Images on mobile are difficult to edit. While I love the improvements to be able to change a posted image back to a link (super awesome, thank you for adding it), there is no way, particularly on mobile, to add/edit links that is easy for a mobile user. Without the "image" button (click image then click the image button in the toolbar) there is literally no way to edit the image when viewing mobiley, what you paste is what you get which makes posting on mobile more difficult and nuisancy, especially for users that use tablets, phones more predominantly than desktop/laptop devices. As you scroll it's hard to tell if you use the top or bottom section of buttons, can we get a solid border around the whole thing or something? Maybe a thin black border around the post and buttons as one. Or make the box the same white as the post and use the grey as a wrapper. Honestly, it's really hard to tell when scrolling, I have a feeling this will cause a lot of wrong votes! It even confuses me which isn't hard yes I can figure it out, but have to think of users. Thanks!

So, I know the menu here is exclusive to IPS, but with the new large menu and the new selectors in the stream the first thread doesn't show up until a third of the way down the page. Can some of the info be combined or hidden by default to make more information show up on a page? For instance, I see a notice in very large font that says Unread Content on the left. That can definitely be smaller or moved up higher. Then to the far right of that I see RSS (I have no idea what I am supposed to do with that). Next below that I have the fancy new selector. As it happens in social media you dont want to be bothered by certain members. Facebook does this right by ignoring the members altogether, while IP just collapses the the thread. Would prefer the Facebook way

It would be nice if numbers, like post tallies and such, were run through number_format() so that they look correct. It's OK to just push out the raw number when your forum has 11 or 15 posts. But when you get to 583,382, the commas (or whatever your particular geography uses) are essential. The bonus is that number_format() automatically changes based on server location (assuming it was set up correctly), so IPS doesn't have to bother parsing commas versus periods or parenthesis.

Hello, Unless I have missed something, I can see there is no pagination in articles. What's the logic behind cutting a feature like this? We have articles that if you put them into one page you would be scrolling for 10minutes, nevermind all the load of the page to come in one bit. Is there any way around it? If not, how can I make an official request to bring back this feature? Thanks.

For the new filters can you add a reset, so if in a stream you select 5 new filters, you can click "Reset Filters/Revert Changes" to go back to default. They stick if you refresh, to reset you have to revisit (click stream again from menu). A reset would be good. On mobile it would be good outside the collapsed menu. I see with our own streams we have "Don't Save" which does not revert the settings. Maybe change that language to Revert Changes, make it revert, and apply to all streams. Is there a need for "Don't Save"? Also I was thinking since the menu floats on full site, can the Expanded/Condensed view toggle float with it? Thanks

The Best answer feature, then this is ticked the answer is moved to the top under the question. Whilst good it also removes it from the thread, it would be good to have the option to leave this in the thread as well and just placing a copy at the top, otherwise the thread is missing a post and it can become out of synch.

As this still seems to be a thing.. I would like to share this here in the product feedback section to higher chances staff will read this. There are a view features in IPS that are currently disabled by default and should either be enabled or allowed to be set enabled/disabled by the administrators. Features I am talking about in my case: Status Updates and View Signatures. This issues was reported several times and there is a tool on Marketplace to help fix this. Marketplace offers a fix: Could you please add a settings option in future updates so Admins can decide whether it is enabled or disabled by default?

Some widgets, such as online users, take up way too much space when compressed to the mobile view, and it should be possible to hide them on mobile so that users can more easily scroll down to the widgets that are below it. (For reference, the online user list takes up over 1000 vertical pixels on desktop, let alone mobile).

Most people know that Facebook updated its LIKE-system. In this forum, https://linustechtips.com/main/, I found that they created a plugin that does a similar Like-system and I think it's very cool. I would like to suggest to add a similar system into IPB because I believe it's very strong.

there are so many things that could be debugged and fixed if only you had all the information at hand when someone makes a support request or contact us post all the meta data that is essentially free without forcing the user to fill out a form or multiple communication exchange requesting such info. browser platform versions os screen theme etc... everything that doesn't require you to have to go dig or as for this information.

Notifications for upvotes/helpful votes. Question forums or Helpful votes in reviews, both are upvotes that could be tied to the notification system. ______ found your review helpful. ______ upvoted your answer/question. You could lump them in with the Likes setting for notifications. Setting: Someone 'likes' something I posted or votes it up or helpful. These are currently anonymous though. This would either mean they are no longer anonymous, or, it does not tell you who. A member found your review helpful. A member upvoted your answer/question. I have been thinking about this for quite some time and I thought it would be a good improvment on the tagging system. When using a #hashtag it would link to other tags that have been posted through the community. so say I put #anime or #Anime it would link to all the topics, articles, gallery images, downloads, and blog entries that contain the tag Anime or anime. This would also be a way of tagging content as well. So say I do a post and I create a hashtag #tIPS4Forever and other people use this hashtag it would pull up all the topics articles etc. linked with that tag.

Currently with the gallery module there is no quick way to delete multiple images. For moderators, you get a check box and a pop-up that allows you to do it but for some unknown reason this isn't available to members. To delete 10 images in an album, a member has to click each image and then go to 'manage image' then go to 'delete' and then go back and do the same for each one. Clearly this is a terrible experience (like almost all parts of the gallery module) for our members and any community that uses the gallery as a key component to the forum. Thanks, Si

It would greatly improve activity if we could Like and comment on (Gallery) images in the stream. You can click to see the full image in the lightbox, then you close it, but can't do anything. You have to click to the image title to leave the stream when you already saw the image. How about a Like button and comment box right there? I understand the mentality of streams is to not interact since you don't see the full context (forums posts, blogs, articles), but with an image, you are seeing the context. With status updates, you can interact in the stream, and a status update can be an image btw, so maybe people will use this instead of Gallery. I feel peopl…

Here are a few things I'd like to see in 4.2 since I don't think any of this will be done in 4.1.9 all these suggestions actually existed in 3.4 Private chat logs: currently we can only view public chat logs and not private ones. If not since the PM Viewer application exists so should a private chat logs one. I have found this to be a recent issue for me. Wondering if it is some type of configuration on my part or Facebook. The issue arises when a member shares a link with facebook. The link appears to work fine, a nice image is used on the FB entry and the link looks legitimate. http://www.goancestry.com/forums/index.php... Hi, in some forums (like ours) usergroups are something private and must not be published to members. Please remove any occurrences of this usergroup list from website parts the normal user can access. Or better, add a feature to enable/disable it. We don't want to show the people in which category we have set them.

Hello, I found a problem: if I have the same tag on multiple forum (for example: "For Sale" in "Books", "Shoes" and "Cars") when I click on tag the system shows me all the results for that tag and not for single forum (like "For Sale" only in "Books" etc). Imho, this is unconfortable and a big issue.

Whether it's the forum or articles, often times it would be beneficial to allow the content item (and title) to be edited by the author after the edit window has closed for comments/replies. These would be great as separate settings. You can see examples here on this forum when people post how-tos and they can only post updates as replies. The original post is often null and can even contain detrimental information due to updated steps that can only be seen in replies. Per app would be great as well. Can edit content item? Time____ Can edit comments/replies? Time____ Thanks!

There is already a script to convert the database from UTF8 to UTF8MB4 when you upgrade from 3.4 to 4.1. But for those that did not converte the datase at that time for any reason, there is no later option. Please, add an option for conversion in 4.1. In our community users are demanding Emojis, so we will have to convert to UTF8MB4. A conversion without IPS support can lead to many problems:
