Is there a way to tell the system that is should not cache a block? I have edited the Blog Entry Feed block to show a button that link to different contend based on user permission. This means that all users see the content of the button as it were when some random user caused it to be cached.

I put together a quick classified area using pages. I'm happy with how it turned out, however would like to have the ability to "ban" members from being able to enter a new ad. Is there any way I can include an individual permission in Pages?

I've got feature plan setup in pages with users with the ability to create their own but these are moderated before shown. The approval email that goes out has a really weird subject heading: <user> has posted __indefart_content_db_lang_su_5 requiring approval. Where can I clean this up?

Can anyone please tell me how can I change default group for new members register using facebook/google plus/etc? People registering the "normal" way are assigned where I want them - I know this setting is defined in conf_global.php but there's nothing about where people coming from social media regs should be added. This is annoying because I need to manually move such users.

I know IPB has excellent spam prevention that in last 1 year I have not seen much of spam attacks. Just yesterday some smarty pant breached and posted 18 threads in one hour about fake documents etc. Anyways to prevent same in the future....? I mean how to limit new user to not to make more than 2-3 posts a day?

Hi, I juste upgraded from 4.0.13 to 4.1.5.2 Everything went fine but the editor goes mad... the icons of the buttons ara not ne the good one For example the default large Editor is: I tried to click on "Restore Default Configuration" but didn't change anything Tried to go inn Support and clear the cache... noting better Could you please tlle me what can I do to correct this ?

It appears I am having an issue with selecting the CKEditor theme I wish to use on my community. For instance, using the default page to submit a Commerce support request or Pages database entry the editor theme show correctly. The issue is when I am calling up a remote modal for a Commerce New Request, CKEditor simply decides it wants to use the Moono theme, but if I go to any other app in IPS the CKEditor them I chose from the ACP shows up as expected. Is there a known fix I could apply to my Pages? Or maybe, should I post this in the bug tracker for IPS 4.1.5.2?

What is the proper protocol here? I will have a live version of my forum for end-users, but then I need another copy installed on my server for testing purposes. Do I need to buy a second license for this? Also, is there a procedure for how to carry over modifications and setting changes made to the test version to the live version? Or this has to be done all manually? If you could share your secrets for how you manage these kinds of logistics for in a live environment with 1000s of users, that would be great! Obviously you can't be running tweaks and tests on the live forum, right?

Okay, I might be derping here. I swear I saw a post explaining how to do this, but I can't find it anymore. How does one limit the quantity of how much a 'customer' can buy? My use case is monthly subscription (trying to set one up). The pesky quantity option is there though. I had thought the 'fix' was to set a finite quantity (e.g. 99999) and set some other option (can't remember). I remember something about coupons too, but that seems like it's less than ideal for my community. :/

i have created a database to post youtube videos and created a block for forum sidebar to show the most recent posts but the block shows the title records only and i want to make it to show content records witch it is the embedded youtube videos someone help me to do that please? ---- also is it possible to have only one field on the database? i seem cant delete title and i do not need it i only need one field to post the youtube links, i also want it to show ONLY the embedded video in the foeum block i dont want to show who posted or whatever any idea?

How can I get to the users custom profile fields from this: $comment->author()-> I want to check the value of a specific field ID to display something. I tried doing it in the customFieldsDisplay template, but the value there comes with some html... not just the text of the field.

Hi, I want to hide all internal links which are pointing to user profile pages (only for guests). Is there any way to do that with a Hook that is hookable before the HTML output is generated? In that case, I would just regex&delete the profile page ahref for Guests only. I guess, that would save me a lot of template editing. Thanks.

Is there anything that would prevent a admin from adjusting permissions on different user groups? So I can change anything I want below let say in the signature setting and click SAVE button. Come back to the very same page and nothing is changed. Did I miss something here?

I'll try and keep it simple. This post is mostly for @Ryan Ashbrook, but other IPS staff should be aware - @Lindy, etc : The old IPB 3.X converters had redirect scripts that would forward old vBulletin, etc. links to the new Invision URLs. This is VERY good for SEO and good for users still being able to find old content via old links! These redirect scripts break when updating to IPS4 - they return an error about "Invalid IPB Path" - I wouldn't expect them to work, since IPS4 is a rewrite Nevertheless, this means TONS of links will be broken for those who converted to IPB3 from large forums and then upgraded to IPS4... and right now there's no solu…

I'm in the process of upgrading to 4.1.5.2, but this query is taking forever (going on an hour, and my site's been down this whole time). I know table alter commands tend to take a while, and I do have 3.7m rows, but I'm a little concerned. Has anyone else run into the same thing?

I am using IP Content extensively, and one out of many uses is for car classifieds for 20 car brands. As our classifieds is gaining traction, it's time to add the sub category for car models inside each of the 20 car brands. I like the small triangle on left to toggle sub categories, but wondering if there is a way to technically make it appear in minimize format by default and user can expand whatever category they want to dig-in in below two places: On the right category nav While adding new content

Hi all, This has been on my mind for ages and i've asked IPS but they said to check with the community. Is there a Bug Tracker for IPS4? It was such an awesome application but now we're on IPS4, there doesn't seem to be much progress with applications/hooks compared to IPS2/IPS3. I've heard you can make one for IP Content but we don't have it at the moment, need to renew it! But even so, I don't have time to create it myself. Many thanks
