Hey there. I am wondering... what do you guys think is the best form of advertising on a forum? Right now I have: Programmatic advertising with banner ads. They are responsive ads - so they show different banners depending whether you're on mobile or desktop. I have one ad display below the header, one ad in the side bar, and one ad after the first post in a forum/topic. I also have 'takeover' ads in effect - sometimes the entire page looks like an ad. Video advertising with Teads tends to not be very effective. They say their ads don't perform well on sites that are UGC. Often times, I don't even see ads display on my site be…

Hello, Would like to propose that you add an option to have the option "Let others see that I follow this", when following items, deselected by default. Some users are very privacy oriented and see no reason this is enabled by default as they have to deselect it every time. This should then also affect the "Follow item" checkbox in the reply forms. I know that there isn’t a rule or something for this but you will REALLY allow @KiwiGym to follow all members in this board? 🤣 It’s been a few days already and it seems not a good idea to let a visitor follow EVERYONE on this board! For a while, the sites could be full of colors, lots of menus, lots of different sections. This posed no problem for Internet users. This is over today. Internet users no longer have the time and want direct access to what they need. Is it just me ... or do I remember being promised more control over where my ads are placed? I specifically want to have certain clubs have zero ads and also no ads on the registration page etc.... I cannot find the references to this promise anywhere? Or is it just me? @The Old Man?

Banning, blocking and moderating problematic users is all well and good, but if the user decides to open a new account and the site's admins can't detect it as a duplicate, all those tools are pretty useless. I saw that through the years there have been a few plugins developed by the community, but I think that this should be a built-in integral functionality of the suite. Also the plugins are currently not available for purchase so I'm salty 😄 What do you guys think? Should we have a built-in tool to help us find and intercept trolls and toxic users? Especially given how fairly simple is should be to implement (makes a cookie and then checks for it).

Hi fellow developers and members of community. I'm here with a small quality of life suggestion that can slightly improve the usability of forum software in some cases. The forum software I'm supporting is installed on server without direct internet access. Yes, that's weird, I know. And there's nothing I can do about. But there's a proxy server on internal network that may and should be used for all external connections. As for now I'm bound to implement a hardcode fix after each system's upgrade. The progress bar for multiple image uploader accepts only integer values, otherwise it displays NaN instead of current progress and scale is always at 0%. But gallery upload script returns float value as current step. If you upload 4 pics, everything will be fine - 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. But if you upload 3 pics: 33.3333% => NaN, 66.6666% => NaN, 100%. I have a few members that complained about how its difficult for them to mark forum read and to be honest after they mentioned that to me I had a hard time finding that option. Maybe in your next release you can make it a lot easier to apply?

I used Social Media Promotions, but is very difficult configure with the Facebook permisions. And nonestly the support is poor in this feature by IPS. Facebook doesn't make it easy and it usually stops working unexpectedly. I have a support ticket from April 03, 2020 without resolving. With this last modification in manage_pages and publish_pages permissions, it again doesn't work and I have to request new permissions: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/changelog/version7.0 Are InvisionCommunity looking for any alternative to promote our content on Facebook?

Remove the requirement to review when someone just wants to rate. People are more likely to rate if they are not required to review but will not write a review just so they can rate. This is for the pages app - or anywhere else where rating takes place that requires anything other than just giving a rating. I managed to negate this, but had to jump through hoops to do it, whereas as simple option in the settings would negate the need to do this. My members can now rate without having to review. Hi Guys it would be great if there IPB Tam implement comments system like stackoverflow.com for replies : ) Right Now if user want to respone back to reply. he/she have to quote the reply. That cuase the so much repetition of content (Reply content again repeated inside new reply ) and seems very unorganized when users go through topics e.g sometime i see quotes for reply at end of page rather underneath the reply I think i would be milestone for IPB if this is implemented because no other forums software had this Guys what do you think ? if you like please upvote this feature :) PLEASE!! Just a follow on from the original topic by DamonT On a forum i manage, my picks page is used and also promoted to the main index using the widget that's set to display three picks only. Due to the images being loaded full size on the forum index it really slows the loading of the forum, could there be some improvement to these features as i feel these have been over looked. On the main index block could images be reduced to thumbnails and on the My Picks Page an option to load fewer topics and thumbnails, both will help with page loading. Thank you

Many photographers want to have a link to their work and / or a link to the licence. So it would be fine if we could have copyright and credit fields with optional input fields for links. Yes, I can write this in description, but I think the better place would be copyright and credit fields. Is there any way we could get a new setting in Announcements that would let you select to open a URL link in a new tab or the same tab? I link to a lot of internal pages in my announcements and it is kind of silly to have them open new tabs every time! Also, some formatting for titles and title only would be great! During the last weeks, I received a lot of cloudfront failures when trying to connect to the IPS community website. This occurs once a week during the last month and I have never experienced this before. All other websites work without problems. Today again, invisioncommunity.com hasn't been available for several hours, this just happend the last 3-4 hours. But I can see members posting during that time. What is wrong with your cloudfront settings?

Did i read some where that Facebook is not supported by 4.5 as embeds don't seem to be working any more ? or is it just a case that somethings changed and it is being worked on. Hello, One issue that I noticed today is that when someone clicks on the "Subscribe" button at our subscriptions page (/subscriptions/), a new invoice is ALWAYS generated. This way, we end up with TONS of unpaid invoices created by guests... See below: Right now, we have 106 pages of this. IMHO, the invoice should be created only AFTER the user commits to pay. Cheers.
