I'm trying to setup the formatting of the profile cards to the left of forum posts with visual badges to depict group membership. I am aware that if I knew how to edit CSS coding better I could achieve what I want to do, but it seems to me an easy on/off button for these labels alongside the field for adding a graphical badge when setting up groups would make this task universally much easier.

Bots remember answers very quickly and spam. We need a dynamic system of questions and answers (for example, simple arithmetic operations, some simple puzzles)

Would it be possible to add the ability to mark content read within Gallery? If a bunch of images are added, there is no way to mark those as read within the activity stream to more easily track new content. It requires marking the full site as read.

I was creating a bulk mail. I wanted to send it to all users who specified "Essen" in a profile field (a city in Germany). But then among the recipients were users who had specified "Hessen" in the profile field (a state in Germany). Same problem woul be if an user specified Wittenberg and another user Wittenberge – two different cities. To avoid wrong bulk mail sendings let's choose between exact matches and non-exact matches or use only exact matches in member filters.

Hello, I was asked to post this in the feedback section in response to my support ticket... Please could you update the Redis configuration settings in Advanced Configuration, to include a USERNAME field for compatibility with the latest stable release of Redis (currently v6.2.5). https://redis.io/download IPS needs to be able to pass the username as part of the configuration, whereas previous it was just an optional password (due to changes that came about with the improved security and ACL feature). https://redis.io/topics/acl Many thanks.

First of all, I want to thank a random user for introducing me to IPS. I'm a XenForo fanboy and have left it in the past. I love IPS, the only thing I feel is missing is the ease of customizability that we had with XenForo, where you could edit individual items CSS styling without opening the entire stylesheet or code file.

Often times, we have Events whereas the member will RSVP but may bring a guest or several guests. It would be a huge benefit to have a plus N capability with Event RSVP to get accurate counts and manage capacity. This is really a big gap in how we can effectively manage our Events through the IPS Event Calendar.

I love the design of the nice big green "Go to solution" button. Very easy to locate, obvious: I wish the design of the "Go to this post" link in a Recommended post pane was consistent with that design, easy to locate and obvious. Right now I feel this pane is confusing.: How about something more similar to the "Go to solution" with a nice big green "Go to this post" button at the bottom left instead? I'm no designer but I'm thinking something more like this:

Some observations for Gallery with lots of images/albums: I tried to upload an album with 1200 small images here on the site. Issues: 1. After the collection process, it wouldn’t move on to the upload process. 2. I then uploaded in smaller batches (e.g. 600 pictures), but after the upload process, only 391 images were actually in the album. I already learned that this is likely related to php.ini settings in regards to how many variables can be processed/submitted, but I think that the Gallery app should be proactive about it. It shouldn’t fail silently. If necessary, it should read those values and warn or reject images that couldn’t be handled. …

Most of our user base browse our forum in dark recording studios and complain about the bright website, being used to dark mode. I wish Invision would add a Dark mode option. I know there are workarounds, and I know about the Dark Mode 3rd party plug-in but it's got its own issues, so I would favor a built-in user setting in the core software.

Hey there, since updating to 4.6.2 my members are missing the feature of emphasized topic titles for unread topics / posts in topic feeds. Support told me they removed this feature due to performance reasons. Could you please re-add this feature or at least make it configurable? My board never had performance issues due to this feature and I'd really like to have it back. Those topics still get emphasized in the normal forum view but not when included in topic feeds. Many regards Marco

For a long time I thought: "no wonder people prefer a Facebook group over my forum, the Facebook group is so much more active!" Now I realize it's not. It's just that Facebook doesn't show you the same boring list of topic titles with every visit. Instead, each time you go back to the page, it shows you something new, even if it's old content. So on the first visit you may see a question from 5mn ago, then if you go back in 5mn and there's no new activity, it will show you a question from 40mn ago, then if you go back one from 1 day ago etc. The fact that you see the (beginning of the) question right away, perhaps with a couple of answers already, makes it quic…

Would be nice to be able to convert a Forum topic to an Event and have the topic OP become an editable Event, and all the replies become the comments. This would help maintain the history and context of the event discussion and then elevate it to an actual calendar event with dates/times, RSVP, etc.

I sell ad banners directly to my clients. No DoubleClick Google or any of that. Is there or would it be hard to create a more advanced banner Ad dashboard for IPS. Ad impressions per week, clicks per week and such. The current system is very basic. It gives a start date and then total impressions and total clicks to date. More granular data would be super helpful. A better interface for the banners themselves would also be great. I would like to assign a client name to a banner and then be able to filter by the client and such.

The awards/badges are really a cool feature. Unfortunately by default they are only displayed on the user's profile page and on the popup (username mouseover). I'd love to see options to make awards/badges more visible throughout the Invision Community Suite. Why not show them in the forum postbit? Or even as little icons behind a username in various other places (blog articles, pages articles, comments in blog/pages/galery... entries etc.)? Maybe not all awards/badges at once, as this could make it very crowded, but with an option in the ACP per award/badge that allowes displaying them. It is a bit sad that although a user might have earned quite a few awards/b…

One of the things I like about Invision Community is the ability to create Pages/CMS records from content published in other areas of the site. In my case, I am exploring leveraging the engaged community on my forums to help populate news stories across my website. So in my situation, I tend to use the CMS 'Copy to Database' feature with Topics often. However, this causes a little confusion with regards to discoverability and organised search, as content that has been linked/connected in this way are not listed as such in search results or activity feeds. This means that, if a lot of your site content relies on the marriage between CMS/Pages and Topics/other content,…

Pages has an option to edit the URL, so why not add that for the topics as well? 😉 Google doesn't like too long URLs*, which are unfortunately created by the topic title name. Instead of an automatic title like in the example above: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/469943-ability-to-re-order-create-menu-functions-a-current-applicationpages-design-issue/ You could set your URL, containing only key phrases to: https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/469943-ability-reorder-functions-pages-issue/ * - Why having shorter URLs improves your ranking on Google

If I have an image in a member's gallery, can the same image also appear in other "sub-galleries" without having to re-upload it? For example, a member might have 10 photos in their own gallery. Then, a challenge is posted and a sub-gallery is created for images meeting certain criteria. If the member has one of his 10 photos meets those criteria, can they show their image in that new gallery other than reposting it?

Cloudflare R2 is a storage method like Amazon S3 and both are Api Compatible. R2 is a lot cheaper than S3, there are the prices: Would it be viable for IPS to add support for it? It would be a really upgrade for IPS self hosting clients, since in R2 bandwidth is free, we only pay for storage and operations.

I like the fluid forum view for staying on top of the forum contents, but the categories list takes up a lot of valuable real estate on a page we are trying to make the most of. I suggest making the categories box collapsed by default, and then allow the user to expand it when desired. Maybe this can be done in a drop-down box like the compact view does it. We have a side bar filled with other stuff, and its a little awkward that the fluid and traditional views result in a side bar with a much different height.
