Hello, My question relates to database migration. I am using Invision for my website forum. I have a friend that wants to shut down his own website and merge his phBB forum into my database. The idea was to preserve his forum topics by placing them in their own category on my site, something like 'Bob's Forum Archive'. Has something like this been done before? Is it easy/moderate/high risk?

I moved the webhost and changed the domain name. Now give me this error. I have deleted the old domain license and now I do not know how to activate the new domain on the new license, because we want to have the same rescue. How do we proceed to save everything we have created on this forum but to remain with the new domain?

Hello community! For some reason, I can't move user submitted images into albums for sorting, something I'd been able to do in the past. What would cause this issue? I've tested various settings, but I wonder if I'm missing anything. I can't move anything by other members, or my test account (and we've done this before) but if I claim the image as my own only then I can move it. I don't want to claim everyone's pictures.

Hi everyone, what is the difference between a forum moderator and a club moderator? And how can I stop a forum moderator from posting in a club he/she is not a member of. We use a club for administrator discussions, and discovered yesterday that a forum moderator could read our posts and even comment. A bit awkward when some of the threads were about our moderators and how they are regarded in our community.

My community is international and for members from around the World. I don't have a specific niche and accepted any content, except prohibited: illegal content, criminal activity, black market. I already added a lot of words in filter. But I can't know everything in the World and I can't know all the governments regulations. That is why I'm afraid my community to be banned by any of them. How to check is my community available for all the countries?

Hi all, I've had a look around but this is something that's out of my technical expertise. I am using Ezoic to serve ads on my site and I want to hide ads for subscribers. I can do this by setting up a custom cookie (e.g. Cookie called WebsiteEzoicAds with value NoAds). Then I would just tell Ezoic to hide ads from users with that cookie. I know how to trigger code for certain groups, but not sure what to use to create/set the new cookie {{if in_array( member.member_group_id, array(2,4,3) )}} // Set cookie in here {{endif}}

We are migrating from IPS in production v4.4.6 that has a split membership controlled by a Rails app. In doing so, we're trying a converter to move between the production system and our local system to do some cleanup and data management. We will be changing the tags and need to initiate several types of tasks that I know are there (they're performed during the migrations/conversion) but I need to initiate them manually. We're transitioning to using the IPS as our membership platform and need to ensure that transactional renewal reminder emails go out to members. We're required to send at least 1 within 30-60 days before renewal, 1 a few days prior to renewal, and then the actual renewal. Is there a method to add transactional mails to a product/service with the ability to set the interval before expiration? Or, a suggestion/recommendation for a plugin/app that would manage this process as well?

A while back I allowed my members to hide their own content by activating this feature: I did see that it says content will be visible to "staff" only, not "regular users." I presumed wrongly that my members were staff, and that guests were the "regular users." I wanted my members to be able to hide and unhide their own content, but now I realize that once a member has hidden his content, he doesn't see it any more; he can't see it to unhide it, probably eventually forgot that it was even there, and I have not very useful hidden content scttered across the forums. What is the advantage of letting members hide their own content if they can no longer see it o…

We reduced our images to 200px wide so we could post a list of them, but they are now appearing blurry when we put them in-line with the post. Is there some way to have both? In external database I have users who I do not want to have access to forum. There is a column named 'status', and it has values from 1 to 9 for active users and 0 or -1 for not activated and banned users. When I write "status > 0" in field Additional clause: happens nothing.... Banned and not active users from external database can still authorise on forum. Tried different spellings, for example: `status` > 0 status = 1 status = 9999 Nothing can stop banned users from logging in. Hello everyone, I am trying to upgrade a board from v3 to v4. The UTF8 converter first reports this: "The database is set to UTF-8, however 171 table(s) have incorrect collations and need fixing." then this "Error: Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes File: /system/Db/Db.php Line: 198" Having contacted IPS to ask about this error it turns out they do not provide such support. Okay question. I cant use zapier or others to auto export my users email addresses to a HTML mailer like mail chimp. What is the best way to bulk mail with the limited bulk mailer IPB has? Hoping for some more features than the built in one has. Would love all and any advice. Jay

Is there a way to disable the icon for 'All Activity' which displays on home page? It only appears to guests, (vanishes as a logged in member) We do not want non members to be able to click here and see the whole activity stream and hence the content of the site Tried switching off RSS feed, and we have Activity disabled in the menu, but this 'All Activity' icon still appears constantly. ? Hi, I don't know if this is a mistake or only it occurs with me. When "Designers' Mode" is turned on and off, the separate theme folders are saved in all themes. E.g: theme 1 has a folder called "test", theme 2 has no additional folders After turning the "Designers' Mode" option on and off, all themes suddenly have a folder called "test". I admit that working on several motives at the same time is quite intriguing by such a mistake.
