Hi, I recently upgraded my forum from version 3.4 to the latest version. This process also updated mysql. Today I received an email from my host telling my my database is too big, and I have a current size of 761 MB and reached the limit of 400 MB. How can I reduced the database size? Never had this problem before. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi all i will be moving over to IPS next week. I am currently running xenforo and use this in my .htaccess file. Will this be fine to use in ips .htaccess files as well. I am experiencing issues since moving to a https / secure connection, but don't know if it's related. Once it gets to the point I have 900-1000 on my site (going by real time stats on analytics) my site stops loading up despite server load and memory usage being low. It says 'establishing secure connection' for around 20-30 seconds and then times out. It only starts to load again once the number has reduced to around 800. I don't believe this happened before I switched to https. Does the free cPanel certificate that my hosts use have any limits that could cause this? Any ideas why this happens?

Hello, Can anyone share a good configuration they use to test their boards on localhost? The default one is very slow for me. Takes more than 8 hours to import a database. If someone can maybe share their configuration and what works well for them? Any help is appreciated!

I had been using PHP 5.3 for some time and since 4.1.19 had a suggestion about upgrading to a higher PHP version, I started upgrading things to be able to upgrade to highest version available. First I upgraded to EasyApache4, then to PHP 7.1 . At first I thought everthing was working fine till I realised that Opcache was not I realised that PHP 7.1 did not have a DSO handler option and Opcache was not supported on suexec and cgi. Googling a bit I found that PHP-FPM was mostly used and recommended and found a way to switch to it. I want to give my members who contribute to downloads an easy URL to distribute. I am thinking it can be done with rewrites in the niginx config file but not sure how to make it work. Recently converted our old forum from an old snitz board with 160,000 posts and had to do it on localhost because of errors and timeouts. Now I need to put it all online. Can I just copy all of the files from local host to server and publish 450MB database. Besides conf_global.php and updating license key is there anything else I need to know or do? Also can I change the key after as it's in the CP? BTW: To convert from snitz was mssql convert to mysql then import to phpbb2 with scripts then parse data with scripts then convert to phpbb3 then convert ipb4 then parse posts data again with scripts. I installed memcache on my server but when switching to it in ACP I get "You must provide at least one server.". The server address I entered is : 127.0.0.1:11211 I checked to see if memcache is running with the following command: ps ax | grep memcached | grep -Ev grep which returns: 29969 ? Hi My community runs on Mariadb 10.1, PHP 7. I recently converted all tables to InnoDB, and confirmed all tables and columns are utf8mb4 after running the "enable utf8mb4" option in admin. After running the utf8mb4 I still see the enable utf8mb4 option in admin. I have some feed pages with 9 rss feeds per page. But loading is an issue if no one has visited the page in a little while as the new widget caches are pulled. So I am wondering how best to go about using a cron job to load urls for me every 5 minutes or so. Therefore making sure no one gets slow loading as the cron will pull the new cache. I came up with this but I need someone who knows what they are doing to help. wget -r -l 3 -O - http://url >/dev/null 2>&1 ^^ will this work?

Hi I am working on a move from MySQL to MariaDB. At the same time I want to tidy my database. I hope you can help? My DB is 5.5.54. I plan to upgrade to MariaDB 10.1 in stages (Mysql to 5.5.54 to MariaDB 5.5.54, then to MariaDB 10.1). I will also be starting on Amazon Linux and ending on CentOS. Hello I'm no expert on this and usually just follow any guides that google chucks out. I haven't found a guide that works as it seems that memcache/d doesnt fully work with php7.1 yet. I have tried to install it via the whm software pecl installer, but it gives me an error everytime. Has anyone managed to do this yet ?
