FINALLY this is coming to IPS! 👍👍 This is a huge plus for everyone running anything close to a support forum. 3 ideas/suggestions: Clicking on the indicator should take one to the first staff post. Within a topic there should be an option to jump from staff post to staff post. Within a topic there should be a filter: Show staff posts only

I would like to suggest a way to hide a menu entry in the navigation bar for mobiles. I mean, there are sections or information that only look good in desktops but the menu entry is being displayed and cannot be hidden for mobiles. I prevent certain pages to be displayed in mobiles, because as you know, certain information like matrix of data, etc, doesn't look good. However, if the data is hidden to mobiles and the menu entry is still available in the navigation bar, then users ask why the page is empty and displaying nothing. Thanks

Hey, I'd like to be able to set a social network image for each forum category/files category/articles category/page form the ACP. I saw there's the grid image for forums category that is not being used for social network. Sth like that should be enough. What do you think?

When a file category has the "Keep previous versions" setting enabled, admins and moderators will be presented with an option during a file upload to toggle keeping the previous versions. When a regular member does this, no such option is given and they are simply told the previous copies will be archived. I filed a support ticket thinking this must have been a bug, but IPS says it's made this way intentionally and that I should file this here for consideration. So here I am. Regular members should get this option presented to them as well because not all uploaders want their older copies of things kept even when the category has the setting enabled.

Just wondering if Invision should include the ability for developers to notify purchasers/subscribers that app/plugin X is "now UNSUPPORTED" or "support will expire at date X" as per this comment? This could be a real help for those of us who want to leave unsupported apps behind and plan for the future of their sites.

Hi, I really appreciated that as of IPS 4.2.2 broken member photos are replaced with the name of the user, improving the aesthetics of our community. However, on these cases, on the member's hover card, the image is still shown as a broken broken image. This is probably a small issue that you guys want to fix in the next release. At the moment, comments and reviews on file uploads can only be enabled or disabled at the category level. So either they're off entirely for everyone, or they're on for everyone. I think this is something that would be useful to have optional controls for on each individual file upload. Some people may prefer to use the comments and reviews, others may prefer to direct things toward an actual forum topic. They might also want to decide to disable one or both of these at some future point as well. In addition, it would also be nice if a file upload had an option somewhere to point to a topic after an upload has already been submitted, and to specify one dur…

Having this option for every user is great. My forum members have traditionally preferred to click through to last post. However I used a hack for years to do this but now use the built in settings. However is there the possibility to set a global default - at present it defaults to first post - so that I don't have to explain how to do it to about 10 members every week? 😄

Can Sketchfab be added to the auto-embed function? We have a lot of members that would love to have them shown in their posts. We had this in IPS 3.4 via the custom embed function but I don't think that exists in 4.x.

When you click the share icon on a post, the links under "Share on other sites" to twitter, reddit, and pinterest are http, not https. The rest are https. They should all be https.

In looking into this for some members who have asked to have their accounts deleted, I am surprised to find there's no native support for it in the package and no mention of this ability outside of a $20 plugin in the marketplace. Why has this not yet been made a native function of IPB itself? The desire to delete one's account from a service is becoming more and more common the more sites people realize they're on and don't want to be.

So you edit your page and open the block manager and drag out a block on your page. Go thru the effort of configuring the block. You finished editing and navigate to another page and realize that block doesn't appear on that page. Instead of manually repeating this process again, what would be cool is when the block manager is open add a new section "Recently Configured Blocks." You just drag it where you wish it to appear and voilà, the block is added and already configured. Or add a button next to the X on the block - that would copy it to a 'clipboard' that could appear at the top of the block manager.

I was trying to make a custom stream and have it show all forums except a select few but it's tedious if you have a lot of forums and there is no way to select all and then allow you to turn of one or two - it would be easier if we could pick entire categories and its children but that too is not an option.

I would like to have a global site sidebar option, where if enabled, the sidebar shows up everywhere its enabled to show. This way I can set widgets that I want to show up everyone in one place. On my site (https://tinybiggames.com) I have to set the same widgets in so many places and if I need to change something, I have to go to every location and make that change which get tedious. I've done this 3-5 times already today, arrrrrrrg. I guess something like a sidebar options page showing all the areas where a sidebar exists and you can tick if you want to use global sidebar everywhere or enable it for the specific one.

Each topic in my forum that has more than one page, including topics on this forum (which is 4.6 right?), throws multiple html errors due to the page having two instances of the keys used in the pagination, which are displayed at both the top and bottom of the topic. They only way I could correct those errors was to remove this code from the forums > front > topics > topic template. This is what scrolling topics with images in IPB looks like: (Tested with 1gbit/s internet connection <10ms latency) Why is this bad? Text + Images + Scrolling = Forum And this affects 3/3 of your product. (quickmath 😛) What i'm trying to say is that, new features are cool, we love them. But don't forget your roots, they need some love too. Reason for the scrolling/loading issues: IPB preloads the spacer.png file instead of the actual image, then it goes for the image itself. If you put a topic on post approval the wording should be different to when a single member is on post approval. With how it is it just leads to questions about why they are on post approval. The best solution would be to set a message as to why the topic is on post approval when enabling it, instead of using the default ‘Your content needs to be approved by a moderator’ which just makes out the member is in trouble.
