When you install IPB 4 you have the option of choosing your primary app such as Forums, Blogs, or Pages. Does anyone know if there's a way to change it without reinstalling the system? I'm quite curious about it as I play around with the software. Edit: As soon as I posted it figured it out. awesome Thanks! I upgraded several out-of-date applications earlier, however in the process (no errors) my sites been messed up a fair bit. I've managed to resolve the majority, as for some reason blocks was deleted - along with widgets duplicated in some of the deleted contents place. The problem is now, I had a 'chat' link which had cometchat embedded but for some reason I can't get it to work now. Hello, I've added one of the modules to the top of my forum with the latest activity. However, I'd like to add the function "Go to first unread" as in the forum view. At the moment clicking the link brings you to the first page. Is there a solution to this issue? Before, when using IPB3, I had a plugin with latest activity automatically refreshing. As it appears that it's not possible to have a computed field in a database (ie a field whose value is calculated based on other fields in the record) so I'm having to look at alternatives. "You could just calculate the value when displaying the record" I hear you say....yes, and it works fine. But I'd like to be able to allow people to sort the record table on these calculated fields. So....option available: use JS on the form which will re-calculate a field when one of the other fields changes. Nice and easy. I really need a block/widget/plugin that will pull the latest article(s) from a database category of my choosing to be displayed on the home page. I don't want it to be a list of the article titles and author name. I want it to be the actual article. The Post Feed block is a great example of what I want to achieve, but the only problem is that only works with forums and worse yet, it will display replies to topics. Can somebody help me put together a block that will achieve this?

Please help. When I look for images indexed by google for my site, I find lots of members profile images and profile backgrounds on google image search. A Lot of members will be unhappy about that. How to prevent indexing profile images and background pics. Please help.

Support may be real slow on the weekend can't blame them life does come before these forums, so I thought I would post here. I upgraded this morning to 4.1.9 from 3.4.8 and the index and ACP look like the picture attached here. The test site upgraded fine yesterday and I worked with it all day. I did the exact same thing this morning and the upgrade ran with no errors and the database converted. When I clicked the "Go to Suite" I was presented with this problem. Like they say, "The best laid plans..." Anyone that could point me in the right direction to fix it would be appreciated. Maybe just reuploading the files and running the upgrade again? Thanks,

When helping a friend convert her forum (RPG) to IPB we ran into the issue that our hundred accounts are now suddenly 15 due to all the mergers. This basically kills the entire spirit of the product for RPGs and I cannot think of a way to allow the same email to be used a half dozen times or more. Back on a few other competitor services we've been able to do this without a fuss. This is the first time we've even heard of the issue (and we didn't see any sort of notification about it). I just upgraded my test site to 4.1.9 I don't see a Members Tab, has it been discontinued? Or maybe my installation didn't work right. Search hasn't shown me anything and I haven't been able to make a menu tab so members can list forum members. Thanks,

Ok - Please dont shout at me if this has been covered before I am trying to post a paypal link into a post - I have done it beforee and it worked great - I have now changed some of the figures and want to put it back in So I open a new page and press "source" and paste in the link (as I done before) It thinks about it for a while and then it (the paypal logo) stares at me - Click the paypal logo and "Split" flashes at me (a mod permission?) and thats it - Go to Edit the post and the code looks very different from what I put in? Hi! My 4.0 Board only sends info on reply to topics, and never any info of new post on a daily, weekly or monthly base. I find this a bit confusing as I have a iboard 3.9 running on the same server, and there I dont have any problem, that one works just fine. Is this where Mandrill comes in play? or should my system still send the info? Best regards Andreas

While on mobile view, is it possible to have the sidebar shown on a popup drawer similar to the menu? This way the sidebar is more accessible instead of having to scroll through all the homepage content before finally reaching the sidebar content. In other words, we could have the menu popup on the right side as usual and the sidebar popup on the left side. Is this possible?

I get this message now based on the following parameters: viewing as Guest only threads in 3 forum/subforum locations on the site are throwing an error, but it's all of them within those folders they do not use any different templating than the rest of the site or have different permissions everything was working yesterday/the day before I already tried disabling the most recent plugin I installed which wasn't it How do I fix this? This is a pretty big one and I'm stumped
