Last week began the week with a problem of slowness evident in the Web platform, the strange thing of all this is that only the loading of the pages (the whole site) was very slow, the database with arta load of memory use . As a side effect, the automatic tasks started to fail, they did not run and it had a huge list of outstanding background processes. The identification of the problem led me to query the table ibf_core_search_index, but very often. the amount of online user was in normal parameters. | 44464 | xxxxx | localhost | xxxxx | Prepare | 511 | Waiting for table metadata lock | / * IPS \ Content \ Search \ Mysql \ _Query :: filterForProfile: 240 …

I migrated a lab instance of my site to an Ubuntu 14.04 server and have pretty much everything ironed out except one last hangup with permissions. Am wondering if anyone else has run into this or has any ideas Essentially the software only seems very happy when I have the Apache user as both file owner and group owner. If I make my Ubuntu user the file owner, not so happy. I can leave the site running under this config and just change ownership to my Ubuntu user when I need to upload or edit something, but it seems to me there's probably a better way or something elementary that I'm missing in setting this up I've added my user to the Apache group and the Apach…

Hi I thought I could simply change my database password and update the config file and be fine. However, I did so and my site was serving up offline errors. So I changed it back to the old password and all is fine again. What else needs changed?

I want to set up CloudFront and automatic site backups to S3. Would appreciate tremendously if you could comment and correct me: 1. In ACP--Files--Storage Settings--Configuration--Storage method (edit File System), I select Amazon S3, put the Bucket name and AWS end point. 2. I entered the Bucket name, endpoint, the access and secret keys, then my site is immediately broken. What am doing incorrectly? Thank you.

PHP: 7.2.16 MariaDB: 5.5.5-10.0.38-MariaDB After going live with the new server I've been getting a lot of Error 500...A lot. The downtime can be several minutes to many hours at a time, and happens every day. I did not have these kind of issues/downtimes on the old server. I suspect that when the PHP was upgraded the custom settings were reset. Therefore I'm getting the Error 500. Are there any PHP configurations, like memory, or time out, that I should set? Any other suggestions?

I am currently running v3.4.6. I recently contacted my website host about an issue unrelated to my forum and they replied with: One thing I wanted to make you aware of, your account is currently set to PHP version 5.6. We did this because your existing website (specifically the forums) is not compatible with a higher version. PHP versions 7.0 and earlier are all End of Life, and will not be receiving security patches, etc. from the PHP working group. Is there anyway your developer can update your forums so that we can move your account up to PHP 7.1? This will not only improve security, but will also improve page load times for all websites on your account (PHP has…

Could someone explain this to me? I asked my host to install it, they say it's running, but I can't select it. Via the ACP it just tells me it's not installed on my server.

Well I've had a fair bit of skule in my life and also youniversitey but all of this Google and indexing stuff is completely scrambling my brains. I would really like to begin simply with some explanations so if anyone has the time I'd be really grateful. Can anyone tell me what "excluded" means and why 1.04 million pages are presently excluded and what does it mean when it says that 295,000 are called but currently not indexed? Also, although I took the screenshot this morning – 21st of March – the last entry is dated 16 March and it has been like that for the past three days or so. Has it ground to a halt? And why? Also, on our forum we have about 5 million pos…

My community is online, but many of the images and JS are failing to load. The browser console shows images having an error: kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 303 Some basic googling indicates this is some sort of caching issue. I use memcache and I also use Cloudflare. But when I clear the IPS cache (using the Support link, which automatically clears things), and when I put CF into "development mode" (where it bypasses the cache)... the behavior doesn't change. Anybody familiar with how to troubleshoot / approach this?

I just upgraded my MariaDB to 10.3.13 and found no issues, everything seemed fine. So I next updated my first 4.4.1 IPS site to use PHP7.3 after rebuilding Apache 2.4 and adding PHP7.3 to it (I kept 7.2 for my other sites for now). I've checked all the options are correct in the Multi PHP and PHP-FPM Settings in WHM. I've checked conf_global and constants and they look normal. My IPS 4.4.1 no longer works, I just get a 500 server error. PHPMyAdmin finds no errors when analysing the DB. Has anyone else had this after updating to PHP7.3? Many thanks!

Is there an option to mass-download a Gallery / Galleries on IPS? I have a website closing at midnight (not run by me) and am trying to save images, but am running out of time! Is there a way to mass-download images in full size with one-click?

This question is mainly for those with community that has large number of files note: I am aware that S3 do not recommend using it as file system what script do you use? e.g s3fs have you experienced any problem? what files do you store externally? e.g downloads I am pretty sure it is the case, does loading a page with many images incur multiple GET requests? is there a way to remap domain to make it appear that file is served from your app server? how much has it reduce your server cost?

I need to type this out to fully understand myself what I'm trying to accomplish. I have a webserver running nginx on www.example.com. Static assets are hosted on Amazon S3 (storage configuration set up in ACP) cnamed to cdn.example.com. I previously used Cloudflare on both S3 and the webserver, but I'm trying out some other solutions to see if there is any difference. What I want to do is: I want nginx to fetch static assets from S3, then process them with PageSpeed and cache them locally. I have a working nginx setup where assets are fetched from S3 and cached locally, but I have not yet tried with PageSpeed in the mix. Would it be as simple as adding the…

Hello, I have a forum with 170k+ topics and 2.200.000+ posts. Unfortunatelly, a lot of this content, over the years, became useless and I think this content only cluter the search, database and etc... I was thinking if there's someway to safely mass remove topics that have ZERO activity in the last couple of years... Someone done it ? What sql query did you use ? Please, any help would be appreciated...

Hi, I noticed that after upgrading to 4.4.x Photo Threads with many pages load extremely slow. Much slower than with version 4.3. In version 4.3 it took max. 1-2 seconds, in version 4.4.x much longer. This is the thread e.g. https://www.polar-chat.de/hunde/topic/86602-euer-lieblingsbild-des-tages/ Lazy Load = on Remote images = no difference whether all or only insecure

After last weeks EPIC FAIL with a 4.4 upgrade I have decided to get a proper test site up and running. I will test fire changes there before blowing up my live site (again). Why didn't I do this in the first place you ask? Well because getting a cloned version of IPS to work is a pain in the butt. I never could get one to work, and I tried. This time I am determined. Here is what I have done so far. copied all of my site files into a nested test folder within my main domain. (should keep my ssl from causing me issues)https:// www.mysite.com/forum/test made a test version of my data base and connected my test site config file to it. also u…
