David.. reacted to Charles in Solved counter in all forums
That's a good point. I am going to check if this is intended or something we just didn't think about. But I agree with you 🙂
I'll follow up soon!

David.. got a reaction from Afrodude in Change Post Author - IP.Board 4.x
Thank you for the 4.6 update!
But it would have been much better if the option was placed inside the post options rather than next to the quote buttons.

Ah, you mean it modified the title of the webpage itself to include it?
That's certainly a feature I can work on implementing! It should be simple enough that I could have it out within the next release.

You should probably message support with this.
Make sure it’s not a plugin issue first.

David.. reacted to SJ77 in MAXMIND legacy support only?
I really like Maxmind but the support out of the IPS box seems to be only for legacy maxmind minfraud API
Maxmind just asked me if I would be upgrading to the non legacy version of Maxmind.
Does anyone know if the new version of IPS supports the upgraded Maxmind API?
Thank you in advance.

David.. reacted to Matt in 4.6: How to restore custom member titles
Invision Community 4.6 brings a brand new achievements system which overhauls the ranks system along with adding the ability to earn points which translates into a higher rank via rules.
As part of the clean-up, we removed the custom member title from the author section of the post as there's a limit to how much information we can show comfortably!
Of course, some communities used custom member titles and wish to continue using them. Fortunately it's easy enough to get them back.
Step 1: Log into the ACP and navigate to Members > Profiles > Profile Fields
Step 2: You will see a group called "Retained", inside is a new custom field called "Member Title". This profile field was used in the upgrade to save the custom member title data. Click on the pencil icon to edit.
Step 3: Post upgrade, this field is effectively switched off, but it can easily be switched back on. For the "Display format for topics" choose custom and just use: {$content} as the value. This will remove the "Member Title:" prefix. Save the changes.
You will now see the member title has been restored.
Advanced tip: Only do this if you are comfortable making theme edits! If it all goes wrong, don't panic. There is a revert button to undo your changes! Edit the template bit Forums > topics > postContainer in your active theme and move the block highlighted here up underneath the {{endif}} of the {{$comment->isAnonymous()}} block.

Looking for someone who can make me a niche specific icon package to use with the new 4.6+ achievement ranks and badges. Anyone interested or have a recommendation?

David.. reacted to aXenDev in Improving user status in hovercard
Hi,
In the IPS 4.6 update user's hovercard information what user do was removed.
I propose to restore this option.
Currently it looks like this:
The word "Online now" appears all the time for 15 minutes after the last user action.
In my opinion this is confusing and should be changed.
Here is my suggestion:
or
What do you think about it?
In my opinion, this last suggestion makes the most sense.

David.. got a reaction from Haku2 in Bitcoin Support for Commerce
Bitcoin is gaining popularity very fast and it would be good if the IPS Commerce would support it. Either via Stripe or another integration?
1 Bitcoin is currently worth $4662 right now. This is the Bitcoin chart over the years.

David.. reacted to Pavel Chernitsky in How about a built-in duplicate user detector?
Banning, blocking and moderating problematic users is all well and good, but if the user decides to open a new account and the site's admins can't detect it as a duplicate, all those tools are pretty useless.
I saw that through the years there have been a few plugins developed by the community, but I think that this should be a built-in integral functionality of the suite. Also the plugins are currently not available for purchase so I'm salty 😄
What do you guys think? Should we have a built-in tool to help us find and intercept trolls and toxic users? Especially given how fairly simple is should be to implement (makes a cookie and then checks for it).

David.. got a reaction from Techcloud in Mobile App, Progressive Web App (PWA) For IPB
I'm in for a mobile app for IPS. PWA is good, but they don't support notifications on iOS.
-edit-
PWA on iOS is pretty bad really. Maybe it can improve on future iOS versions but we can't really rely on PWAs for iOS right now.
