If you search a previous display name nothing comes up, please add this ability. If a member changes names and you are not aware you need to be able to find them without researching posts and quotes. Can you add the fields of Display Name History to the acp search? You could click the previous name in search and it links to the current profile. You'd see the previous name in Display Name History. *Since a new member can use a previous name I suppose It'd have to show 2 results* 2nd suggestion: Please add a setting to disallow using previous display names. Hi, I'm working on a solution where I need both open non-premium articles and premium articles that the user need to pay for on the same front page as seen on the attachment. To have this working I need to use blocks, but that introduce a major problem for me: The article thumbs can't be ordered the way I want using article weight. The only way I can order the article is by editing the "recently updated" number in the database. The sorting options like "recently updated", "title", "most commented", "start date", "most viewed" are obviously not a good solution if I simply need to put lets say the first article between article number six and seven. My first suggestion of the year and I think it's a great one. Release a dark theme/night mode out the box. If possible an option to switch to the dark theme automatically during X hours. (This would be super awesome) I know there are a lot of dark themes available in the marketplace however you are then in the hands of the theme developers and a lot are too dark to even read. I also know you can create your own themes and you've made it really really easy now but there is an awful lot of custom css to be found and added to create a truly dark theme. Hello, we created a db with enabling "Moderate new records" but this feature only works when the record is new. If the author edits the record the record is not being set back to "moderate". From my point of view this is absolutely necessary if I enable the moderation. Otherwise the author could add good content during first creation and add the bad stuff afterwards; and no moderator will take care of it. Was this your intention? Could you please add this additional moderation step?

Say you are in Guides and search using top right which defaults to Guides... Don't see what you want and want to go back to Guides (not to search) why did the tabs and app change? I am now in Activity/Search and have to navigate back. Is it possible to stay in Guides, for this example, and not have the tabs change? Or <Back To Guides link or similar? The breadcrumb is no use either. Thanks

If someone wants to test an image upload to Gallery it bombards the stream, and I feel guilty for testing, but I see plenty of tests there. Can there be a testing category for each app? At least an album named Testing for Gallery. I can understand the demo is better for some other apps. Thanks

In the peer to peer forum I was discussing an issue with youtube links being copied and pasted not embedding properly. https://community.invisionpower.com/topic/425473-anyone-having-an-issue-with-posting-youtube-links/ It would be easier for the users if the forum software automatically recognized https://www.youtube.com/watch as requiring to be auto embedded. At the moment it is only recognizing if pasted as plain text. Most users in the general public will copy the url directly from the browsers search bar and then paste it. That always converts to a hyperlink thus causing the forum software to "fail" to embed. I understand that this is the correct way…

Is it possible to change the function of th "Change Author". I know basically all article attachments are just stored on server in its monthly folder. It the MySQL data that point the ownership of who owns what attachments. So right now if I create an article, of course my name is on it. Now if the article has attachments those are stored in my storage. So now when I change author of the article / record now the name changes but the attachments are still in my storage. Iknow to you coding gurus this can be fixed in a few minutes. I will admit I love the IP.Content it works very well. Staff and members all like it. Just need to improve a few things... It's a pain…

I really wish the side bar on downloads would remain static and show all levels in the hierarchy and perhaps accordion for the 3rd + subcategories as it is now you have no means to build muscle memory or know where you are vs where you were because the sidebar changes so radically.

whats the point in a filter that does not block links? that's the point of the filter. all it does is stop it from auto-linking. what good is that? Competitors are stealing my members so a fix on this would be appreciated. Like when you block a url it not only unlinks it. but removes the url text. Combining with the word filter does not work. sorry if i sound ungrateful. this has annoyed me a lot today.

So we can do @user and get someone .... but why cant we do groupnames to tag a whole group like @admins @moderators @whatevergroupnamesyouwant ? If I am wanting to tag my whole staff or a portion of staff, I would end up with a bunch of tags of individual people. Idk, thought it would be more efficient than tagging multiple people if all the same group.

Can we get social media fields on profiles that convert to images, a FB image to click to the user's FB page, YT channel... etc. Like websites do. It could have a Social Media header, icons under. The user just adds their link. Not many of these are relevant. AIM <-- people use? Hey Guys, I am posting in this section as it isnt an issue with a product but rather IPS's own implementation of Downloads. You used to have 'Version' as a required field for new files, which you can still see when you view some of the older 3.4.x files, however none of the new ones carry such information. With 4.0.x and 4.1.x having different requirements, many dont work cross-version and if people download incorrectly, cause their forum to crash. In addition to restoring the version field, perhaps a 'pre-requisites' field? Plugins that work for pages or commerce for example could state that within the file details so that users don't purchase the incorrec…

Some bugs are being archived before the release so if the problem persists you can't reply. Example: marked fixed in 4.1.7, archived, then, version is released. I would think it would be good practice to keep open 2 weeks after the release and not close it before, otherwise we clog the system with new reports. Thanks

Tagging Mode Open: Users can use whatever tags they like Closed: Users must choose from a specified set of tags So we have to choose open or closed system globally? I have some forums I want pre-defined tags in and others I want users to enter their own. Also the limitations should not be global either. The required numbers of tags, etc. This makes no sense unless I am missing something.

From what i have seen from 4.0, the search has been improved a lot regarding speed (which is terrible in 3.4.x), but its accuracy is still bad (or even worse). It is very difficult to find what we are trying to search. For example, here at IP Community i tried to search some topics and i could not find them or they where not at the first page of the results, even i have written enough "words" that i know they were pretty significant. I know implementing a proper search engine is a hard task, but i expect this to be improved on final 4.0 release.

I like the idea of having members able to create little status messages, so much that I enabled the widget on the sidebar so they can do sully things like say "thinking of snow" or "feeling great". What I see happening though, is other members wanting to PM them, clicking on their name and being presented with an area where they can "leave a message on <members> feed" where they are using that as though it's a personal message. It would be great if we were able to disable that, or make bury it in a menu somewhere so that the PM system is the first choice for leaving members messages.

My forums seemed (still down actually) and I couldn't create a ticket, I kept getting blocked by Incapsula. So I'd have to move to a new browser. Narrowed it down to Incapsula blocking me for posting ping and tracert results in my ticket replies! This is ridiculous that I try to provide information to help the situation and your protection is blocking me. I've narrowed it down to Incapsula blocking my IP from accessing my forums as I can access them fine from a cell phone. This is no bueno when I'm paying you for service and then getting blocked. Hello folks, When I use the Search box, with the option This Folder the results one the first page are indeed all topics from the forum I search in. However as from page two on-ward's topics form other forums are listed as well. Does somebody recognize this? Could not find topics about it.
