Currently, there seems to be no option to send out Bulk Mail on a schedule like once a week or once every other week. Sending bulk mail manually is old-fashioned and cannot be done consistently as humans. Please add this scheduling option to automate this as filters would take care of targeting the recipients.

It would be nice if this sign-up check can also be implemented when a member attempts to change their email address, after sign-up... Ted.

When Quick Search is disabled for Guest users, it does not render the Search input field as expected. However, this might result in making non-savvy guest users thinking that the site does not have a search feature. Instead, display a dummy div similar to the search input that cannot be edited and has a placeholder text and "not-allowed" cursor to indicate its availability to logged-in users only which may encourage guests to sign up. It's not a readonly input that could be manipulated in the inspector to submit. This will also ensure positional integrity. You can see this implemented on our site. Here is the (quick-n-dirty) code that went into the …

Hello, I recently came back as a designer after some years of pauze from theme design. I used to be a theme designer here on IPS, and as most theme designers, the marketplace was THE backbone of the community driven development and designers group. It brought life, passion and energy in an area that would otherwise be plain boring. I hope it's not against the rules to debate this, but I was really surprised, to see that a community software package, has decided to take the 'community' and drive out of their community basically, with the removal of marketplace. The reason for this was that marketplace sales had gone down for 75% for a while, but this also…

I have some basic questions about the 4.7 board that I can't find in the Help guide. I have tried searches using the invisioncommunity search bar but the results are so far off that I almost always revert to a Google search that helps me find some of the answers. My feedback is for IPS to make a concerted effort to improve the search bar function using AI that helps to narrow search. Example: unread/read topic status buttons AI: are you asking about the topic status buttons? Yes AI: Those buttons show the read/unread status of a topic How can I change the shape of the status buttons AI: This topic might address your question .... or y…

I want to appreciate the Invision Community Staff and creators of the software. Its been a pretty long journey for me with the software. I purchased my first license back in 2007 but loved the look and feel of the software even before that as I saw it on a site I frequented often. The smoothness, the well crafted forum posts. It had nothing on the free forum softwares that I had been using up until that point and it certainly was leaps and bounds better than vBulletin which I always found clunky and busy. To put it extremely lightly, I was infatuated with this software from the first time I used it. To say that I was absolutely flabbergasted when people bai…

Hi All Hopefully an admin/developer will see this post. The forums have the ability to setup One Time Pass 2 factor authentication via the Google Authenticator option - which is great! However, when you have many accounts in your Authenticator app, with the same email address against them. When you scan the QR code it overrides existing accounts in your Authenticator App. I am using the Microsoft Authenticator App, as this is my preference. I have written an app myself which generates otpauth:// addresses for QR codes which doesn't have this problem. I have noticed in your code you have the following line: system/MFA/GoogleAuthenticator/Handl…

It is possible to link comments within the Pages module into Forums but, would love to see the ability to do this from within the Blog module as well. Currently, blog posts have their own, separate comments, and having the option of linking it to the forums would be a nice feature to have.

It would be nice if the Followers box in the profiles had the option to display who the user is following, as well as who is following the user. It's virtually useless to show who is following a user (except for the users who like to count how popular they are), but no one can access the users they are actually wanting to follow themselves. Maybe this box could have the option to default to either option?

I don't understand why there is a big gap between the image description and the comment section. You have to scroll to see that there is a comment section (Because the Photo Information column is taking up vertical space) 1. Would be great to have option to hide the photo info box entirely if not needed to push up the comment section 2. Have the comment section moved up under the description box. I have members choosing to "Report Content" because they think that's how to leave a comment - rather than scrolling down to find the comment section.

I have 16 moderator groups. Some of them are older and some newer, and their settings are not in sync. Rather than editing each one separately, is there a way to do a bulk edit on the moderation settings? Thanks.

When Google Maps integration is enabled, Events: Overview displays a Happening Near You block at the top of the page. All our events are in a small area, so this is useless and occupies the prime space on the page. It should be possible to disable the block.

A page listing all the predefined tags could be added under Browse menu to navigate content by tags. Currently, users have no way to know all the available/existing tags or their correct paths. Please confirm if this is added to your Roadmap.

Currently, the user has to choose a subforum and assign tags to new topics as only the tags are found to be used for rendering Similar Content widget and marking up meta keywords (if no tags selected -> then no Similar Content widget and no meta keywords). If configured in ACP to not use tags, then use Subforum name to filter/render Similar Content widget and also use the same Subforum name to mark up the meta keywords. With the above option of not using tags, Articles could also use Subforums instead of categories on the Article posting form (so the article gets cross-posted into the chosen subforum optionally) and article URL can optionally have the subforu…

Clicking on RSS feed item title link > show image, description, date, etc. in a popup with a link to Complete Article . Clicking on the "Complete Article" should open the link on the origin site in a new window. This would make it more usable and interactive with better UX.

The last update made some changes to caching of RSS widgets by their individual cache life times to resolve the reported issue (as the widget was using the global cache lifetime incorrectly). However, since the entire widget is being cached to address language and theme choices, this did not resolve the issue completely as different users using different themes (even with the single language) don't get to reuse the cached content and resulting in full refresh for each such user each time. Caching the entire widget is ideal for guest users and search bots. Data should be transparent and theme-agnostic as it should be able to render using any theme without perform…

Render the full title of each item (even if it spans multiple lines) instead of truncating them to 1 line inside the widget or make this configurable. This would be helpful as there is no description in the feed items and seeing partial title is not very helpful.

RSS Import widget could have a Refresh button in its header to refresh the individual widget on demand using AJAX (instead of needing to refresh the entire page and all other widgets).

RSS Import widget could load the page first showing widgets with a "progress-bar/processing..." gif inside each widget and use AJAX to refresh widgets as the user scrolls down the page using lazy loading (similar to YouTube embeds). This would give optimal UX as the user may not scroll down to see/consume all the widgets after each page refresh. These would make the page load faster and optimal as needed.

RSS items are not sorted by date descending. Results are all over the place, unintuitive and user-unfriendly and this offers a bad UX as the user to remember what they saw during last page refresh and wade through the list to see what items are new in current page refresh. New items should be on the top.

Based on this discussion here: I'd like to suggest a feature. Because users, who use OAuth2 based SSO don't have the option to uncheck the "remember me" option when loggin in their session never expires. So they stay logged in forever on every device they ever logged in (if they don't log out manually). I'd like to haven an option in AdminCP, to configure in the OAuth2 SSO configuration, that sessions with this OAuth provider should expire after x hours/days. IPS should than check, if the user is still logged in at the SSO provider. And if not, than terminate the session.

Having recently rejoined as a new member since previously being a member and support volunteer many years ago when the version number was 3.0.x to 3.1x I decided to become a client again after using the version 5 alpha test site and helping others with finding bugs. Initially getting a trial for the current version 4, I decided to purchase a self hosted version, even though I have no plans on having a live forum. Simply wanting to be reacquainted with the Admin CP area and learn all the setting and customisation options. In the current version it is such an improvement in functionality from previously, although that was still easy to use. Installation was …
