multiple smilies in a row

I've noticed that in the new version of IPS it's harder to type multiple emoticons in a row like that: . And some emotional visitors of my forum used to like to type tens of smilies in a row.

In IPB3 it was easy but in IPS4 this pop-up window with smilies tend to disappear too quick.

As far as I understand, the easiest way is to make some custom HTML buttons with code like this: < img title=":lol:" alt=":lol:" src="xxxxxx/uploads/emoticons/default_icon_lol.gif" />
Is there any other way? For instance, to prevent the pop-up window from disappearing to quick.
