Hi guys, I've recently upgraded the local test version of our community to v4 to see what I'm in for before going live with it. One of the things I've noticed so far is that the display of double-byte Unicode characters has become messed up. Well, one that I've found so far, anyway. Pre-conversion: Håkan Post-conversion: HÃ¥kan Now, I was able to paste the correct version in successfully, to both here and my test community. But straight out of the database, there's something amiss with the converted original data. Any ideas? Kev

Hello everybody. I´m in the process of converting my vbulletin board to ips. And there are only a few things left. For example, what can I do to use a standard bbcode of vBulletin for tables? So I enabled my site for full https in addition to http, and the site can never manage to get the urls right. It seems most urls will change to HTTP or HTTPS, but a few don't seem to change properly based on what protocol the site was loaded as. Any modern script should support this properly. Also, the system the script uses for guest caching results in another issue. If someone loads an HTTPS page, the script caches the result of that and serves the page with HTTPS urls in it to any non-HTTPS user who comes later, causing issues with cross-site requests and stopping things from loading correctly. This also works the other way, where if a page is loaded with HTTPS shortly…

Hi Just to make sure, we missed two or three new versions so we have on the admin homepage many lines with the new versions 409 4.010 etc and then a "download button" Do we just have to download and then update the files, thats all ? no need to update to the first version then to the next one etc ? A few months back I was trying out the archive feature, just playing around as I do, I ended up unarchiving everything as I wasn't able to move the topics to other boards as I was adjusting the board structure. I now want to run the archive again, moving old topics into a separate database although it doesn't seem possible to rearchive topics. Is there any unofficial way to reset the archive status across the forum so I can run this again or am I screwed now?

Hello, currently our downloads running into "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 123207708 bytes) in /var/www/forum.aerosoft.com/system/Http/Request/Sockets.php on line 169" but the size in the php info file is already higher, also i dont see the sockets.php line 169 cause the problem at all.

On my last site it was a pain, I am by no means a computer technician, about the only help one can get from IPS is 'Go to Commerce - Setup - Gateway' and click link. Upon doing so there is the new PayPal application development site, nothing like it was. and when you create an application there is a crap-ton of options none of which were the likes of before. One can get lost extremely easily, if at all possible, if anyone is interested. Would anyone be willing to help walk me through this new process so I do it correctly. Thank you again in advance for this help. Because I am completely lost as to where to begin, what to click, and who to talk to.

I upgraded from 4.0.9 to 4.0.10.2. After completing some javascript files appear to be missing in the /uploads/javascript_global folder. None of the jquery and javascript things work, including in admin control panel. Is there a way to rebuild the javascript files?

Following the update to IPB4, i see that instead of going to the latest post in a topic, it will go to the last page of a topic and you've to scroll down. Is this the intended behaviour and is it possible to change it?

I wouldn't notice since I don't care about number of my posts but some of my members are upset. This is taken from wayback machine snapshot, March 15th, 2015: If I look at my board now my post count is at 18,152 posts (36,889 posts above). I checked other members from the above list and same issue exists. I'm now with 4.0.10.2 and I'm not sure which upgrade caused it. Possibly the initial one from 3.4 to 4.x

Hello, how can I disable the text preview in email notifications? I want the user to visit my forum and not to follow everything in offline emails. Is it possible to get only one notification until the user visits the site again? One email for every post makes no sense at my forum and the user are not used to that. Hey everyone, I'm having a problem where Administrators, as well as all of my user groups cannot use the search functionality pertaining to the "members" function. All other search features appear to work, but when anyone attempts to search for users, Error Code: EX-100 appears. I'm probably missing something very obvious, but can't see it, so any help is appreciated.

On my IPB4 dev server I updated my test forum to the latest 4.0.10.X version. I have an SSL on the test forum (as I do my live site) and the upgrade has broken this, somewhere. Unsure where, but now all my pages are white with no styling from the theme. The url in conf_global.php was reset to http:// so I went ahead and changed it back to https:// but I can't recall what else I had to do to get an SSL to work with IPB4 originally and can't find it using the search function on this forum...
