Hello. I don't like arabic and other strange or special characters or e-mail addresses as a username. But I do like if the user can use spaces. Now I found the Display Name settings in the profiles. So a setting of a-z0-9-_ would allow a-z (lower and uppercase) 0-9 in numbers and - and _ characters. But how do I define that a space is also allowed in the username? Do I just enter a space like a-z 0-9-_ or how is that done?

Hello everybody. I'm going to convert my friends forum from vBulletin 4.2.2. to Invision 4.x, the latest one I believe. Ofcourse I already discovered the conversion wiki, but since some of you might already have been there and done this, just a couple of questions to be sure I follow the correct steps. Conversion will be on the same domain on the same hosting account, but other directory, only forums, no pages or something else yet. 1.) We have the Commerce addon on the forums but until now we only use the "Subscriptions" option. However when a user chooses the "Shop", he is always presented with the "Store" landing page, which is empty, because we don't use the store. So in the task bar they have to select "Subscriptions" to get to the Subscriptions options. Isn't it possible they are presented directly with the Subscriptions page? I tried using the "make default module" in the Commerce application, but that does not change anything. The Store page still shows first.

I tried searching, but is there a features guide tailored for the end users? We finally upgraded from 3.x and my users are starting to freak out. We are a bunch of older car guys and some may need some hand holding lol. I am not having any issues as I have been in IT for 20+ years but most of my club members are not IT guys...

Hi, I just installed an SSL certificate on my website and followed the IPS procedure. My website now appear to be only partially safe. Browers indicate something about images not being safe. Also when registering/login there's still a message saying the connexion isn't safe. Can someone please help me understand how I can make my website 100% in https ? Thank you

Probabaly it would be possible to hide breadcrumbs on cms-pages using data-pageapp="cms" and .ipsBreadcrumb Any pointes how to do that? Took a chance and it works , seems to work with … [data-pageapp="cms"] .ipsBreadcrumb { display: none; } Hope it is the best way.

Hi, I currently manage an Invision Community v4.2.9 and I'm about to update to v4.3.6. I can see new emoji sets are available but I'd really like to keep the ones I have now. We've customized our set over the years and those are very specific to our activities. Can you please confirm if during the update I'l have the choice to keep my current emoji set and not switch to a new one (I can see it 's like we have on our phones but I don't need that...) ? Thank you

Hi, i created a database following the example for recipes in the help guide. When I view the database settings now I get a warning message in orange which states " You have 5 categories in this database. You can only have 1 category to store records in the database directly. If you wish to disable category support please move articles to a single category and delete the no longer needed categories. Hello. I know we are allowed to have an extra forum on the same license for testing purposes. Things I read which were important: 1.) For a testinstall the normal installation license key is used, but you have to add -TESTINSTALL your license key. So if your license key would end with 12345 it would become 12345-TESTINSTALL 2.) I have weird display for my package price and renewal: My users do not understand that they buy a package for 10 $ and renew after 3 months for 8$. They think that they have to pay 10$ to get the package somehow enabled and then 8$ to extend it for three months. They think they have to pay 18 $ to get it right now for three months. To clarify this I would expect something like this: Did I make a mistake during product setup or is this price+renewal+duration display desired?

I feel that this is something we've seen before but I can't work out how to create it. Instead of 'latest articles', is it possible to create a feed of latest comments? The editor on my site wants it so that she and other trusted people can check our beginners' language, offer them friendly comments so that they're not talking to themselves, etc. I know I could do something similar using an activity feed but I'm afraid it's a non-starter because it's not possible to translate everything featuring in it grammatically. (The main problem is "x added a y". In my language, the y (comment, topic, article ...) would have to change form when used in this situation.)

I would like to make it possible for people to share articles. I can see in the templare record {{if !$record->container()->disable_sharelinks}} <hr class='ipsHr'> {template="sharelinks" app="core" group="global" params="$record"} {{endif}} Great! All I have to do is set the category to share links. The thing is, I can't find that setting in my categories. I suppose theoretically it should only be valid if the category and its records are viewable to guests, so I've checked that. I still can't find where I enable or disable sharing in my Pages categories though. Which tab have I missed it on?

Hi, is it possible with an Invision community forum to "softly" posts or topics rather than permanently delete them? In particular, how do I restrict the power of the moderating team to fully delete posts. It's not that I don't trust them – I'm just worried about accidents. I would like to be able to configure the moderating team simply to "hide" posts – "unapprove them" but not be able to permanently delete them. Sorry, I should have posted this question here https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/forum/505-product-guidance/ I'd be grateful if it could be moved.

I have created a test site on an intrAnet. The site is slow loading pages, I assume its calling for external resources first, then times out and goes to the directed page. My question is, what settings do I need to adjust for the site being on an intranet setting? I have disabled Check IP address when validating session. I see it looking up fonts with googleapis, so I know there are other settings I need to find.

Hey guys I have a lot of data in a WordPress blog and wanted to transfer it over to invision forums. I can use the conversion tool to get all the members perfectly but I see no way to get the blog posts over - is this possible? Surely the structures are very similar as blog posts and comments directly relate to topics and posts in a forum. If I had to, I don't mind using a midway conversion to another forum and then to invision - but I've been searching and can not find anything. Any assistance would be most gratefully received.

Why on earth can’t I see a list of ALL files regardless of sub category? Instead randomly see 8 files out of 1000+ I need a way to see all so I can sort by most recent regardless of sub categories User clicks a thing that says 1,526 and gets 8! Lol Should get all 1,526 files then be able to drill down to sub categories if they want to filter it more

I noticed a little while back you can view Downloads and Gallery indexes as categories rather than in their default images (is this the correct terminology?) view. This can be done by appending "categories/" to the end of the URL. Question is, how to make the category view the default view? Is a category view possible within Blogs? I attempted to append "categories/" to the Blogs URL without success. Ted.

Is there a way to allow forum registrants to "save" their registration and return to complete it later? For example, on our product forums, we require all registered users to input their serial number as a way to determine which product forum they belong on (and also to verify that they are indeed a customer), But when they're registering, they don't always have their serial number handy and they would like to have the ability to complete their registration at some point in the future. Is this possible, and if so, how? Thank you in advance!

1. Is there any possibility to omit the confirmation of policy, rules, terms and whatever else after user registration? But still have a policy link at the bottom? Have already figured it out. There is no page, just links. 2. And how to wipe out the reconfirming for policy, rules or terms for the registered user? I have changed it twice, first time I have accidentally selected to re-confirm. Now I have just deleted anything from terms (last editor field on the policy page in ACP) and have selected NOT to re-confirm but the users still have to confirm the empty terms, rules or policy (I am not sure what is shown there).
