moved to IPS several years back and have the 'convert' app still installed - once i convert to 4 is it safe to remove this app? does it need to be maintain to do mappings from the legacy forum to IPS 3x? Do i need to maintain the legacy documents at the site root: showtopic.php / showforum.php and the old config.php from the conversion should i delete the app ( and the database) before upgrade to 4?

I am trying my best to create a plugin I need, I'm not a dev, when I am doing this coding I kinda feel like a fish out of water. That said, can any dev tell me what Class I extend to tap Topics. I am trying to hide topics per group in a single forum. So, that is my question, what Class do I extend and tap into, the rest I will try and muddle through myself.

Anyone using the Easy Mode option to create a theme might want to think twice. Have tried using this a few times now and seem to always find at some point it will not save (build) the theme and get an error message 'There was a technical problem saving this theme' No matter what I do it will not save and so all the work done changing colors (buttons, header, even own custom.css is lost as cannot save and so have to start all over again which for me is a complete waste of time) Am using RC7a and this still happens

Hi so i was using ip.content as my default page and i was using htaccess mod rewrite so i decided to install wordpress as my website main page and moving ip.board to another folder /forum " so after i moved my ip.board and to another folder and installing wordpress now i can no longer use forums or going to admin panel or anything else the only thing that works is ip.content because its the default page if i click on forum the page goes back to wordpress with 404 page not found error http://demonlords.net/forum/ i have already changed URL in conf_global.php to http://demonlords.net/forum/ also i have tried to change "ccs" back to "forums" if i do that my forum load…

I deleted my files on the server as I had to many old plugins ect in there. So deleted everything on the server then uploaded just the files required for the forum / gallery and calandar . Hi I have a dev board set up and I want to disable all emails from being sent from the dev board during the testing phase. I had just edited the email settings in the ACP to enter fake ones however this causes other errors. Can anyone advise how best to disable emails completely so we can test without our membership getting a whole host of emails from us during the testing phase that will work with IPB4 Thanks

Its happened 3 times now. I add blocks such as recent posts, then sidebar blocks for latest gallery info, whos online, forum stats then after about 24 hours, they all disapear and I'm having to add them all back. They only disapear from the home page, when looking at a post, the sidebar which I added to that is still there, Strange!

It's a fairly large site, and there's a fairly extensive liswt of things that need to be done. For those that use the custom fields a great deal, is there any way to get them to show up on the front end with their text (like it shows on the back-end, very fancy-like )? My customers will be filling in several important custom fields and it would be great for them to also be able to see what they chose down the road and wouldn't end up not knowing what I'm responding about if they forget one of the fields they selected. Kind of disappointed that's not just automatically there...unless I missed something? Hugely appreciate any ideas/anything I missed Thanks

I would like to know how to disable attachments. In IPB 3.x.x it could be done, but in ips 4.0 it's only showing how to NOT DOWNLOAD attachments. I would like to prevent my users from attaching attachments how can I do this? I would like to disable for ALL forums

Hi there, I'm a current customer of IP Board 3.4.6 and looking to move my forum to a new domain. It seems like this is a great opportunity to create a copy of my exisiting 3.4.6 forum on the old domain and move it to the new one with 4.0 and test it out before announcing the move. It is a private, paid community of a few hundred so literally I will send messaging to them when the change comes to the new domain as it is part of larger rebrand of the product the forum is part of. My question is what is the best way to go about this? Should I copy the forum to the new domain and then upgrade it accordingly?

Hi On my dev board which is running RC7 when posting I get an EX2 error if replying to a topic that already exists. If I create a new topic it posts fine. In addition some topics don't cause the issue. I have been through the support - it has corrected a few database errors, cleared the cache and removed whitespace from a couple of files but still the issue persists. Any thoughts or help? Thanks
