Can you add the ability to edit the item on category view when you select the item ? Today we need to enter in the item and go to Actions -> Edit. Obviously the edit item (probably the pencil) should appear if only one item is selected. Thank you.

So this is me ranting. This is by far THE WORST experience with support here I've had. Here's the background: Since upgrading to IPS4, my site's downloads function is dead. I don't know what it is (even after many hours of looking at the SQL DB and PHP files, since I had to take things into my own hands), thus the support ticket. I opened that ticket Thursday around 7:30 PM EST. Well, no response from IPS for 24 hours, until I get a message it's been escalated. Great! Well, not so great. It's now Tuesday, no response other than escalation response, and still no downloads system. My web host however, responds within 30 minutes (even on weekends), even just to tell me he ca…

Hi guys, as this is kind of urgent for our community and support is really, really slow atm (opened ticket 3 days ago) I would like to ask you for assistance! Our Website is using pages for game related news about Crowfall (upcoming MMO but doesn't matter). This database is broken in some weird way. We can add entries (articles) via ACP, we see those posts on the front page and have access to the post itself. Blog RSS import should be group function not global so our premium groups can use it only. Like in 3.4. This changes our membership details/enticements. Being able to automatically sync or import Facebook statuses is a great feature, but unfortunately, the default is set to "Do not sync my status" for individual users and there's no option to globally change that setting by default for new members. It would be nice to be able to change this default setting or a least have it set to automatically import statuses by default.

So I was happening through trying to re-add one of my blocks (I used to have a completely custom sidebar) when I realized that I cannot have some of my features back as easily as they should be. This ties in with my previous request where I'm looking for page variables to be passed into blocks: I have used (quite a many times) contextual blocks that display based on certain aspects of either the end user or the page itself. For example, if a topic is locked I want to display a message that tells the member reading it that if they are interested in the subject to create a new topic. When I add "Customizable Topic Feed" or a "Customizable Post Feed" it seems odd that there is no option to change the title of that block. What is the point of being able to customize a topic feed if the title of the block always says "Topics". What if I want two custom post feeds on one page, like say, "Boy Topics" and "Girl Topics". Right now, there is no option to name the blocks, so they will both appear as just "Topics" and "Topics". Because of this, I'm not using any custom post feeds. Can you guys fix this?

Hi, I am interested in being able to post either a topic (first post only) or a file (download) anonymously, in the beginning, and later having a mod change it to the true poster. Is that possible? I know that in 3.x there was a plugin for topics/posts only but not maintained anymore. This is needed because we are conducting contests and we don;t want members to know who posted what and later we reveal the true poster. thanks

I know the setting to override the newsletter/mailing list email setting was removed awhile ago, but some of us have legitimate uses for this. For example, I receive security update emails from IPS, but I have this setting off: Send me news and information (unchecked) Enabling this option will add you to our mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time. So IPS must not be using their own software, or how do we get those emails? Do they have an override mod? I know they removed it because they also host communities, and it can be abused, and then the host gets in trouble. But in this case, they could just remove it from the hosted version, and keep it in the self-hosted. …

I've noticed some (maybe the new ones) embedded internal links have the prefix Reply to. Why not just the title? I figured this was some new way to jump to the reply box but nope. Sounds like an action. What if we just want to read it? What if it is locked does it detect that and change the language since you can't reply? I suppose it is easy to remove if we don't like it. A full secure ssl connection (https) continues to become an important aspect for any website. Not just for security, but also seo ranking, and the peace of mind from your users. Google has publicly stated they will favor sites using full https. Browsers also have made it painfully clear and obvious when a site isn't fully secure. I think it would be a great benefit for IPB to have an image proxy system. Disabling hotlinking will only make your site less user friendly. People instinctively want to link a photo from somewhere else and they're not all willing or are unable to learn how to upload.

Hey guys, I'm wondering how I can make a clean installation of IPS 4 on my home computer on localhost. I just downloaded the new files IPS 4.0.8.1 and wanted to install them on my home computer on localhost (I use UniServer for this) but I got stuck very quickly when I had to provide my license key (which I do have off course for my live board) and got rejected with following message : "An installation has already been activated for this license key. Your license key entitles you to one installation only. If you need to change the URL associated with your license, contact IPS technical support." Thanks in advance for any support on this. Frank

Creating a database requires an index (by categories or record list). Screenshots below. Show categories Show record list I'd like an option for no index. There are some cases when I want to create single dynamic pages (like Updates, working projects like docs, profiles, etc.). It would be nice to have an editor to go with that page. At the current state I can create static pages that requires editing via ACP or file. Having an editor on the page itself will make things so much easier and efficient. Can this be a feature?

I would really appreciate it if there was a way to have blocks getting variables from the pages they are implemented on (at least some sort of option when creating the block) because I have a thing on my site in the Calendar where we hold contests to have people display their site's image in the calendar (sort of like a standard calendar) and I can tell you already that this is going to be a very lengthy code as the years go on and my calendar will be hating it eventually... Basically what I had done before was I created a custom HTML block that used the variables from the calendar to determine that it's the correct month (and year) to display the image that is presented.…

Found a bulk email problem a few weeks back and contacted support for assistance, the problem had to go to tier 2 for thier attention and the problem was quickly resolved. This weekend I upgraded to 4.0.8.1 and broke it again, the problem was quickly identified and rectified. All I can say is thank you and very well done to all the support and programming staff on a brilliant job. Thank you all. Kevin.

Can you add fields Author Name, Author URL and Update Check URL to language pack settings page and xml-file?Can you add possibility to sort, filter and search language string by app/plugin name (Source column)? I just see in Pages Wiki-style editing is not have any Differences with IP.Content. You can enable this feature and members can edit records from that database and nothing more. i have some idea for Improve this ability on Pages: You must know when your article or your following article become edited, moved, locked or deleted. For any action on the following article in Wiki style, you must receive a notification. this is very important in wiki system to know your following article have been edited from another users. following a article now is just a simple notification about new comment or review maybe. I noted that you had it in category view for a few days, and I didn't like that. So **in secret** I wanted you to change back to how it was with the "plain text document"-style. I see that you've refreshed the look now, and I really really like it on desktop. Nice job, @Rikki (I assume he did it). I'm still not quite fond of what seems to be your default mobile look in circumstances where you have such menu styles; where you'll get this huge menu list at the top before you then have to scroll down to the actual contents. I think it should collapse into a dropdown then or just show the selected menu item at the top and then have a "Expand"-button to display all the others.…

Has anybody yet correctly utilised SSO authentication? In Version 3 we used the ssoPublicSessions method of SSO, but haven't (yet) spotted anything to point to SSO in version 4.
