I am using forum as an area of discussion for team work and projects, for moderate purpose I need ability to insert a post into a topic thread, or say move a post to another position in a same topic.

Hey team! @Jordan Invision here. Slipping into my other account on Sunday funday to see what your thoughts are on this idea I've been thinking about. For many years, I've been interested in removing ads from my forum, but I think the standard subscription model for my community wouldn't go over well. I don't have any concrete proof, just a hunch. Now, if my members could actually earn money via Stripe for posting engaging content within our rules, that would be epic. --- Recently, I've been writing articles on Medium. Their business model (to me) is brilliant. Everyone wins: Medium, the publisher and the readers. They explain in detail what it…

Hello, It would be very helpful if database-stored files could be assigned a caching URL. Right now, they are at /index.php?file=xyz I am using a CDN for file-based storage, which covers JavaScript, CSS and emoticons, but there are still database-stored files such as user profile pictures etc. At this point I'd say this is the bulk of my data transfer. They don't seem to cache for very long in the user's browser either, despite barely ever changing. I do recognize this would require the user's setup to support friendly URLs. Most do, though. Thank you! James

Hi, I have a few suggestions for Pages App that I miss a lot after switching from Wordpress. The application itself works great and is very flexible, but it still lacks a lot of options, which I will try to describe below. First of all option which I miss on start is a Poll/Vote option, because I cannot add a poll with voting in any way to article, which is available only in the forum application. It would be great to see possibility to adding a poll into our articles. Tables - it is not possible to insert tables with a certain number of columns and rows. This option isn't available in any of the apps, but it would be nice to see one in Pages. For example, I a…

There is only one setting for status updates notification that contain the status you started, and the status you replied to it. This status update notification must be divided into two different settings. One for the status you started, and the second one for the status you replied to because it's really annoying sometimes whenever you reply to someone status. Then you receive at least 100 notifications on big comminutes or sometimes more than a 100. Live example: Today is @Jordan Invision birthday. "Happy birthday again mate" @Jordan Invision decided to create a status update "It's my birthday". It's important to him to receive a notification who replied…

I dont know if it's easy to do or but I'll just put this out there. whenever a member is banned (and since there is no more banned group) his name should be Struck out like this in posts, profile and other places you deem appropriate. A universal symbol which makes you instantly understand that a member is no longer a part of the community.

The idea is that you can save in your profile VIP subjects that you could classify in personal categories. Because for the moment I have to create bookmarks in my internet explorer. Example: tips, bug, fun, ... I had seen this feature on other forum that I find very practical.

The gallery application has gotten very good. We had our user images running through another system for a while but it is all back and everything is happy (thanks in no small part to the bulk upload feature). :) It would be nice if the user profile had a tab for the user's gallery images and downloads / files.

When topics are merged, the view (manage) requests are redirected, but not any other controller methods, including not embeds. The redirects are really useful, but given that most links are actually in the form of embeds there's a significant gap there. There's also a lot of room for improvement on stopping people from destructively merging the wrong way on big topics (followers don't get ported across, and are irrecoverably deleted, maybe some other things too). The first post in the topic will always be the oldest, regardless of which was kept, and in almost every case I can think of, that means I would want to keep that post's title and therefore URL as well.

Just a request to add an exclude filter on Activity Streams, as the inverse of the inclusion filter. Use case is I have a Recent Topics stream that has pretty much all forums except a few and it requires selecting a lot of them versus selecting just a few.

Hi there, For some of the widget/block feeds that are available in the IPS Suite there are many different variables you can select to enable/disable items from displaying such as Featured, Pinned, etc. I think it would be nice to add the option to restrict/allow items/records from displaying based on if they have a cover image/screenshot associated as well. In my specific case I am referencing blog entry feeds, but I believe this would be helpful in page records and downloads as well. Thanks for your consideration.

I have some non-English projects, where I have made some changes to the language strings. These changes should be permanent. There is also a language pack in Marketplace. When I upgrade the project, I have to make many steps to keep my custom translations. This is how I do it: Download the custom language as XML (Custom package) Download Marketplace package as XML (Marketplace package) Copy Marketplace package (Merged package) Upload a new version (Custom package) on Merged package Change the name of the package back to Merged Set Merged package as Default Disable other language packages When I'd like to change some strings in…

Please, add the ability to ignore content itens on streams. There isn’t much sense in ignore someone else’s posts and then have streams constantly bumped with topics/posts made by a ignored user. Tks.

How about integrate Telegram X with IPS? Consider the instant messenger use is essential for users, we can use this platform to populate our IPS website, are two systems or platforms that can be combined for better experience in our communities websites services and supports.

Hi. Invision Family. I remember that a year ago I reported a bug with some JQMIGRATE functions that have been deprecated. These warnings still appear in the console. [Intervention] Images loaded lazily and replaced with placeholders. Load events are deferred. See https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2048113 JQMIGRATE: jQuery.fn.bind() is deprecated JQMIGRATE: JQMIGRATE: jQuery.cssProps is deprecated Can we count on the bug being fixed in 4.6? Thanks. Yours sincerely.

Hello everyone, Today I learned something about IPS blocks and widgets that really surprised me. I've been using vBulletin for years (I hated it), and it was very easy to create a sidebar widget that would display the last topics/posts feed for a specific category. It even had the option to display the latest posts for the category on which the widget had been dragged on. On IPS, it's just impossible. Not only that, block locations and widgets work with templates. So, whenever I drag the default topic/post feed widget to a category, or a subcategory, or even a topic. All the cats, subcats and topics will inherit it 😞 I was shocked when I saw this today. Why…

Nowadays with virtual meetings, I sometimes show my screen during a call. If I have to go to the Admin CP, and I have to sign in, the two-step verification window is now visible to all. As I type in my challenge answer, everyone gets to see it. Considering it's a form of password, wouldn't it make sense to at least have the option to hide cover the answer with dots like a password? Not mission critical, but I think it would add some security comfort. Thx.

As the title suggests, if I restrict a member from posting for 30 days that should also restrict them from reacting to posts, or at least have an option to disable. Had a couple of members now taking their frustration out by trolling the moderators with reactions following their temporary restrictions. Work around has been to move them into different groups where they can make 0 reactions a day, but would be nice as I say to have that as an option.

How about move Topic Summary to the Reply To This Topic position? I feel this change make sense and will have better reading workflow. Because 1. The usability of Reply To This Topic is lesser. 2. After open a topic, the usability as user (specially new user) click to Topic Summary to take a general view will be a bit more. Because there contain a resume of betters posts information of the topic... In case of a topic with so much replies, the user will want to start read the summarized posts and the first post... I as user I don't want to read all posts... But will be interesting visualice the topic globally... That is why I suggest adding a Featured Post…

Does the e-commerce system already have this option or are you planning for the next updates to implement something similar to Sharetribe? https://www.sharetribe.com/ It is not the same as a classified, it is a virtual store to rent or book services or sell products where the community gets a small percentage of the sale.

A member on my site suggested that there could be a way to create "custom" (per user) categories for threads that they follow. This would allow them to digest things better than a huge list of followed threads. So when they follow they would get a drop down of categories they have defined (if more than the default of one). When they view followed threads, they would be listed under either the default or customer categories to help them find things. Seems like a useful idea?!
