Hello All, I just finished upgrading my forum to IPS4. All is ok so far except all posts with code tags prom IPB3 editor are now broken and defaulted to HTML. There are alot of posts like this. What Medieval technology do I use to restrict Prefix's to certain categories. In example: Food in the Food Section. and Cars in the car section. when creating a new article record, i am trying to add html code into the article but unable to. is there anyway to add some sort of button into the rich text editor to toggle the html and non-html view? the admin cp area does not have the "source button" for me to add. how can i add / embed html code into the article record in pages ? i thought rich text editor usually have the view source button. and the documentation does not show how to enable it. frustrating.

Dear IPS4 Guys / Gals, How can I add sidebars to my forum page in IPS4? In example, Member stats, Recent topics, donations, e.t.c. I see its on this forum as well as a bunch of others but I can only seem to get sidebars on my pages app. When, I move to any other application it seems to force me out of placing any sidebars. Any help would be greatly and dearly appreciated! -Austin

Dear All Does anyone use Amazon AWS? I know very little about it, and what I have read has just confused me further, yet it has been suggested as a solution to my storage problems. I run a photo intensive forum. We have to be very ruthless in deleting photos to keep within our data storage (we are hosted in IPB Cloud) As I understand it, I set up an AWS account, link it to my forum and then, when members post photos they are stored on AWS and therefore don't use our forum storage. When a member views a photo, it is viewed from storage and that the entire process is invisible to members - it looks the same as it does now. Is that about right?? What…

Anyone still have an old copy of the install checker? I currently don't have access to server logs to find out why the install is 500 erroring; and end user is currently on 3.x ; the 4.x checker gives me some information, but the 3.x checker would give greenlights in the areas needed imo.

While the new mobile theme really rocks, it sometimes is not wished by the user. A lot of members have asked me where they can switch of the mobile theme. Is that yet possible? If not, could it be implemented in 4.1? It should still be the default for guests and first-time-visitors with smartphones, but it would be great if the user could choose whether the mobile theme should be used on his mobile devices or not (a simple configuration setting).

Hi, I run a boating forum in my spare time and have been using IPB software for the last 10 to 15 years. I was recently away on active military service (my real job) and unfortunately, while I was away and obviously "otherwise engaged, my site was hacked and crashed. I'm not very technical (web dev wise) - most of my experience in this area is with WP. However I did try re uploading the core IPB files via FTP but to no avail. My hosting company assure me that the data base is fine and suggested that a full IPB upgrade by IPB should see things right again. All my licences are current / active. Previously, I had been able to edit my language files so that the email notifying a member of a PM did not contain the entire message. Can anyone help me with how to do that now? I've spent all morning on it and still can't figure it out. Many communities share sensitive and personal information so this needs to be taken into consideration as an option. I have been into the New private message notification setting and found the HTML and Plain text email template but am at a loss as to how to exclude only the PM content.

I want to add h2,h3,h4,h5 tags to the CKEditor used by IPS4. I found out how to do it here on the CKEditor website. I put this is another thread but just in case it isn't the right I am re-posting here... Just did a clean install and now I am having trouble integrating the database. The install created new tables in the database but kept the old ones so I need to merge/integrate/convert the old tables into the new ones. Tried to do it through upgrade but that didn't work. I have created a database and i have fully customized the look and everything but there is one big issue with record ratings okay for example here in this picture you can see the rating stars on each article image right?you can rate any article on the page, BUT no matter what article you going to rate, when you refresh the page it always saves for the first article on top, the featured one, for example you rated 2 stars for the last article on that page and when you refresh the page the rate is saved for the featured article on top :/ im sure the problem has something to do with this in my database index template i have customized, while i …

hay all im having major issues with the search and the activity stream on one of my sites . it wont let us create new activity streams it just spins . if you run a search and it brings up articles from pages it takes almost 5 min to complete and will not let you go to the second page . the site is on the latest software with a db converted from wordpress to pages . running about 13000 articles
