I would like have different groups for different members, but with some step should be start by member them completed by moderator. I saw on one of sites that I use something like that: I was not logged in on this site, but it automatically taken my fb name and show it to me. Its good option and I want to use it on my forum to motivate guests to login/register via faceebok. It is possible to make it with IPS now somehow? And another thing is motivate somehow guests to register. One day we had error on forum (sth with cache) and site was displayed only for registered users. The SQL database login handler is great but it shouldn't automatically assume the email address is verified if that info is passed to it. There needs to be another field for "verified" added so that it checks to see if the email address is actually verified first in the remote database instead of assuming it is verified and if it isn't then send out a verification link as normal. This seems like a really easy thing to add and would make the SQL DB login handler much better.

Hello, Is it possible to cancel all notifications to email for certain user(s)? The problem is that in our community are users with inactive email addresses (receiver host returns emails because of unknown user or inactive account). So this would be great to cancel all subscriptions to topics and other notifications to email for that users. I knot that i can change settings for particular user for notifications " Method to use for content I follow automatically " and set it to not receive notifications but there is warning that "Changing this option will not affect existing followed content." but it is needed to change it. Is it possible?

In ACP under RSS/Atom Feed Imports, it would be helpful if there was a column for latest entry date. This way you can quickly check for an old/outdated RSS feed rather than visit each forum they are imported into and searching for the last entry, or opening each rss url to view the newest entry and its date. Also a url check, so if the publisher has removed the URL and its not a valid url, some sort of message on that.

I want to vent my frustrations at the problems I see in the Invision platform with creating operational private forums. I currently have a forums category where each client has a "private" forum where they and I can interact in detail on projects. At first, these forums were password-protected so that only the client and myself could access the forum. The big problem with password-protected forums, however, is that new reply notification, while enabled, is non-functional - even if you set new reply notification on a thread in a private forum, notifications will not be sent. Hi, I cannot differ between different CMS databases in the search if Plural Capitalized Noun in the Language tab is set to the same. The word Records used instead of database name in the search. How to reproduce: Create at least two databases in CMS. Go to settings of each Database and check the Language tab. Be sure that Plural Capitalized Noun is set to Records. Check the search (screenshot above). I know that I can use different language strings for different databases. But in my case it does not make sense. There are really just records. The database name - is unique, so it should be used here instead of language string.

I recently migrated my IPS3 install to a new server where I installed MySQL 8 instead of 5. Trying to get IPS3 working with MySQL 8 proved to be a great challenge, so I just bit the bullet and migrated to IPS4 and wrote off my incompatible apps and hooks. However, I ran into a bug in the IPS4 updater. To allow users to use our APP, even when the board is offline, is enough to add: define( 'IPS_ENFORCE_ACCESS', TRUE ); in coreVariables.php. Would be VERY VERY usefull to add something like that to allow users to use our app when Force guests to log in before allowing access to the community is enabled! Pleeeeeeeaaaaaase! :D

Is it intended that we cannot use spaces in the database templates names? I would like to have templates name similar to avoid mess, like: Display Display Article (and not Displayarticle) Display Bug Report (and not Displaybugreport) Display Help Record (and not Displayhelprecord) Display Author Card (and not Displayauthorcard) This is just hard to read and find. I have also paid templates like Supergrid Recorddisplay from @opentype where the space is indeed used in the name of the template. ❓ Do I miss something? Is it a bug or a feature? I didn't see a topic like this posted anywhere so thought to kick it off and share some recent observations and thoughts that I'd assume would be very interesting to a community that is focused on building online communities... Though I think it would be hard to argue how social media all but stole away the audiences from private / directional online communities found on forum systems, it's been very interesting to now observe what I believe is the decline of the social media era. This is not a new suggestion I believe. There are even 2 apps available for this but none of them seem to be ideal at the state they are. Since IPS already supports feed import to forums why not go an extra mile and include the ability to import a feed to a page database, if a feed comes with an article image - make it the feature image automatically. Add 1-to-1 mapping to database custom fields. And its a long-shot and perhaps too niche of a feature... but .. a some sort of build in Google Translate mechanism which can be configured beforehand as to which language RSS article title and text would be translated and somehow compared side by side so you can make f…
