A fresh IPS4 setup seems to have a rather large time to first byte. I have a dedi, optimized php and apache setup. 4 cores, plenty of RAM. SSD drives. Zend opcode/memcached etc being tested from a few miles away. Server in London, test from London. The TTFB is ~ 1 second. This is abnormal and normally caused by server spec or DB bottlenecks. Server is good. Invisions own site has the same issue when tested. Other forum software responds in ~300 when tested on same server. Is this something you are aware of and would look into improving?

Had a critical ticket in since 8am UK Sunday. Now 8pm UK Monday. It was escalated and I have to accept those guys are not around Sun (shouldnt someone be around who can deal with critical issues?), anyway its between 12pm and 3pm Mon in the US depending where you are based. Are people working? I could do with my site functional please.

I think that one thing I can do to ease member acceptance of the new streams functionality is to make them open up in Compact view the first time a member sees them (they can always flip to the mega-view if they want it). Is there a straightforward way of doing this, or is a mod required?

Hey, everyone. What I'm attempting to do is create a new input field for when creating a new topic. For example, users would have the ability to input something like a description that would be saved to that post. So far I've added the new column to the post sql table, but I'm a bit confused on how and where IPB saves all the fields when clicking 'submit topic'. If anyone could share their wisdom on how I'd go about adding a new field when creating a topic, I'd be incredibly grateful. Thank you in advance!

Maybe strange, but I am looking for the ranks. Now in the forum at the posting and at the user there are the pipes. I don't want the pipes. I want to show the title of the rank. I looked around but weren't able to find the setting for that. Please help.

Can it really be true that you can't have the forum name in Friendly URLs for a topic? If I look at the friendly structure for a forum topic it looks like this: forum/topic/{#id}-{?} But to maintain my existing structure (moving from VB) and to have a logical semantic url structure it should be: forum/forum-name/topic/{#id}-{?} Please tell me that its possible to have forum name in topic url? If not how do a redirect existing vbulletin vbseo urls to the new ones in IPC?

One of my members has complained he can't post any more - the buttons to create a new topic or post a reply have disappeared. I have logged in as him via the ACP, and I can confirm this is the case. The buttons are no longer there. - We migrated to v4.1.3.2 a few days ago. But this problem has just started now. He's successfully made 3 posts earlier today, and has been a member for years. - It only seems to affect this one member (I hope!). I've checked a few others, and they have the buttons displayed just fine. - I can see no difference between this guy and every other member. They're all in the same "Members" group, the permissions look OK, etc, etc. …

My sharer logo is not right when it shows up on Facebook, I am sure it worked on 4.1 but not since I upgraded to 4.1.3.2 It is choosing an image from the far right of my forum, is this a bug or am I being stupid? Thanks

Hi! Wondering if anyone else had similar problem. I moved from vB4 to IPB. Done everything pretty well, going through all the tips, trick and manual. First I moved to IPB 3.x and performed conversions. Everything was well, pages worked as should, no issues. After going with upgrade to IPB 4.x pages got messed up. I still don't quite get how the Pages works under the hood and thus don't have a clue what should I be looking to try to fix this. Hi! I purchased and installed Download app on my forum, trying to setup & test it. I added a few categories, then deleted them, then added one category again. When I'm trying to upload file here <forum>/files/ I select "submit file", then select category in popup dialog, "Continue" and then I get infinite loop on this URL: <forum>/files/submit/?_new=1 I select category, then Continue, then again the same. What is it and how it can be fixed? Thanks!

Ok, here is one of my first actual questions on howto. I normally nut these out myself, but this one has me stumped. When making a se submissions using the Pages addon, there is an option to post to a forum, however there is no option to take someone to that forum after the post is made. What I am doing is using the pages for the form, keeping the page submissions not viewable, instead having them viewable in the forum, where there are better viewing rules. Once someone submits a form though. What I would like is the ability to redirect them to the forum post of the form. To be honest I am surprised that this is not already an option. The main reason…

I have a custom profile field with option do not allow member to see and edit (I want only administrators can view and modify this custom field). How can I display this custom field under members avatar, next to content the user submits? I completed the field "Display format" with <strong>{title}:</strong> {content}, but if I disable the option "Allow member to see and edit?, the field does not appear. What should I do?
