I'm currently in the process of talking with my web host about upgrading PHP. 4.1.11 had the important note saying that it would be the last release supporting PHP 5.4, and 4.1.12 says it does not support PHP 5.4. This is where my title question comes into play as it feels like a bit of a grey area. Does 4.1.11.1 support PHP 5.4 also? I'd much rather ask and play it safe, than assume it does and be sorry. Has anyone out there tried to build an Amazon CloudSearch integration into their forums? We've been using a Google Custom Search for a while, and while it gives better results than fulltext, they still aren't great (particularly due to pagination and lack of the ability to change the weighting of various fields). Invision has indicated that they may add an AWS CloudSearch integration feature in the future, but software development being what it is I'm not going to hold my breath for seeing it this decade , search is not one of their priorities. Hi, A topic was deleted more than a month ago (and we don't know how it happened), so we can't simply restore the forum from the backup. I need your help with recovering of deleted topic from a backup of old MySQL database. I did same task for phpbb forum 5 years ago using SQL queries and I believe that I can do same for IPB4.

I have a conditional in the AttachedFile template, that is supposed to ignore files that are mp3 and pdf. The reason why I want this functionality is because I built a module that reads mp3s and pdfs in a better way (for my forum). When I edit a topic, the below code works fine. However when someone creates a new post, the below fails. I am not sure if this is a bug with IPB, or if there is another template that I am supposed to make an edit to. But when I searched for the keyword "ipsAttachLink" in the templates, the only files that came up were "attachedFile" and "attachedImage". I've created a block that shows popular records for a certain database. Now I want that block to NOT display when the user is viewing a record. So I would like to add logic that hides the block if we are on a record page. I run two boards on two different hosts, one has mod security enabled and works fine, the other is on a self managed VPS and if I have mod security enabled there all I get is Too many redirects errors. Does anyone know what mod security rules to change to allow use of this on the VPS.

Bit of a plea for assistance as the IPB Support team aren't able to help. We want to start putting advertisements on our site - where specific ads will appear on specific pages (rather than one ad appearing in the same location across all pages). I've read the "Creating Advertisements" Guide and everything was going great until I got to the Advanced Usage where the guide says: "To use in the Pages application - the tag can be inserted in a page, block or template within the Pages application. IPS 4 offers Google Places Autocomplete for address. And it ads lat and long for the address, it geocodes the address, what open great possibilities for geolocation interaction. I would like to know if anyone with a large database of addresses from 3.4 database have solved the problem to geocode old data in a batch process, to match the new IPS 4 format based on Google Places.

I'm looking at the plans in the Community in the Cloud page and can someone tell me, if you set your forum up for members only, the "account required" page that people see on the domain, does every view of that page count as online visitors? I'm asking because of spam bots, account flooding and determined malicious pranksters who can run a person's number into three digits if they're intent on it. If the site is set up for registered members only, visitors can't look at the content or the index page even.

My site is supported by vendors who advertise on the site. I'd like to nag people to turn off their ad blockers. I'm not looking to debate if this is a good idea or ethical thing to do, so please don't add that to this topic. I found a script here and tested it but it didn't work. http://blockadblock.com/ I followed the very simple instructions and it didn't work. Has anyone implemented one and got it to work?

I have an IPB 3.4.6 which I am upgrading to IPS 4.1.11 on a Windows machine. The forums are in Hebrew, and some of the attachments have original filenames in Hebrew. During the upgrade process some of the attachment files are renamed so that they contain the original filename (as written in the DB). Only trouble is, the Hebrew characters in the filename are turned into gibberish. (Example file can be seen in the photos below). The issue might be that this case was not tested in a Windows environment. Has anyone else run into this issue? Has anyone managed to solve this problem on his/her own? This is a question about the file attachment array variable. I want to capture the array variables for file uploads, because I want to add an HTML5 mp3 player for mp3s, and a pdf viewer for PDFS to forum topics. So I've created my own Class file in System/Custom/Custom.php. It seems that I can successfully pass the $title and $url variables from the attachedFile template, into my custom function like so: {expression="\IPS\Custom::MP3Player($title, $url)"} But the issue is I have to figure out when the loop terminates.
