Hey! This has been bugging me for a long time now. Imagine that I create a recurring calendar event, say... swimming classes once every friday. And on one friday, this event is cancelled. Why can I not simply remove that single instance on that particular friday without deleting the entire event which includes the future friday swimming classes? Please fix this, it is quite the annoyance!

Hello, IP.Board & IP.Gallery has been traditionally not very eager to support videos because of compatibility issues with webhosters (almost none support FFMPEG). But since Invision seems to become in favor of supporting Third-party Enhancements . I would like to suggest to consider to support the HeyWatch API. HeyWatch downloads the orginal uploaded video file, converts the file to a HTML5 standardized video format, creates thumbnails and uploads everything to a specified FTP (or any of the multiple methods) target and then pings using a POST HTTP when everything is ready in 60 seconds or less. First let me say I love the 4.x blocks! We run a board where users are encouraged to form smaller project groups to achieve teamwork goals. As it currently stands, Administrators must create user groups for each and every project, and give those groups permissions for the project's subforums. It would be extremely beneficial to us if the smaller group designated as moderator for those subforms had the ability to add / remove users from the project team without any requirement for an Administrator to do this (or Moderators with AdminCP access). Hello, My team of programmers and I are working on a rather extensive site overhaul. We've used Invision Power Board for our website since 2008, and we've never had any complaints. For this update, we've elected to use IPB 4.x as our framework on which to build. The rewrite of the system is extensive and presents a lot of amazing opportunities for our community to grow. Could you consider changing your forum statistics widget to make use of a longer cache time or use a combination of your earlier approach of storing it to a setting each time a new post is created and then also reset this every 24 hours or something? Problem is it takes 3.25 seconds for me. Meaning that every 5 minutes someones gotta wait that much longer for the front page (or any page it's located) to load.

modcp/approval-queue/ I think it would make sense if a user can not only delete the comment on his/her blog. He/She should also approve it. Right now only my mods can do this. Why? Makes no sense to me. Specially when it's buggy like now. Yes I made tickets ;-). I also think instead of reading 1.000 comments I would like to have a system with overview and just approve more at a time. Right now it's about 16 per minute without reading to much. Yes I have a lot :-)

In IPS 4 when you hide a topic - all the posts within it are marked as hidden and you're no longer able to hide individual posts within the topic. This is a problem and different from the 3.X-series. For example the situation might be that you know there's been a lot of new posts that all need to be reviewed due to numerous reports from the same topic, the temperature of the discussion is high and you know there will be posts on both sides of your community rules. You wish to hide the entire topic while you read through it all because it may contain so many unread replies you can't risk "harmful" content to be visible any longer while you go through it all. Something we are missing - are the category stats, total files and number of downloads, it was a handy way to track each category popularity, now as it is, it is guesswork.

Would it be possible to get a "Product Hunt" or "New Topic Only" style for Activity - or just an ability to lists new topics in the Activity Stream style? Meaning, just a list of new topics with descriptions listed from all forums (or selected forums) on the site. The topics are only on the list when first created. The list doesn't get updated when there is a reply in the thread. If you check out Producthunt.com or hackersnews.com, that's how they have their site setup. We've had a bit of a kerfuffle on our board recently. The "Today's Birthdays" block showed the birthday of one of our deceased (and very much revered) community members. Some people though it was a fitting tribute; others said it was like a ghost was haunting us (in a bad way). Would it be possible to have the birthday feed ignore users in a particular user group (e.g., a "Deceased" user group)? I know this is a bit of an odd request...but it seems like something that might have broader appeal to IPS clients.

Just wondering. I don't get it. It's legit content with full editor capabilities. Pics, links, text, formatting. Anything with the full editor should have the edit button. Can IPS shed some light? At least let an admin decide if a member should be able to edit. Whenever it's asked the answer is simply, no, we don't want to do that. But what if we do? It's not unreasonable to ask for an edit function of a full-featured post. Thanks for your input.

I had/have a testboard (with a valid license on 4.0) - and the license for that board expired now - no problem. Now I suppose to update that board from 4.013 to 4.1 whatever - and I ran into some problems and suppose to download the full version - but in the download section theres only 3.4.8 Is it on purpose like that?

I know most of the stuff that gets posted here is complaints or desires for something better. This post will contain none of that. I've been with ipb since 2012. I've had my share of desires for a better product, mostly wanting it to be fully responsive. I tried different hooks, and themes, but they all were terrible at making the board responsive. Gimmicky wastes of hard earned money is what they were. I was frustrated obviously. I was very impressed with the release of IPB4. It really satisfied my need for a responsive board. We hear a lot of negative feedback from the users, and not much positive. For me the transition was painless, maybe having a member base of 2 helped somewhat. We all start somewhere. But as far as features go, and how IPS is more than just a forum, with the right addons available. I love it. I do have less at stake than the larger sites, as my site id built for no other reason than I love doing it, not financial gain will be made from it. Call it a hobby. Over the years I have played with many forums, and have found that they all have their shortfalls, some more than others. It seems that Hot Topics is not included in the Streams, or maybe I didn't notice it? I really liked having that in the View New Content (actually, I really prefer View New Content over Streams). The Streams are intended to be content discovery tools, so having the Hot Topics there would be really helpful.

Would be nice if there was an option to make a custom profile field a tab. At the moment custom profile fields have to be in the left column on the profile page. For long lists it looks terrible. So it would be nice if one could put one or more different custom field catageories into tabs and to have lists shown in columns.

On IPS4, particularly on mobile, there are cases where members are identified only by avatar, not username. This makes for a dull and information-free column when lots of members don't have avatars. Plenty of places now automatically generate an avatar based on the initial of the username. That would be an improvement. Personally I'd like to see the username in there if possible.

I would like to be able to hide commerce groups from being visible to member groups. What is the point in members being able to see the groups if they can't see the products inside them? I would also like to password protect some groups. That way I can send a link to a potential advertiser and they can see all the advertising packages available to purchase, but members can't see these items. Advertisers are generally not members of the forum yet, and It's currently not viable to only allow guests to see these packages as then any member can see the prices advertisers pay. Please can you add these features in commerce
