Am still struggling with slow queries on my site that the slowquery log says are from the ActiveRecordIterator (4-5 seconds) and vnc (16+ seconds) calls on looking at these queries I see the vnc/ActiveRecordIterator topic query returns stuff like last posters signatures, fb ids, twitter info etc etc 262 fields x 25 ? surely it has to mean quicker results if the results are trimmed down to just essentials for the vnc feature results? what am i missing here ?

Lets make a following few points clear first: No I am not happy with 3.1.4, especially with the Gallery as buggy as it is. I do like the look and feel of 3.2.0 and there is alot I am happy about with it. There are however alot I am not happy about with 3.2.0 I don't like the fact that Avatars are a fixed size. I don't so much mind having to share Profile Photos and Avatars together. I can understand that, and I accept that, that is what IPS wanted to do. HOWEVER I do believe the use should of have the option for it. (Option to move to the new system, keep the old one, etc) I probably would of stayed with the old one to be honest, but that's just me. Constructive feedback: If forums containing 'moved to' topic links are going to count the read status of said topics in an entirely different forum, please differentiate between read and unread 'moved to' topic links. Such links always appear read, which would be fine, except they actually affect the read status of the forum they are in. Even just fading out the read or bolding the unread moved to links would help a lot. Right now it is fairly confusing. Thanks for reading.

When I want to reply pointing at certain member I would type: @somemember There are two issues: 1. If that member exists I'm getting this popup: If I click on that member my text will be hotlinked. I actually don't want it to be hotlinked but there is no way to bypass it. Hitting Enter or whatever button doesn't do anything. 2. If that member doesn't exist I can't proceed to the next line. Pressing Enter doesn't do anything. That's the reason I had to use "code" box to include my example.

Hi, I have enabled referrals and I noticed that since guests cannot access my website, the referral link redirects to the login page. Is there a way to change this so referral links redirect to the registration page instead?

They are kind of a relic and had their purpose; in a pinch to redirect someone to another page / internally or externally. I am feeling that there needs to be a better alternative to forum as links. when you have multiple files attached to a Download its' not obvious which file is the most "current" and there isn't much to prevent the filename to being identical of different attachments. What we need is a highlight on the CURRENT file at the top and then a list of "older files" all of these files need to include the Date Uploaded and the "version number" if provided.

I can move block inside a sidebar, I can move a block from sidebar to main content area but you can't move a block from main content area to the sidebar. The only way to move it form main content area to the sidebar is to remove the block and then use Block Manager to get that block to the sidebar.

From what I understand, the IPB team focus at present is to fix bugs that have been identified in the 4.x releases. I understand that bug fixes are needed and that they will support everyone's use. I also feel that the PAGES functionality is so severely limited in the present release that much of what should be possible to do in PAGES is lacking. So much of the work I put together in 3.4.x is not able to function in the current release and while I might try to break fix some code together and get limited functionality back into my site, that hardly seems reasonable. While I and many of the actual license holders of IPB are happy to see a more open company from IPS, one of the current complaints/issues of non-license users is that parts of the site are closed off. I am not sure if this is legit feedback/complaint or simply wanting to find something to be negative or critical about, but perhaps trying to open up the site a little more to non-users so it doesn't look as if the community has something to hide or what have you. There should be a way to make things purchasable with only a coupon so when the product shows on the store page and the price shows up, instead of showing an actual price seeing as this product doesn't have a cost it would say coupon only. This helps for giveaways ect..

I need to add an option to set the default language based on the setting not based on the visitors machine, developing the board to detect the default language in case of guests is not logical and not preferable in some regions, for example in the Arab countries too many machines its default language is English but the visitors always prefer to visit the websites in Arabic Now IPB default language always inherently obtained from the guests machine unless they set their language in Arabic , I hope there will be any option to set the default language for the guests from the Admin CP

In 3.4, additional IP.Content fields are shown as a table below the body field. In Pages though, they are shown as an inline list under the title. In the topics list, the star icon indicates you have posted in the topic in the past but it's also the icon for "New Content" which is a different beast. It's easy enough to edit (and I'll do that on my install) but just throwing it out there as food for thought. There's a certificate icon in Font Awesome that's more of a NEW! starburst.

Currently the similar content block always shows the same content, Example, on my site I have it set to show 5 results and have more than 5 possible results, it always shows those same 5 similar content results. It should choose from all the similar content results at random and display them, instead of showing the same results. This related to Ticket #920520, and I was directed to make the suggestion here. I just have to share this. I am hosting on IPS, working out of town, on the 4th of July weekend, and my debit card is compromise. So I have no choice but to cancel the card, which is what I use to pay my IPS hosting account, and my account is due on July 6th. I had forgotten about my account being due until this morning, July 5th. I set my daughter up as alternate contact with permissions to pay my account, in doing so I did not see a place to create an account for her, just enter and email address. Lots of long topics have good tips in them. Following the topic is not the best option when you want to mark a post that has a tip in it. Can there be some sort of Favorite option next to the Like button? Will the Content Highlights that is coming soon take care of this? If it will, will there be an option to mark it for yourself only and not notify the member or mark it publicly? (Similar to the anonymous follow option.) Browser bookmarks are not what I am after. Looking for something that is saved within the site so it travels with you and is manageable in our settings. Thanks
