Giray
I wish there was a way to take a picture with an iPhone (or Android), assign an IPS album, tap-tap and the image is uploaded. We can upload direct to IG, FB, Tw, why not IPS? Did I miss something that exists or is it simply not technically possible?
arrowman
Hi, Still not getting any suggestions after so long? I wonder if you have found any solution. Regards
Randy Calvert
This would require some sort of native app which IPS is not supporting. So don’t expect this sort of functionality anytime soon given they abandoned the idea of developing a native app in favor of PWA.
Ehren
Attaching images using your phone camera has been around for some time, and is available in both v4 and v5. The "Add Files" button will appear if your device supports that feature. SeNioR-
Feneroin
I've tried from my smartphone Android and it seems working... Taken photo directly from my Honor Magic5 Pro Maybe your settings/permissions are not set properly @Giray ? arrowman
The problem here is that iPhone uses the HEIC format to save space, among other things. This means that the user must change the settings before uploading any images to the Community Gallery. Apple was the first major adopter of the format in 2017 with the introduction of iOS 11. While HEIC became the standard for iPhones, it is still possible to reverse the setting to allow photos to be recorded in the more recognizable JPEG format. PalmTalk
So, is there any way to configure things so that HEIC photos can be uploaded and viewed within the post like a .jpg?

HEIC is only supported by Safari at this time and minimal at that: https://caniuse.com/?search=heic . If it ever becomes more widely supported, I'm sure, we'd improve how they get embedded. David N. Posted yesterday at 08:41 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:41 AM The ideal solution would be if any photo/video format could be converted on the fly to something useable, the way Facebook does it.
