Posted October 29, 20177 yr My server seems to be hosting about 6 databases, and I want to erase the unnecessary ones. I'm correct in assuming IPS only uses 1 database, right? I mean what would be the point of having more than 1? (sorry if the question is ridiculous, I inherited the site, which existed for about 10 years before I got it, and it and went through a bunch of transformations over the years) Edited October 29, 20177 yr by RobotMonkeyHead
October 29, 20177 yr Yep. You can find out which one it is by looking at your conf_global.php file and seeing what the value for 'sql_database' is.

November 21, 20177 yr Just one note in case anyone else comes across this in the future - if you use the 'archiving' feature in the forums application it is possible to store the archived posts in a remote database. You would check this in the AdminCP under Community > Forums > Settings.
