cron managed…
