I have a new IPS Community (Hosted) running and I can't figure out how to change the home page. For example... I want to list Articles as the default page, not the forum, and I've searched everywhere on how to do this on a 'hosted' IPS site. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was with an bugged IPB install, so i installer a new fresh install and want to import from the old forum just members, foruns, topics e posts. But how can i do that? I tried to export from the older database and import to the new one, but i got this error: #1054 - Unknown column 'misc' in 'field list'

Hello, so i reactivated my "IP.Content/Pages" application (I'm guessing they are both the same thing) but i can not find where to download it. I went to my client area, to my applications on my site, to my licence info on my site. Could not find a single thing that says install or download. After refreshing my licence in my ACP it said that Pages are activated, but i can not see them anywhere on my site. Need help.

On the settings overview page I see that it's possible to output the users email using: {member="email"} However is there any way that I could assign the users email to a variable? It seems like it should be easy to do but I can't seem to find any documentation on it.. Something like this: {{$uid = \IPS\Member::loggedIn()->name;}} Thanks for any help! EDIT: not sure if this was technical support due to the nature of the question or templates because it's in a template, sorry if I got that wrong

hi all. I have done a search in these forums but cant seem to find anything on this so i am making a new post. Apologies if this question has been answered else where. To slave IPS4 (forums) to our central authentication system i have done as instructed and created a pluggin that extents \ips\front and hooks the read member. I've just been checking out IPB 4.1 and like the benefits of archiving apart from this part is this just in relation to forum search results or search engine search results? If you have a very large site, it can be beneficial to reduce the size of the database table storing posts. Archiving topics is an alternative to deleting which allows them to still exist and be viewed as normal, but moves them to a separate database table. Archived topics cannot be posted in or edited, and will not show in search results. You can unarchive topics after they've been archived if you change your mind.

I moved to a VPS server yesterday, today users can't upload files. If I paste a URL or copy and past an image, it works fine (I suspect those aren't actually uploaded). If you use "choose files..." after you select the image / file it looks like it starts to upload, but when it get to the end it gives a popup saying " There was a problem uploading the file" I modified the uploads folder and all sub-folders to 777, but I still get this error. How can I get this to work, and are there other settings I need to look at after the move? Thanks

I am trying to embed external websites into the IPB4 frame (so the menu should stay there, but instead of the boards, it should show the external site), so that I can use the menu system to create a complete website with more than just a forum. iframe doesn't really work these days anymore (often blocked by browsers it seems), so how can I do that properly? There doesn't seemt to be a block that allows external embedding. Thanks in advance!

I see lots of talk about this issue, and Administrators seem unhappy with the answer to what I am going to ask again in hopes there is some solution now. I have over 500 PAGES of "users" that are listed when I click on the "Spammers" tab under Members in IPS 4 Forum. I manually validate each new User - but apparently these "Spammers" are automatically filtered before I ever see them. And they are placed in a Group that also includes all my legitimate users. How do I get rid of them? I'm guessing there are 7-8000.

Is there any way to prevent users from changing background color of their post? I removed the button from the editor bar, however when they copy/paste content into their posts it seems to store bg color information which they have absolutely no way of removing besides using the remove format option which removes absolutely all the formating and not just the bg color. I'd like to be able to make it so it won't allow the bg color of a copy/pasted post to actually parse.

Okay, I updated from 4.0.13 to the latest 4.1 to see if things got better, but I'm running into issues with themes. The update wasn't really user friendly - I had multiple themes before where I only changed the colors, but I had to REVERT to the default one as I would've gotten an error message otherwise all the time. Why the update couldn't keep my colors and update the rest of the theme files is beyond my understanding, but okay... Well, I recreated all the themes - but now they can't be chosen in the forum anymore. I made sure the permissions are set to "All", and when I choose the default theme, it also works fine. Our users are reported that the site is becoming a bit laggy at times and I've noticed it myself since the upgraded to to 4.1.3.2, I've also noticed here that when typing within the editor, it lags for a second and then catches up. Doesn't always happen fairly random. On both it can happen when browsing and scrolling up and down, it "could" be PC related, it could be browser related, it could be notifcation related - however, I was just curious if anyone has experienced something similar since the most recent update (4.1.2 / 4.1.3)

I've had a ticket open for 3 days with NO help. Pretty awful customer service. Ticket number: 932624 Since my upgrade, my gallery has stopped working, the URL to the images are this: http://www.DOMAIN.com/forum/http://www.DOMAIN.com/forum/uploads/gallery/monthly_2015_11/large.Screenshot_2015-11-01-17-05-34_%281%29.JPG.3bca3b718a9338c5135b244077515c0e.JPG As you can see, it's putting an additional part of the URL at the beginning. Also, subscriptions have gone in this, how do I get them back? I see 1 reference to it being part of Nexus on the website, but then it's called commerce else where. What do I need to do for this to work?

4.1 seems unable to handle this file when uploading to a forum post on my community. It is 4.7MB but I can upload larger files. When uploading to the gallery, it goes through the uplaod process then brings up a blank window, you click the cross to find the image is not there. Any ideas please? Thank you. Also, on here, when viewing in the light box, the orientation is wrong? Should it not show as it is posted? EDIT: I opened the image in paint and saved as a .jpg and it then inserts:
