I'm surprised this isn't default or I just can't find it. If it's not, then I would add this as a feature suggestion. I like the profile completion setup but don't see a way to have certain items be required by user group. There may be certain items of information to collect from certain user groups only and omit other user groups, specifically if you are using custom profile fields.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered before but after doing a search I was unable to find any topics on the subject. How do you remove "index.php" from the url? I have my mysite.com/index.php/forums, mysite.com/index.php./blogs, mysite.com/index.php/gallery, etc. and would like the urls to be mysite.com/forums, mysite.com/blogs and so on, just like the urls here. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm trying to install IPS V4.0 Forums onto my server (running Ubuntu 14.04). Once I've done the initial setup (all checks were passed), after the progress bar completes and the database has been installed/populated, the page refreshes (without the progress bar reaching 100% completion) and I'm taken to a blank white page, URL path is: /admin/install/index.php?controller=install&mr=["3","core"] It stays blank. If I go back to my home URL, I get the following error message: I've tried changing perms on all files and folders to 777. I'd like to report that while I am still experiencing a little tenderness from my root canal upgrade to 4.3.3 (and now 4.3.4), my system is almost back to normal, barring one anomaly that is still under an open ticket. That's the one about not being able to cull members who haven't logged in for the past 3 years that was supposed to be fixed in the 4.3.4 upgrade. My member filter system doesn't seem to be working at all anymore. Hopefully a simple fix form @Matt will resolve it. I've often been a PITA (pain in the ass) on these forums over different issues, just my nature I guess, but I'm always one to give praise when it's due; and it's due. I contacted support over an issue, mainly of my own making (hands up to that) when deciding which software to use for two completely different projects; I made a mistake in which one to choose and realised it only after I started developing. IPS was better suited to one particular project; without the support of the IPS staff that project could have been held up for months. If referral links were automatically used when the user hit the social "share" buttons there would be a strong incentive to share website content. The current system is pretty much useless. The system should simply allow a property to be added to any link like this: www.mysite.com/community/files/file/43-myfile?referrer=userid Then people have an incentive to click "share" on every blog, image, and other item and your content gets spread across social networks, bringing in more visitors and revenue.

Like some other communities, I've noted a slight decline in registrations over the years as social media has pervaded through society. My registrations stats in the ACP showed this decline. However, now it shows that registrations have in fact been increasing. This is not correct and would leave one to a false conclusion that registrations are experiencing a growth. The culprit? I believe it's the prune members feature introduced for GDPR, by way of an unintended consequence. This makes the registration stats useless for anything longer than the data retention period. A minor inconvenience, but that graph was useful to monitor performance over time.

Every time I upgrade I run into issues (FYI which is why I don't keep my version, or my license, current most of the time, IPS). So this morning I decide to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.3. I pay for my license renewal expecting good things to happen, but alas at about 90% of the way through unzipping in ACP the thing just stops. I leave it for about 30 minutes, but it's pretty obvious that something has gone wrong. So I refresh the page. Now I have a white screen on both the front end and the back end. When you load a site, noticeably blinking Guest Terms. I did a benchmark test on several sites using which Guest Terms. See snapshots of this loading. 1. Guest Terms are depicted 2.Guest terms disappear from the screen. 3. Guest terms are restored to the screen. Please remove this issue. This creates a delay in the loading site. thanks

IPS should allow for all members to be billed at the same time (ex. the first of the month) to better enable a subscription model that comes with a product. For instance, my company sends a print book every three months. We would like to bill all members on the 1st day of each quarter, but as it stands can only bill them every three months as of the day they signed up. This leads to all sorts of logistical issues.

In method _exchangeAuthorizationCodeForAccessToken we have just throw new \IPS\Login\Exception( 'generic_error', \IPS\Login\Exception::INTERNAL_ERROR ); if something happened with $response. Now I implement Sony Playstation Network OAuth2 and got non-standard answer at this responce in HTML, not json. So decodeJson() on the response returned NULL and nothing logged in $responce checks. Will be much better, if this method will check \RuntimeException throwing on the $response and log plain response if it not json. Would it be possible if the suite could use Textarea's for Descriptions rather than textboxes in Forms? For example. in CMS, the Database Form uses a Textarea field and keeps the formatting. Yet, the Database Category Form uses a 'Textbox' field and strips formatting (in some cases Textarea boxes will remove the formatting and breaks). I would like to be able to add descriptions to many other area's of the suite in the same way I can with Forums, ie, more than one line, with formatting and breaks ? Cheers,

Hi just updated from v3.4 to v4.28 and most issues can be sorted but one main issue I and my users are having is using the forum on mobile phone or small devices. This just does not work and looks a mess to be quite honest, the old mobile theme was compact and basic but easy to use and navigate through the forum. The new responsive theme just does not work there is just to much scrolling trying to browse though the forum, for example when you have lots of sub forums as with my forum there's just an endless list of forums. you wear your finger out scrolling through them. its not good to say the least!!!
