Sharer Logo not right

Featured Replies

Posted

My sharer logo is not right when it shows up on Facebook, I am sure it worked on 4.1 but not since I upgraded to 4.1.3.2

It is choosing an image from the far right of my forum, is this a bug or am I being stupid?

Thanks :)

have you checked the theme you are using? have you tried reuploading the share picture?

Yes to both :)

Yup, my forum does the same. It wants me to choose from multiple images instead of the sharer logo. It's like it picks up an avatar or attached image with the logo.

I would suggest to post an example URL from your site so someone can check out what this page delivers in regards to the sharer logo.

#1 was my personal FB page #2 & #3 were FB group pages and all posted differently... But one thing is common is no Sharer logo appeared.

Facebook does see your sharer image but doesn’t like it:

It’s probably just too small.

My image is 100x100 but it needs to be 200x200? Strange.

They recently changed it - and it needs to be at least 200x200. Mine is 375x375

I have mine uploaded - but when I go to debug, it's pulling an image from my gallery.

I changed it and same result so far. Maybe it needs time?

I actually think it's a bug.

Here it is defined in the ACP

Here is the info of that image

and here is what FB Open Graph Object Debugger tells me

It needs time or a forced refresh of the Facebook crawl cache for that URL. I did this for the sample URL you posted and it is now working:

OK, looks like it may need to be a JPG format (even though it says you can use any).  Once I converted mine to a JPG, it worked.

Problem solved then! Excellent!
