Hi all, I have set up our new site with the help of IPS and my UK web guys (who are now retired) The site is looking and behaving exactly as I had imagined and I am in a very happy place :-) AMAZING SOFTWARE!... however..... I am not a software / web person and am struggling like mad to set up my Articles page which seems to require some kind of database stuff which I know nothing about. I have read the not very clear advice (people seem to ask about a specific thing) I just want to get its structure set up so that I can add content. Hello friends, ever since updating to IPS 4.1.11.1 - my Apache Error Log has been continuously throwing the following errors: PHP Fatal error: Access to undeclared static property: IPS\\core\\Statuses\\Status::$containerNodeClass in /home/forums/public_html/system/Content/Comment.php on line 1246 This error is flooding the logs, but does not seem to impact the board at all. Any ideas?

We are looking to design a custom plugin for our website, and in order to do so will need to pull the user session data when they log in (most noticeably the user email), so we can see if they match our paid subscribers email list. Does anyone know where to pull the user session data from? Thanks!

So, I originally had my website hosted by HyperFilter's servers and needed to switch to a cheaper-alternative for the moment (NFOSERVERS). - Have had two other forums on said webserver in previous years and never had an issue. I took the MYSQL backup and imported it into a database, took the file backup, transferred that into the new webserver, and changed the conf_global.php file to match the new database information and I'm getting an error while trying to access the forum directory that I simply can not figure out right now: If anyone is willing to help me out, that'd be great. Users on our community sometimes go to the forum and receive the message that says the forum is upgrading, even though it's not upgrading. They refresh and it's fine. Any ideas on what might cause this?

I am not sure if it is a bug or just my site so I want to ask other clients. In my download section I have comments disabled and reviews enabled and if a member posts an emote it double posts it. This only happens posting in reviews in my download section. Everywhere else on my site this does not happen. Anyone else having this issue? Or should I submit a ticket?

I had a server crash. Did a clean install of win server 2008 and I believe I have everything setup in IIS and restored MySQL database. The ips4.php all pass. I can logon onto the admin CP and everything appears to work fine and setting appear to look good. When I go to main screen just a plan white screen. I can turn the site off then browse to the site and I can see the offline screen just fine. I click to "sign in" and get HTTP 500 error. I switch back to default theme and same result. I also tried the "Something isn't working correctly" and that did not fix it either. I also found out that if a user was already login the site seems to work fine. I lo…

Hi there! I have been stuck on one part of this IPS process. I am not a techy person and need HELP!!!! All I want to do is create a homepage with my sales video and a button to JOIN - this brings the guest to the registration page. Do I have to do this externally or can I create this page within IPS?

Hi All, I have a doubt regarding RSS feeds. In 4.1.9, where can I find RSS export manager ? (its available in my current version 3.4.5) I know there is RSS feed for every section. But how can I create a single RSS feed for my entire forum by exporting topics of selected sections ? Without that, how will I be able to supply a RSS feed for FEEDBURNER mails ?

Hi! I've an user something write article but if write a long article not exist any way to save in draft or maintain in moderation queue (unapprove status) and permit future edit to continue this article before finish. then, something like: "draft status forn not complete articles - or permit edit if unapproved ..." can be a good way for this problem! atm, simply, i cannot provide a valid way for this! > if an user glad to write article cannot make partial article (if start and cannot complete, simply, is best to delete)! - please, fix this.

After upgrading to 4.0 having some server load problems. My server is running fine most of the time. Should the "Can use signatures?" option inside the Member Groups definitions turn off signatures of the groups you've disabled them for in existing posts? Or does it merely disable that Member Group's ability to edit their signature moving forward? I know that you can toggle the "Enable Signatures" option for all in the Profiles setting. That is not what I am after. I want to toggle the "Can use signatures" option per member group, and have my forum only display the signatures of those for whom I have enabled it, in all posts, past and future.

I have recently updated from IPB 3.4 to IPB 4.1, one of the things that I have noticed that aggravatingly different is that there seems to be no sorting of multiple files in a single download entry. Before in IPB 3.4 and previous versions this was always sorted alphabetically. Has anyone dealt with this issue, hoping there is a file somewhere I could edit that would fix this. IPB support doesn't seem too helpful on this issue.

Is there any way to change/adjust the extra space that happens after every return like this-on posts?: One return creates the above paragraph space. This creates issues when typing in addresses on different lines etc. Id rather there be no space and a double return create the space. Any help? Thanks.

I was sending out a bulk email via the IPS forum software, and realized that a lot of the spammers that I flagged, and then later "banned" were still receiving notifications or bulk emails. Is there a way to do a blanket "turn off" of notifications to any / all banned members, without having to go through each individual member and manually changing the setting? Thanks, Joel
