  1. In all previous versions of the Calendar with the RSVP to Calendar events, the event host and admin had the option to remove any person who was not welcome at that particular event. Sadly this option that has been available in all previous versions is no longer available in version 4. We recently had it happen on our site that one of the members who had RSVP’d to one of the Calendar Events was permanently banned due to their behaviour. While it is possible to delete all their content from the Admin CP there is no way for either Admin or the Event Host to remove this person from the RSVP list. If we have had this kind of thing happen it must be something that has come up with others as well. In ALL previous versions it was a very simple matter for either the event host or admin to remove any unwanted attendees from the RSVP list.
  2. Currently in IP.3 and I believe IP.4 too, the checkbox for 'Send me news and information' is checked by default. There is no way to change this in admin. Campaign Monitor and almost all other email providers do not allow this as a way to subscribe to a list and it very much goes against best practise as well as email legislation in some countries I believe. I think it would be sensible to provide an option in admin to check/uncheck, or simply have it 'unchecked' as default. Currently, it's not ideal. Cheers, Si
  3. It would be very nice if we could enable line numbers for code snippets inserted with the code editor. As we run a forum for programmers where lot of code snippets will be posted having the line numbers would help so that when something is being discussed we can make reference to specific lines of code. Right now you can add more languages but you can't enable line numbers.
  4. Hello, would it be possible to implement a usergroup based admin option if posted links in "status updates" were shown as a parsed & clickable link? We use the feature status updates not as "Whats on your mind". We have renamed this function to "Important News". Ordinary the group "users" should can post NEWS without parsed links, but "admin, mods & users+" should can post clickable links. Maybe an option for a further update? THX in advance Tigerhome.de
  5. back in past in 3.x we get the ability to add "type of media support" by uploading thing there : Look & Feel tab -> Post Content -> Manage Media Tag in my case i use short flv video and i notice they aren't supported in 4.1 and like i migrated from 3.x and have using the module from @Marcher Technologies i think we perhaps need one in 4.x but but were to add him like this "manage media tag" not existing and were i can see what is supported or not ?
  6. Please can we have a couple of features regarding passwords 1. Specify password policy for new passwods - i.e..minimum number of characters and which characters to use - mixed case, numbers, special chars etc. 2. The ability to force a password reset for a group. Cheers

  8. Hi, Maybe there is already a plugin to do that, but I am not sure. When we ban someone manually, we can simply move him to the "Banned Users" usergroup that we have. This way, on all of ther user's posts, it will show "Banner User" on his mini profile next to the post, where the usergroup is displayed. However, if the user is banned automatically because he has reached a certain number of infraction points, he remains on the regular usergroup, so other users are not aware that the user was banned. So I want to know a way to make the forum display a "user banned" message on the mini profile regardless of the user's usergroup... Any ideas on how I could accomplish that? After upgrading an active forum we've received numerous complaints about the lack of a "star" * to indicate / confirm for them that they are actually logged in anonymously when they see their name in the recently browsing box etc. I also think this should be added back, as members now feel constantly unsure whether other see they read the page or not.

  11. I have a few dedicated forums for people to post samples tips or techniques but that forum is the first one in the index. Even though i have instructions in RED text when in the forum not to post questions in the forum people do anyway - I even had to make that forum moderated so general questions don't end up in that forum. I would like the forum instructions to persist on the "Create New Topic" layout above the Title. For the given forums that have some instructions that the user should be reminded of. Perhaps a confirmation button that they must also acknowledge the instructions then the "Submit Topic" button becomes available?! In the past I had used some plugin to put some default text into the body of the post when creating a topic but that forced the user to delete the content, and write the post.
  12. With some long topics it would be a great option to see the first post highlighted at the top of every page of that topic for reference. That, or a "pin post in topic" option that did the exact same thing but let you choose the post. But in most cases, for me, this would be post #1. So highlighting the first post would be a great option. Could be a per forum setting, or a "after x pages, enable" setting. Thanks
  13. Currently a number of clicks can be counted only if you upload image banner. It would be great, if IPS developers add a placeholder for custom HTML advertisement codes, which allow to count clicks. So an admin can use it like this <a href="{counter}http://advertiserswebsite.com">Click here! It's my custom advertisement!</a> After that {counter} will be replaced with some internal script URL, which counts clicks and redirects users to the real destination.
  14. I would like to ask for Marketplace "Rules and Regulations" for contributors to be published. The text should explain which files should be accepted or rejected my Marketplace moderators. I would also ask for more strict rules of accepting addons and modules to the Marketplace: if not all words in an addon are language abstracted and it can not be fully translated through the language strings, then this should not be accepted to the Marketplace by moderators.
