Direct iphone photos to ips upload?

I wish there was a way to take a picture with an iPhone (or Android), assign an IPS album, tap-tap and the image is uploaded. We can upload direct to IG, FB, Tw, why not IPS? Did I miss something that exists or is it simply not technically possible?

The problem here is that iPhone uses the HEIC format to save space, among other things. This means that the user must change the settings before uploading any images to the Community Gallery.
Apple was the first major adopter of the format in 2017 with the introduction of iOS 11. While HEIC became the standard for iPhones, it is still possible to reverse the setting to allow photos to be recorded in the more recognizable JPEG format.

So, is there any way to configure things so that HEIC photos can be uploaded and viewed within the post like a .jpg?

HEIC is only supported by Safari at this time and minimal at that: https://caniuse.com/?search=heic . If it ever becomes more widely supported, I'm sure, we'd improve how they get embedded.
