I added an entry in the application Pages: Content articles are cut off, but the source code is displayed full article content: This is fundamentally wrong decision cutoff content, because for this can be penalized by Google. What do you think?

Not sure if this has been mentioned or requested. As we know there are some differences between the plugins, addon, themes etc between 4.0.13 and 4.1+ Can we please have some indication in the marketplace that shows each compatibility. At the moment we are relying on the devs making sepcific mention. Also being able to filter all 4.1+ compatible products would save some time and any potential issues. I can see people buying IPS 4 stuff with the assumption it will work for 4.1+.

It gets confusing when there is a major release of IPB (4.0.13.1 to 4.1 as an example) and clients are posting problems for the previous release along with clients posting problems with the new major release. Thanks...

Would be nice if we had the option to choose which usergroups to show announcements to. Also allow announcements to be dismissible with a little X in the top right.

Sidebar widget for topics is named "Recent topics" while posts widget is called just "Posts". To be uniform it should be called "Recent posts".

My members have suggested that it would be nice to be able to drag-and-drop from another website (e.g. to add an external URL, image, or video). I don't know if this is possible, but it would be neat.

Just an idea, I think it's been great if we have a new Field type for Profile Fields name "Tags"! Tag profile field can help if users uses as Address, interest and more. for example for interest user type in field "FilmX". it's been tagged and all user if define this film will be listed. it's Admin choices which Field type must be as Tag and permission must be honored by global Tag setting.

After enabling this, and using HTTPS. I notice that all old posts that were made before 4.1, is still loading through HTTP (Their default URL, and are not being proxified). I think there should be some kind of cron job to proxify all images through the local server, or unproxify when disabled.

I'm posting this topic because of point #2 mentioned in this bug report I made: For users that do not know about it it really is extremely confusing that the message is triggered. I don't recall what happens on 3.x but I believe it doesn't trigger the message. A reply further below in the comments mentions a possible solution (blacklist instead of whitelist). Editing fields that do NOT impact current purchases (like the description) should not trigger this totally useless message about updating existing purchases or applying the change only to new ones.

In 3.4 when articles post to the forum, you can control the fields it posts. It is called Topic Fields in each field setting. This lets you remove the body (or any field) of the article and use a teaser if you want. I formatted mine as previews and didn't include all the fields so they actually clicked to the article, which now, with real reviews, is even more important. However there is no control anymore. Topic Fields is missing in 4.1. Also please let us truncate the article as a whole or the body, in the topic. That would be very beneficial as well. Topics serve better as previews with links and not duplicate content. Thanks.

Please provide a list of all of the features that were in 3.X, but have now been removed in 4.0 1 2 3 4 5

I'm astounded by some of the features that have been removed in 4.0. And that's just from reading a few threads in the last 5 minutes.... Can IPS please provide a list of ALL the features of 3.X that were removed in 4.0? This would greatly aid myself and many others to decide whether to move forward with 4.0. I don't want to spend days or weeks reading the random threads here in order to find out what was removed and if the software does what I want it to do. A list in one place makes more sense. Thanks.

Using 4.0. When I display the block for 'Who's Online' on the forum homepage it is accessible by all visitors, whether logged in or not. I can't find a way to change the permissions as you can with other forum pages. I don't want anyone who's not logged in to see the information as it allows clicking through to a full details of what other users are doing and also to members profile pages. Is there a way to change the permissions or can this be added in future?

So I have just upgraded from 3.x to 4.x and it all went very smoothly, so thanks for that! On reading for "Next steps" and looking for new features to make the members aware of, I keep coming up against 404 errors here, and thing have moved on since these type of posts were made early in v4 release. Can someone point me to a v4 feature list so I can help my members enjoy their new forums? Thanks.

Can we please have a overhaul of the current volatile selector and make it less dangerous to use? Current selector has a high risk of selecting in the wrong way, and by that clearing all other selected items. If we splitt all the lists in two, one of the currently for the user selected groups, and one for the available groups. Then we can do so much more with them (check attached images) and there will be less chance for faults.

I'm glad you guys finally joined 2006 with allowing use to use SFTP in your tickets but could you go a step further and start allowing SSH keys of a reasonable length as me allowing password access make baby pandas cry

Was thinking since so many may be using a custom stream etc. it would be nice to have a "Back to stream" function after clicking to leave the stream you are in, to read or post something, instead of using the browser back button, or navigating to find that exact stream again in the menu to revisit. Example would be "so-and-so replied to" and click it, read the new post, and under the reply box, where you have the arrow navigation left and right, have "Back To Stream" in the middle... or somewhere... depending on app. Click, and it takes you to the stream you just left.

Adding an ad unit to either the "just below header" or "after first thread" or "after first post" throw off the sidebar, forcing it off the page and making the site look lopsided, instead of the main column responding, and shrinking in size to accommodate the ad and the side bar. Really odd... Any fixes?

Could you please add a feature to avoid customs icons to be faded when there is no news contents. It would render the forum much more brighter. Thanks,

I've been taking advantage of Articles quite a bit now that I have moved to 4.0. When writing articles, I find it easier to write the article first then later add images and do formatting later. Normally one would put the article in Draft during that time. I suppose I can publish the article and hide it but wouldn't it be easier to have a Draft status? That way others editors can view and make changes? I suppose Hidden would work. But to me hidden is more of an "unpublished" status. How do others do this?

The ability to upload cover images is fantastic and has really improved Calendar and Blogs. However it seems like a large oversight not to be able to easily upload a new header background for your theme without Admins having to search forum posts for the right custom CSS code, trial and error etc. At this stage in IPS Suite's development, we should be able to quickly upload a replacement background/cover image that will look good on the responsive layouts. Please can you give this some consideration? It would be a huge help. Many thanks.

Could you toss some jQuery onto each entry to make them collapsible/expandable? It would be an immense help to see a *list* of all the files changed without having to scroll over and through the actual files. Do the above and set the default state as collapsed. At a glance I can see if there is anything I need to worry about and if I do need to see the changes I can just click and the file contents and changes will expand into view. As it is now, to see the files that have changed, just the file names, I have to slowly scroll through the contents of all affected files.

When writing a post in 4.0 and 4.1 user have to press the tab button 3 times before it marks the submit topic. In the earlier 3.4 version it was just tab --> enter to post. But now it is tab tab tab enter. Should not the Submit topic or submit button have tab index 1?

Two suggestions: first, I'd love for the Billing Address page to be an excludable step via the ACP. We don't use it, and for privacy and security reasons don't really want to store it in our database. Second: Nexus has a really slick system for moving users to a secondary group when they purchase a product, and in fact as far as I know this is the only Invision-supported method for a user to essentially add themselves to a secondary group. We have some optional features controlled via secondary group and in 3.4 we had to purchase a (not terrifically stable or reliable) 3rd-party mod to enable members to add themselves to those groups. In 4.x I was thinking of adding …

I read about 4.1 coming out early October which obviously didn't happen. I get that it's because it's not ready, still in development etc but what I don't get is why I can't find any revised update or explanation. If due date is missed I want as a customer to have my expectations managed. I want to read "hey early October won't happen due to x reason and here is our revised time table." Don't just miss dates and pretend like we won't notice. Ugh. Unless I'm missing the clear and obvious information update. If so, can someone please link me to the posting so I can read? Thank you
