While editing an article, it says, "Your content will need to be approved by a moderator" but it gets saved without going to moderation. A user could submit a clean article first and once it gets approved, he could edit it later to add some affiliate links into it and save it silently and no one may notice it with the above issue as articles are not as monitored as the forum posts.

Please can you make this option accessible from a dedicated menu and/ or available in the search field, such as when entering, "rebuild", in the search box... "AdminCP -> Downloads -> Categories -> Forum Topics -> Rebuild topic content" ...it is not often I need to use it though when I do I always seem to struggle to locate it, like it is hidden on purpose! Additionally it would be nice to have an option to rebuild all topic content instead of having to individually go to each and every category to complete... Ted.

In the circled area, there's a "max file size" that is currently set to 3MB. I'd like to increase that, but there appears to be no option in AdminCP to allow me to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction (or if no such option exists, please include an option for this in the next V4 revision / in V5).

The Revisions link has a class assigned to it that is conflicting with the class of another item on Events page and cannot be used exclusively. #elCalendarSettings, a.ipsButton.ipsButton_link.ipsButton_verySmall.ipsButton_fullWidth .ipsApp .ipsButton_link Please assign an ID (or a unique class) to the Revisions link.

Hi, The posts counter present in the forums list currently displays the total number of unarchived posts. It would be nice if it would display the total number of posts (unarchived + archived). For example, here in our install, the "Redes e Internet" forum is said to have 130.7k posts. However, I ran a manual query and confirmed that this is the number of unarchived posts. In this particular forum, we have 237,907 archived posts, so we'd rather see 368.6k posts being listed, as it is the correct amound of posts available in that particular forum, rather than the number of unarchived posts. Since we are online 20+ years now, we have more archived tha…

Obviously, IC does not use full-text search but also lacks the basic stemming, synonyms, plurals in search. If we search for the word "consist" and there also exist words like consists, consistent, consistently, etc. these additional words are not matched in the search which does an exact word match search only making the search far from accurate. As you are aware, stemming works by using the derived variations of the word's root in the search. Searched word: manage Root: manag Stems: manage, manager, managers, manages, management, managerial, managing... Now we can use these root words with wild cards in search logic for a knock-out search. …

I've been seeing these template errors within several posts tonight. Sometimes they don't appear but it appears to be somewhat random though. I should add that this is within the forums here though.

Invision Community is, in my opinion, one of the best scripts in this field. However, what makes it great isn't just the script itself but also the developers who have become integral to the community. There are two developers I've seen who do their job exceptionally well—InvisionHQ and Adriano Faria. From what I've observed, they've been in this market for years and have contributed significantly. But there's a concern here. What happens if we encounter problems with these developers who have monopolized the market? <Redacted>

Summary: The "Can post anonymously" function conflicts with the "Automatically follow content" feature. When a user posts anonymously, their username still appears in the list of users following the topic, effectively revealing their identity despite posting anonymously. Steps to Reproduce: Enable both the "Can post anonymously" and "Automatically follow content" features for a user. The user posts content anonymously in a specific topic. The user's name is automatically added to the list of users following the topic. Check the list of followers for the topic. Expected Behavior: When a user posts anonymously, their identity sh…

While editing a forum, calendar, gallery category, etc, there is an option to copy a setting value to other nodes of the same type. Would it be possible to add something similar for the groups? Since groups are active records rather than nodes, the option is not available automatically.

Hi all, It has been brought to my attention by members that it is not possible to add quotes when editing a post. I can confirm this. When editing a post, I have tried adding a regular quote, adding a multiquote, and a highlight quote - they all fail and instead quote to a new reply. Since Invision uses the third-party CKEditor, perhaps there is nothing to be done. But I thought it worth mentioning with v5 coming out and Invision developing their own editor.

Hi IPS, When uploading new file the system will send notification about new version upon submission. Problem is when there is a need to reupload package, e.g. due to typo etc. System will send new release notification again so, what is misleading to users. Can you add a checkbox within file submission form so we can decide whether or not to send email/notification? please. I do not see a reason spamming users unnecessarily.

Well, without any prior notice that I was aware of, when I updated to the recent Board software the POPULAR NOW Block on right column of my home page disappeared. Kaput. I contacted Support and apparently this Block was removed from the Plan I am on. A similar “Trending Now” Block is available on other Plans. Starting at $250/month. That would put me out of the Discussion Forum business. All for one simple Info Block. This is a blow to my long term community. 22 years running with a Conversion to IPB in 2016. That block is an integral part of my Members Board browsing and participation experience. Could the IPB team PLEASE explain to me the reason and lo…

Currently, we have leaderboards based on reactions, but a leaderboard based on the number of "Solutions" will encourage people to write more useful answers. Therefore, a Leaderboard and Widget (similar to "Popular Contributors," but based on solved topics) would be very useful.

So, the Ignore feature is extremely lacking in all of what should probably be essential functionality. Currently, by default, you can only ignore someone's: Forum Posts, Messages, Signatures, and Mentions. While that's great and all, it's an extremely simplistic view of an Ignore/Block function. All major platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc) have a way to Block and/or Ignore a user account. This hides all of that user's comments and contents and/or blocks them from viewing your content and profile. This is a major oversight in functionality that's missing in the IPS software. Not to mention that the Ignore function misses almost all of the other IPS default applications (Pa…

It would be very helpful if admins were allowed to change the "joined" date of members, since sometimes new logins are created and don't reflect how long a member (or member turned moderator!) has been present in a forum. Thank you!

When viewing a topic in a forum you usually see the number of posts a member has made together with the number of solutions they have provided. The problem is that the solutions statistic is only shown when viewing topics in a Questions forum or a Discussions forum with the option Enable Solved? enabled. If the forum has the Enable Solved? option disabled, this check below in the postContainer template fails because $comment->author_solved_count is not set: {{if isset( $comment->author_solved_count )}} <li> {{if \IPS\Member::loggedIn()->canAccessModule( \IPS\Application\Module::get( 'core', 'members', 'front' ) ) }} <a href='{ur…

OpenSearch 2.1 compatibility ->https://invisioncommunity.com/release-notes/473-r114/ I'm setting up a new Debian server to host our eletronicabr.com forum. I noticed that Opensearch compatibility is only up to version 2.1. But this version is not available for installation on the website https://opensearch.org/downloads.html These are the available versions in the repository: sudo apt list -a opensearch Listing... opensearch/stable 2.13.0 amd64 opensearch/stable 2.12.0 amd64 opensearch/stable 2.11.1 amd64 opensearch/stable 2.11.0 amd64 opensearch/stable 2.10.0 amd64 opensearch/stable 2.9.0 amd64 opensearch/stable 2.8.0 amd64 opensearc…

Hello Team, When rich text is pasted into the editor, the text has style attributes like so (taken this example from this IC site and pasted into editor using color themes): <p style="background-color:#ffffff; color:#2f3d4b; font-size:14px; text-align:start"> The pasted rich text displays fine on a white theme due to matching colors. However, on a dark theme, the pasted text displays in black on a white background (opaque). To make this transparent and display pasted content as expected on any color theme using current theme's colors, we just have to get rid of the background, background-color and color attributes from the HTML. Please eliminate…

Hello, starting from the issue I have reported here, I think it would be great to add an option to decide for how long to keep revisions in the Pages application. I have many records in pages, and some of those records are edited several times per day. I do not need those revisions to be kept FOREVER, and I would like an option to automatically delete the revisions after X days/weeks/months/years. This would avoid keeping revisions forever, which is slowly but inexorably increasing the size of my database. Thank you!

I would like to obtain information about managing the commerce aspect of our site v5. Could you provide me with details on how transactions will be handled, the creation of payment pages, and the management of subscriptions? I am particularly interested in how the sales processes will be integrated and optimized for a smooth user experience. Thank you in advance for your help.

It would be an amazing feature if ban settings treated all email addresses as if the piece before the "@" sign was the same with periods removed when checking whether an email address can be registered. Moving periods around in gmail email addresses is massively abused by scammers -- I probably see 100+ registrations per day with this issue that I need to delete. Basically it would mean that adding "I.am.a.scammer@gmail.com" to the ban settings would also block Iama.scam.er@gmail.com. Any chance of getting this into a future edition? Eric
