Recently upgraded to 4.1.6 and wildcard searches stopped working. So you can search for a word like "whirlpool" and it will find exact matches on the word "whirlpool". But search "whirl*" and you get 0 search results. Also, advanced search hangs when doing any search with the "match any word" option selected. Both of these functions were working fine in 3.x and 4.1.5.2. Got borked in 4.1.6. Anyone seeing this? Any fixes? Already put a ticket in with tech support on this yesterday morning but got crickets. Thanks for any help! Scott

Hi, I have upgraded my IPB forum to IPS 4.0 and now I see that the database structure and file structure have been modified to a great extent. I am trying to configure the updated forum on my site. However it gives me error when enabling the auto login feature. Please help. Thanks,

Can anyone help me force image thumbnails in forums to load full size view inline when clicked? what I mean is no light box, no new window, no replace window... I want full size to appear right in the forum post inline to max workable screen size. Can anyone help please??

Hello. I'm trying to put content in a unique profile, example: I'm gonna remove my profile tabs, but I want to show other information instead. (This only has to happen on my profile) {{if this member id is blah blah}} my content {{else}} general content {{endif}} Anything like that? Thanks in advance.

I updated to 4.1.6 yesterday and ever since then none of my IPSFocus themes (Villain, Dimenion and Shift) will keep the settings I plug in. As an example: The MEGA FOOTER - I set it to 3 columns, save it and if I don't edit again it will work. BUT if I do edit it, it immediately returns everything to a default (1 column) Background Picker - Same issue as above. Works after I set it until I edit and then it immediately defaults to 2 images instead of the 4 I have set. This stuff worked just fine until this update. Developer says it sounds like an IPB issue. Anyone have any ideas??

I am getting quite frustrated with how these updates are being rolled out as of late, the past 5 updates i have tried implementing onto my forums have broken the forums and left us for days if not weeks without any updates or decent replies, recently it seems every time i post a support ticket it has to go to 2-3 people before it actually gets to the person that can help me, i understand that that IPS4 is new and there will be bugs but come on.. do you guys even test these updates before sending them out? My most recent issue is with the upgrade to 4.1.6, when running the automatic updater the screen went black and now i am receiving a Server Error when trying to acc…

I searched a little for the answer, but i only found people asking if there is a fee or changing owners. What I want to do is change the URL. I know I could just redirect users, but I'd rather have it be at the new URL. It's easier for people to bookmark and keep the branding.

Hi We're going to start having an annual subscription member fee (lets say 15), but we want a free trial period of 3 months. All members need a subscription, and if a member doesn't pay, it's supposed to get the same access as a guest. I have two user groups, regular member and a VIP-member, but the VIP-group can be converted to regular member if it complicates things. How do I set this up in commerce? I need a newbie explanation.

I don't seem to understand how I can add free stuff in the store? Everything seems to require billing information and a payment method. But if it's free, a person should just be able to get it, no hassle. What am I missing? Our case is that our members can get promotions with other businesses, and we just want to keep track of how many has actually shown interest for the promo. We could use the ads sections, but we don't want ads on the page really it makes more sense to tuck this stuff away in the Store.

Okay so i tried to run the auto upgrade on my boards with the most recent upgrade, the updated crashed mid way through and gave me a Server Error 500. From this point onwards my whole servers chomod permissions were changed as well as strangly my apache2.conf file was wiped, everything had stopped working, i contacted IPB support but they seem to be just giving me small fixes that then lead onto another problem due to the permission changes. My question is firstly, is there an easy way to fix this issue? If not is there a list of what folders/files need what permissions? Thanks

No matter what I try, thumbnail images refuse to display through the articles view in Pages when viewing the index page. Now, thumbnail images will display when I create a different database for "movies" or "television" if I create a different database that's loaded into an IP.Content page but thumbnails refuse to load through the default database for Pages. Does anyone know how to properly configure Pages through "article view" so that when you view the Pages index that those thumbnails will appear? I've not yet uplifted to 4.1.6, but ref 'Introduces support for PayPal Billing Agreement' are we going to get any information from IPS as to how we set these up, or are we going to get no help with configuring such an important and much requested feature? I want to create a page where I want to show a map based on latitude ot longitude to show current location which may change more frequently... hi! i've articles in pages, and i use "copy in forum". but, atm, copy in forum cannot auto-close this copied topic and this new topic contain whole article (a good way can be: Just link and auto close)... so, what is the best setup? use forum for comments and maintain entire article also in forum (like a duplicate content)? use page for comments and close manually copied topic (and edit with just a link)? maintain as default with duplicate content (article in pages and copied article in topic) and separated comment (some in pages and some in forum)? ... what is your setup?

Lol! I've never had 1 time that I remember that I could update/upgrade the forum without any issue... LOL who is doing the QA over there?? I've included a screenshot. The funny thing is, I came here last night to report this and the same thing happened to me in both Chrome v48 and Edge (Windows 10) and for no reason at all.. it is fine now. I am not ad blocking, don't have any weird extensions blocking stuff here, and Edge doesn't even have extensions anyway. I hope someone else has been able to debug it so I can help our members
