I obviously don't understand how group promotions work. I have a paid site. People can join and get a free 60 day membership. After 60 days, they can still read the forum but not post. I had it setup that way in VBulletin but haven't figured it out yet for IPB. I renamed the members group to trial members. I then set up a group promotion with the only criteria being "join day 60 days or longer ago". Then set it to move them to the expired members group. If they subscribe before then, they are automatically removed to the supporting members group. Seemed simple enough but hasn't done anything. I went to system tasks and manually ran "promotions" …

Recently converted my site from VBulletin. Have subscriptions set up but getting a message from PayPal. Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing: I looked at my PayPal account and apparently the old URL for VBulletin is still there. I can change it but don't know the the URL should be. Any help?

Is there any kind of plugin or app that would add a private member notepad in the profile page? My users are asking for a way to keep notes and links in a safe, private place for their own use. It would be something like the Admin note pad in the ACP Dashboard. I could have swore that IPB use to have something like this but I can't find anything now.

Does anyone know how to shut off the upgrade notice on the site to admins? I can deal with the ACP notices, but not the live site every time I login. I close it but it comes back on my next visit....lol. I'm not ready to move to 4.5 yet.

Hey guys, I have 2 support possibilities which my members can select once they click on the support button ( https://www.hanspeterkruesi.com/members/index.php?/support/ ) Is there a way that on that page ( see link above ) the possible support tickets are displayed ? In the default setting the only appear when you select the department when you start a support ticket. Best HP

Hello, I would like to create a page like the guide from invision community (https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides), but I'm not much into invision. Basically mine should be a guide page for whoever needs it, that always has the left side with the categories name and below it every post name that sends you to the guide post, maintaining the left side with the list. I just want to recreate the guide from invision community with my guide posts, nothing more actually. Can somebody help? I'm really struggling with this one, since I always worked on others CMS..

Hello, A problem I've run in to on IPS 4.5.3 – I can switch off the badges for Moderators that appear on their avatars, but how do I do that for new members? The badge for new members looks like a restriction/stop/you've been naughty(!) sign not a "wave hello". Any help much appreciated. Cheers. P.S. When using search in Admin CP, the only result for a search on the term "badge" brings up the member ranking scheme, and not the "badge" switch for Moderators which I had to go manually hunting elsewhere for.

It threw an error about the favicon (which has been in place since I put the site together a week ago). Ran the support tool, disabled all, and then decided to just delete the favi. Things were cool then when I reloaded the site, they went haywire. I have in a support ticket but I don't like this new ZenDesk thing; on earlier support versions, you could mark an issue as Urgent or Regular. This is urgent as my site is effectively offline. Anyone else have issues with 4.5.3 on the cloud host right now?

Goog day everyone, I was wondering if there is a possibility, a tool or extension for Invision community that will allow me to automate the bulk emails. I want to promote interaction amongst users. My web site is a learning platform and interaction of members is crucial for learning, so I need tools to send automated emails to users that haven't been active for a period of time, haven't posted more than X posts in a period of time and so on. I don't want to send a single email. Maybe 2-3 after X days. A sort of funneling. Is there a way to do that with an extension? Is there a way to search for embedded content in the search results? For example, an embedded youtube/vimeo video that someone has posted. I see no way how to search for youtube embedments; even if to search for the word "youtube" or "youtu.be" in the source code of the post.

You can tell I've just upgraded to v. 4.5 can't you? (With the usual trickle down of required PHP upgrades etc.), anyway... There has now appeared some kind of topic statistics block on some (not all) forum topics that I view. Using the "Manage Blocks" graphic editor will not allow me to remove the block from display on the page. Does anyone have any more information about this? Why it appears on some topics, yet not on others? How to completely remove it (I never asked for it). Many thanks.

Hi guys, can we customise order in which forums are displayed when using default IPS theme via mobile device? We are using chatbox plugin and it is always displayed in the middle of the wall, which annoys my users. Is there a way to move it to the bottom on mobile theme, just like you move blocks around on desktop theme? Thanks

Hi there everyone, I recently took over a forum that was being managed by someone who essentially abandoned it. It was extremely out of date, and is facing some serious issues. So I bought a new license key (as the old owner took his Invision account with him) to upgrade the install. Unfortunately, I bought the edition with no Nexus / commerce module or whatever, and that has caused some issues with the upgrade, as it's saying the files were not upgraded properly (as they are likely still out of date, since I did not purchase that module, nor do we need it) and now since the upgrade is in progress, I can't access the adminCP to disable them, nor can I find a wa…

Hello! I am trying to set up group permissions on my community, but I'm having a bit of an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Right now it seems as if children categories/forums are not inheriting their parent's permissions list. This is causing permissions to not be synced, which is a huge requirement for my community. Am I just missing a blatantly obvious setting or are permissions simply not inherited from parents? Thanks again! 🙂

I purchased a plugin (https://invisioncommunity.com/clients/purchases/81289-hq4-badges/) and the plugin has image resources that I cannot download because when I try to download the plugin it just gives me instructions for how to install it through the Admin CP. I know how to install the plugin... I want to download the files so I can get the image resources that are included and the system just forces me to read installation instructions (presumably because I have a cloud subscription to Invision Community). Is there a way I can bypass this? It's frustrating that it just assumes I don't actually want the files themselves.
