Hi everyone, I have a quick question, but I don't know where to actually put it. We have a number of members in our community that are no longer active, but it has been our policy to never delete members unless they specifically request it. Is it possible to allow a member to add themselves to an "Inactive" group if they know they aren't going to be active for a while? If it is, how do I set this up? I'd like to set it so if someone is a member of the inactive group, that they don't receive bulk emails, nor do they receive notifications regarding any thread/post updates that they may have subscribed to. Is this possible?

On our forums, which we host ourselves, we are running Invision Community v4.3.2 using default Theme 4.2 Today at around 11am gmt what appears to be a "Popular Now" Widget appeared next to all threads (see this thread and this screenshot) We can not find any option in v4.3.2 to configure this widget, and nobody here changed anything as far as we know, it just appeared. Our forums are here https://forum.affinity.serif.com and you already have an admin account called "IPS Temp Admin" How do we turn this unpopular feature off?

Hey all, Thanks for reading; just looking for a bit of guidance on how exactly I can solve an issue I'm having. I have custom coded a few custom profile options to be given to those that contribute to the website, using the IPS included Custom Profile Fields functionality. Everything works in terms of the custom options themselves, but the issue I'm having is that only the people who have access to the specific perk themselves can view it. For example, people who are default members and people who are logged out of the site cannot see the custom options. Hi all, Searches take pretty long on my forum and it honestly can't imangine this to be because of a lack of resources (12 cores, 36Gb ram). My Database is around 4GB and my numbers are : 80k users, 65k topics, 1 200k posts. So without being a huge forum it seems to me it is quite a "big "forum. I have around 10k pages views per day. Does anyone uses a hosted Elastisearch service on a forum of a similar size ? Of course AWS free offer seems interesting but how do i know if the sizing is right ?

Hi, I have a problem right off the bat with my upgrade process. I have launched the upgrade process and first off the upgrader switched off to the UTF-8 converter tool which gives me this error: "Error: Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes File: /system/Db/Db.php Line: 198" My forum has been converted to UTF8 when it was being upgraded to 3.1.4 back in 2011. The cmd-line tool released by IPS in 2011 was used to convert the whole database to UTF8 from something swedish was successfully used. Took a long time and a lot of effort but everything succeeded. Hi, in my theme I have customized the background color of the website, so that it is different from the default. When I add an WYISWYG widget (Pages) to the website, the widget misses the CSS class ipsBox. It means that there is literally no box (borders or background) like in other widgets. Hi, I tried to make some group promotion rules where: inactive members are moved into another group if they don not post anything in a month. All good at this point but if they make some posts I want them moved back in the previous group and I didn't saw a solution for that. members who reach a certain numbers of post are moved into a premium group for 3 days for example and after I want them back in the previous group. This can be done only with group promotions or i need a plugin?

Any clue guys, how to code a popup that opens by clicking on a hyperlink? We have an important question that we just like to display in registration page in form of a link and when someone click on that link, it should open a popup showing the answer, so that reader can read and close the popup and still stay on the same page. I have two seperate sites, https://accursedfarms.com and https://gorillagong.com Both sites have gone down and show an IPB error stating Two separate sites running two separate installations of IPB on two separate databases, no updates, no new plugins, no new themes, no edits, no server updates, no messing with folder perms, absolutely nothing at all changed and they're both down at the same time. All of my other sites work. I've literally not touched them at all, and they've both went down at the same time with the same error. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, It seems that we have new notifications, all of them are "cleared" (or marked as read) when you click on the bell in the upper right corner. I have to say vbulletin behaviour was better because each notification was cleared individually either when you read it or when you read the post or topic concerned. Is there any way to reproduce this behaviour ? This may be the only thing we miss from vbulletin :).

I reached out to customer support and they told me they couldn't answer my question because this is a matter of customization to the software's theme. I replaced my logo with a white background. Now the text on the right side where you sign in and get to your profile is white, and you can't see it. How can I change that text color so someone can see it to sign in? Thank you for any help you can offer.

Hi, I notice that there is no description or anything, for the frontend of my forum. Topics have it, how would I make a 'fallback' so when there is no meta tag, i.e description - it would fallback to something? The meta tag system allows me to do this, but it would override absolutely all existing tags it seems.

I want to show a snippet to the admin group only in different database templates (Pages). It's such a small line I rather not have to use a block. This code isn't working: {{if \IPS\Member::loggedIn()->member_group_id === 4}} This content only shows to members in the "Administrators" group (ID 4 in our example) {{endif}} Assuming the variables are slightly different for Pages vs the theme.
