Dear, Al my indexed forum pages on Google has the green line on google "gebruikers online" thats Dutch for users online. Before the IPB 4 upgrade it did not had this. The green link was the topic title. How can we fix this?

HI Guys Where i can find a way to log in via Wordpress or vice versa? Looked about but could find no solutions. We run wordpress and IPB together but would like to have one main central login, so whether we log in using wordpress DB or wordpress logs in from the IPB DB. Can i use the "Login Manager" and connect via the "External Database" section? cheers

I was just brainstorming and im wondering it it is possible to use a variable. Im not sure what it would be set up like but for example. If a user had a profile field setting for hiding profile. Can we use a yes/no option and then if yes/no profile field = yes then display profile page - if no then display something. I know the logic but im not sure if profile fields can be used this way? Im thinking this may be a cool way to set up user specific settings that they can toggle on and off

I have been a customer with IPS for quite some years now and this is the first time I have felt the need to post feedback. My website is predominately content driven but uses the forum as a side feature. www.kartreview.co.uk When 4.0 was released (after years of waiting) I upgraded to take advantage of the many feature benefits over the 3 series. We spent a fair amount of time getting the site cutsomised enough to differentiate it from other IPS websites. Hi, in pages url contain category and subcategory (if exist). So, my last article is this: /homepage/computer-tecnologia/internet-telefonia-provider-adsl/come-superare-il-blocco-verso-i-siti-di-scommesse-online-r33/ i glad, if is possible, to remove category part and maintain just title eg: /homepage/internet-telefonia-provider-adsl/come-superare-il-blocco-verso-i-siti-di-scommesse-online-r33/ but i cannot found any setting for this. url work also with: /homepage/anychars-r33/ but make redirect to full link with categories. and no setting for Pages in "Advanced, Friendly URLs". thanks in advace, S.N.

In the search dropdown I get the option of "all content", "topics", "members". How can i remove "members" from being searchable? It's a private site and don't want members being able to count the number of members we have - which can be worked out with the search facility. Regards Dave

Hey, I just switched to IPB 4.1.8 and got some questions. I want an clean install of the files and stuff, but I want to keep users, forums, posts and stuff. Should I upgrade from 3.4.7 or is there another way to import all those data? I want to force the option "Show popup window when I receive a new personal message" to be activated by default and don't want the user to change it. Is there a way for it? I just can find the other notification options in admin notification settings. I want to make a plugin or a hook or something to change the color of the username. What would be the best way? Hi, Id like to upgrade our current board from 3.4 to 4 but at the same time clean up years of mess. What id like to do ideally is remove all old files, upload the new ones run the install to upgrade our Database to the new version. Is this possible or something i should avoid? Apart from the Uploads folders are there any others i need to retain to keep things working? Hope this makes sense. Marc

Im not entirly sure if this is the right section to post a Forum error, hence id be greatful if you could moove it to the propper section I have upgraded my Forum as the headbar showed allways lately and it installed sucessfully. Now im getting issues trying to acess and view other pepoles profiles. Hence making it difficult to pm someone etc Any suggestions how this may have occured or how to give it a fix`? I can't seem to find this setting anywhere but I feel it must exist. Can we control whether Mods or Admins can be followed using the Follow button? Because right now on my forum Mods cannot be followed for some reason and I figure it's a settings issue.

So ever since the upgrade to 4.1.8 I've been periodically getting this message while in my ACP/System tab. "The following tasks appear to be locking frequently: profilesync" Image attached: I have to run this manually. Before hand this was all being handled well through the cron tasks. Any thoughts out there?

I had a handful of security issues fixed within my website and the tech said as long as Apache config file and the Php config aren't messed with, these security fixes won't need to be updated. So does the regular IPS software update ever mess with these two particular files, requiring me to have the security continually updated?

I'm having a problem searching forums from my tablet. When I click on the search icon in the upper right of the home page (Or any page for that matter) the search box comes up but when I click to put my cursor in it to type it quickly disappears, so I can't do a search.

Hey Guys, Trying a fresh install But I am getting the following error on step 2 when inputting the licence: There was an error communicating with the IPS License Server: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds. Is it possible to have the ACP theme to stop inheriting theme settings from my front end theme? For example... ACP is a white background, I have a dark front end website with white font.... the resulting change results in white texts on a white background in the ACP.

I currently have my site in a subdirectory of my domain, i.e. mysite.com/forums I would like to have it *appear* as if it is in the root domain without actually moving the installation down a directory, i.e. mysite.com/ So that a forum link would look like... mysite.com/forum/497-peer-to-peer-technical-support instead of... mysite.com/forums/forum/497-peer-to-peer-technical-support Is this possible with a simple .htaccess edit? IPS 4.1.x has the ability to rewrite a lot of URL's as it is.

Hey guys, I'm adding a custom block with some php code and it just throws me an error 500 whenever I try to the load the page. Just to test it out I'm using the sample SSO code from the documentation, which is simple enough. Welcome, I've just updated to version 4.1.8 of IPB. And when I created topic I found very bad thing for me ;/ In 3.4 when you mark graphic in editor and hit hiperlink then your photo was anchor of link.... now it's impossible with "insert other media" and hiperlink tool ;/ How to do it in rich text editor?
