I'm displaying content in a template depending on the member language. {{$member = \IPS\Member::loggedIn();}} {{if $member->language == 2}} Message A {{else}} Message B {{endif}} This works for logged in members, but is there a way to determine the language for guests?

Hello, Recently we upgraded our forum to 4.1.7. After I executed some the recommended security settings in the security centre members are not allowed to open content that is linked in a post. See attached screen shots. Please can some one advise me how to solve this issue? Thank you, Walter

Anyone have a copy installed on localhost? I wanting to install on local to look at old skins with the thought of upgrading them to 4.0. I need to have a functioning 1.3 but the sm installer file dies when run.

So I uploaded a file into an upload field... and well, files get names that are not user friendly. Is there a way to rename the file when the user downloads it? Like for instance give it the name of the record it's inserted in.

I use a cookie to help with a few small features outside of the forum and it always worked like a charm. I haven't seem the same system option for a site cookie here in 4 unless its tucked aways somewhere. Anyone know if it is still there or a way to activate it?

We moved all of our files (for the most part) to Amazon S3 today and next we want to setup CloudFront. When configuring the S3 configuration setting in the ACP, there's an option for a custom URL which I believe we'll need, correct? What URL would I need to put in the custom URL field to make sure the CloudFront CDN is working proper with IPS 4?

We just upgraded to the latest version of 4 and it wiped out some of the settings we had in 3.4. One of the changes is that when a member posts in a thread, they now see all of their private info under their avatar - I have attached a screenshot. ONLY they can see THEIR info, and they can't see anyone elses, but needless to say users freak out and think that everyone else can see their private info. I know we went through this same thing when we originally dealt with it in 3.4, but can't remember which setting changed it. Thanks

Hello, I updated my community from 3.4.9 to 4.1.7 this night. All went fine and I solved all issues on my own. Until now... In 3.4.9 the persons giving reputation to a post were listed by names. Now I just can see the reputation count but not the names at all. Is there any configuration in the Admin CP I did miss? Greetings and thank you, Marco

Hello, On 4.1.7 when quoting posts containing MathJax formulas, they are not correctly displayed, and sometimes they disappeared completely (bug reported here). recently my forum suffer from slow posting/reply people reply on topic and when they click submit, it take ages to complete, some member click it multiple times result in double or even triple posting I've been made a support ticket, but I need to gather some experience in this community related to this problem, any of you have similar issue? and what the cause and solution for the problem? i've been digging around and found one or two similar issue, and one that interesting me was "follow this" issue I have small forum in shared hosting, no resource intensive issue I guess, only 101 mb MySQL size ah almost forgot, little bit lat…

Step 3 of the Plugin example guide makes it clear that you can upload template files for plugins in the plugins/PLUGIN-NAME-HERE/dev/html folder. Every time I try to upload to that folder I get "permission denied". Trying to change the permissions of the folder prompts the message "550 CHMOD 775 html: Operation not permitted". Any ideas? Thanks

First of all, I want to say that I'm not usually the type of person who complains (I actually dislike complaining and prefer to calmly wait until things are sorted out), but I've reached a point where I simply don't know what to do anymore. Ever since I converted my current online community to IPS 4, the feedback I received from my members have been mostly negative. The reason why I upgraded was because IPS announced that they will drop support for IPS 3.4 in the following months and I wanted to have my staff team get accustomed to IPS 4 right from the start of the new year. Hello ! I'm going to upgrade to IPB 4. My database's posts table is 5 Gb big. My server has 12 processors and the CPU is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1650 0 @ 3.20GHz. How long (approximately) will it take to convert it to UTF-8, in your opinion ? What should I do to make sure it works ? Turn off the board ? Disable server backups ? Thank you.

Hi, Today we upgraded our IPBoard version 3 to version 4. The upgrade process went quite smooth, without any errors. After the upgrade was done it has left our forums in an unusable state though. Status after upgrade: The admin panel worked mostly, but did not load any CSS, so was very hard to navigate. The forums worked properly, I could browse everything and read posts... but as soon as I logged in, the forum would not load CSS and the forum index content looked like I was not logged in.
