Hello, The classic IP.content view was just fine : a simple table, a field above an other, it was easy to re-order it. A lot of users just asked an option to hide the fields in one click, if they were empty. In this new version, we have those colored tags called "display view format". That would be nice as a "plus", but not instead. And they don't work, anyway : try to use them with a wysiwyig field, nothing appears. IPB developpers are good to code, but not in commerce. I mean, you cannot change everything like that, without listening to your customers. If you want to change something, you keep the old view/options : you add, but you don't delete. You could kill a busin…

Hello! First of all I want to say thanks to the IPS team. Your product is amazing and I love it. But I see problem with communication company with clients in the one very important forum. I've suggestion to improve usefulness of Product Feedback forum. I encountered a problem that you don't respond to our some suggestions and ideas. I'm not saying that you're ignores us, but we can't see your status about our ideas. For example... I've created topic with suggestions about language system on April 19. Everything listed in that topic is very important for me because I'm translator and translating IPS into Russian for free. And translators haven't any places where they can…

I already posted this suggestion(on old IPS 4.0 test installation, which currently unavailable) and this idea was supported by many people, but it still not implemented. So, i've attached some images above. How is it now: More than 80% of space completely not used. There are only 7 scanty thumbnails and nothing else. What i suggest: Pros: 24 images easily fit on one page At same time thumbnails are larger, which makes them more comfortable to view This grid can be adaptive > a very big advantage for mobile users etc... In old topic the benefit was described in more detail, but old board is gone. So if someone have a questions, just ask.

Requested Upgrade on 06/03 Upgrade Started on 06/16 after a delay caused by requirements not at that time updated on IPS's home page Since then we have had two failed upgrade attempts, and now have Tier II patching things by the minute as the server goes up and down with crashes, database lockups and more issues from the massive amount of background tasks that have to run. Each error comes with more delays while I wait for support to get to me and now 8 days later I have a non-functioning community that is down more than up and my members are raising hell and fleeing. My community suite is the core of my site and I am losing a lot of money by not having people on there to…

Hello, is it safe to share IPS4 links containing a csrfKey (or does it contain session data or may expire)? Example is a filter in Bug Tracker here: https://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/?advanced_search_submitted=1&csrfKey=7a972604f3148cb718eff10bae17cbec&content_field_106[1]=3&sortby=record_last_comment&sortdirection=desc What is the right way to put a link to a filtered database URL?

There should be an 'overall' option to see all of your reputation activity. As it is now, you have to filter through the various areas of the site to see where your reputation increases have come from.

I click on "New Content" to see what happened since my last visit. I go through all new topics and then I click on "Mark site as read". I OK the action (not sure what that extra step is for?) and I expect to be redirected to the main page but no, it stays at "New Content" page. It doesn't make sense to me since I only see "There's nothing here yet". Not a surprise since I checked all new stuff already.

Today I was working on a rather critical ticket with IPS, and we are having a hard time duplicating it (though over 20 users have reported the issue). So I am asked are most of my users on Android, rooted. I say yes, though that's not helpful to the search, as their devices haven't changed, the site did with the 4.0 upgrade. I am then greeted by this lovely response: I'm sorry, did I read that correctly?! I'm not sure first of all, how that even applies to an issue with downloading from the site. But secondly, IPS is gonna have a hard time with that business model, as I know and frequent over 20 IPS sites (to whom my friends are owners), where the main demographic of u…

I have a lot of admin notes in 3.4, I need to know if these disappear after the upgrade to 4. Thanks!

Due to a few bugs reported from our community that are due to old devices and browsers, it would be super useful if Invision could publish a minimum set of device/browser requirements for IP4 so that we can let our community know - it would also speed up a lot of the troubleshooting. If this has already been done, where could I find it?

As of right now, the profanity filter is unable to turn a word to a word that has BB code. For example, if you wanted to turn the word "candle" and have it appear as "candle" (bold, underline, italic) this would not be possible. That example alone would not be used by many, however what I was hoping to actually do was be able to turn certain words into URLs. So if someone said (for example) "My favorite search engine is Google" I'd like to be able to have "Google" appear as a URL ( "My favorite search engine is Google") Having the word "Google" be replaced with [url="http://google.com"]Google[/url]Only prints the BB code into the forum post instead of parsing it. (Sam…

Hi there good people, I\m having a odd little problem with the community donations. Currently Admins are the only user group who can donate towards a specific goal, which is not really useful. Can any of you tell me where the permissions for the community donation are set? FYI: This is what all non admins see when they try to donate

Is it possible to rename applications for the menu bar? For example, I'd like to call the Forums application 'Community'. I've looked around the ACP and cannot see a way to adjust the title. If this isn't an option yet, I'd like to suggest it be implemented for greater customisation and flexibility.

If I make a change to a template etc, it's marked as modified with the little m icon. However, if I use the revert button to set the template back to its original state, the template file is still marked as modified. I live in fear of the day that support tells me it can't help with a problem because I've modified the templates, even when I haven't really because I've reverted the minor "will it work if I delete this class?" changes that were made for experiment's sake. Shouldn't it be the case that hitting revert wipes out that modified status too?

It's lovely to see the return of custom feeds with 4.0.9 and that it's possible to give them their own names. I intend to make lots of use out of them! The only problem from my perspective is that my site is multilingual but the title for the custom feed isn't translatable. Whatever title I choose will display the same whichever of the two languages my site is viewed in. Obviously that's not a good thing. Is there any scope for making the titles translatable, please? And whilst I'm talking about this, could such functionality also be extended to the WYSIWYG blocks? I need content on my page but have either to type in both languages and display them both at the same time, …

I really, really, really would like to be able to legally run a test copy of my forums on a non-public accessible location to test upgrades and such. Just yesterday I made a copy of my rather large database and wanted to run a test upgrade from 3.4 to 4.x and found out that is simply not possible. There is a number of problems I could run into while converting and trying this first on a copy of my community is really required! Please make this available for license holders!!

When you sign up for a repeated calender event you sign up for all the events. So in order to prevent this you have to create each calender entry separately to give the users the ability to sign up for each individual event. Hope you can understand what I´m trying to say. Is this behavior really intended or am I doing something wrong?

Statuses were a huge part of our community and what kept it engaging for other users. IPB has severely crippled the Status Update feature... no longer do status comments appear on the main index, nor is it possible to leave a reply from the index block, you need to load the person's profile to do that (which is another issue as that requires possibly loading a HQ cover photo, increasing page load). I understand this may have been removed because IPB feels statuses are better incorporated into their new "Followers" and "Activity Stream" features, but my community just isn't interested in these features. It's a forum not Facebook. I hope we can get some kind of firm reply…

I really wish you could implement automatic image resizing for image uploading in both the forums and gallery. That is probably the number one question I get from my users when their image won't upload, and and it would be so much better if the admin could just set maximum dimensions and file sizes, and if the file was too big, it would just be reduced down and not rejected.

Often I make an edit one at a time to narrow something, but for each save I'm taking out of the page I'm editing and back to the list. For example, I change a color in Themes ("Front-End Colors") and when I click "Save" I'm redirected out of that page and back to the list of themes. Can we have an option to "Save and Reload" when editing in ACP?

After upgrading I noticed that old posts converted every line break <br> into a <p> tag. I understand the use of the <p> tags, but a <br> is not the same thing and it wasn't used as a paragraph in old posts, why convert it to a paragraph. Why not leave it as a single line break? The problem is if you had posts like this (using line breaks): Little baby Oh so small One day you will be big and tall I watch you while you laugh and play My love for you grows everyday I tell you this with my whole heart I love you just the way you are Now it looks like this: Little baby Oh so small One day you will be big and tall I watch you while you laugh and pla…

This one is pretty amusing and I've seen it happen a lot on this site. 1) A person asks a question. 2) A person answers the question. 3) The person who asks the question says thank you and then clicks the "Mark Solved" button on their own post because..well...the question is now solved. lol
