Does IPS use more than 1 database?

Featured Replies

My server seems to be hosting about 6 databases, and I want to erase the unnecessary ones.
I'm correct in assuming IPS only uses 1 database, right?
I mean what would be the point of having more than 1?

(sorry if the question is ridiculous, I inherited the site, which existed for about 10 years before I got it, and it and went through a bunch of transformations over the years)

Yep. You can find out which one it is by looking at your conf_global.php file and seeing what the value for 'sql_database' is.

One database only. :-)

Just one note in case anyone else comes across this in the future - if you use the 'archiving' feature in the forums application it is possible to store the archived posts in a remote database. You would check this in the AdminCP under Community > Forums > Settings.
