Hate to vent, but my forum died. Long time ago, but I kept it alive thinking that maybe somebody one day would take it over and restart the idea. But time has come, I don't want to pay another $40 for renewal. And here's where my problem started - turns out it is not that quite easy to cancel it. I heard about these gym subscriptions that are super difficult to resign and unless you block your Credit Card number and move out of the country, they will keep charging you no matter what. Please add an option allowing to set maximum number specific product can be purchased within single transaction. This is useful for services, e.g. server installation where in general you allow multiple purchases but only one at a time because single purchase is being linked to specific custom fields details.

It would be helpful to have "reactions" in private messages. This is a popular Facebook Messenger and text messaging feature that is used all the time. Someone sends a message and often times a simple "like" or heart or smiley face is better than words and creates closer to the conversation.

It seems like sub-forums within clubs would be fairly easy to implement because sub-forums already exist in other forums... And having sub-forums within clubs would dramatically expand the discussion options for club owners. Please let me show you an example: There is a groups Addon for Xenforo called Social Groups for Xenforo that works in a similar way to Invision clubs (see image below). Spammers like to fill the "About Me" section of their profiles with links, which hurts our SEO. I suggest some mechanism to prevent profiles from showing fields until first approve content is posted, or something like that.

Just some quick feedback - I have a site with many 1000's of images, and yet if I add the 'random' gallery feed sidebar block, it will pull from the same 20 or so images always (for all users, despite clearing cache etc). Settings are definitely correct to allow 'any' image regardless of rating/author. There would literally be tens of thousands of possibilities with this criteria, so it's too coincidental for every user to 'randomly' get the same tiny sample every time. And they then never change. (For example, one time you'll get one set of 10, the next time the other set of 10. then repeat). Is this a known bug, or a setting I'm missing to ensure random truly is c…

There is one setting to specify the file location of the Gallery Images under Files >> Storage Settings, however it appears that Gallery Categories and Gallery Category Albums are stored in different parent folders. Example: Files >> Storage Settings >> Gallery Images: /uploads Category images are stored under: /uploads/monthly_{yyyy}_{mm} Category Album images are stored under /uploads/gallery/album_{index} It would be beneficial to have this be consistent such that all gallery images are under one parent folder.

Discoverability in games is getting harder and harder. Our members use our site to funnel traffic to their own websites and game pages. They tend to get very large numbers of profile views, like tens of thousands. If I could make the "About Me" tab the default tab selected when the profile is viewed, more of those profile views would convert to clicks going to the URLs they are trying to promote. So they post images, videos, and blogs on our site, that leads to profile views, and that leads to more traffic for them.

IPS when designing and planning out new feature please consider making such new features more complete by allowing bulk changes in the ACP that users may wish to change to one or more areas. All too often new features are stored in a bitwise and there is no interface to effectuate a change en mass. At least for areas like Forums a new feature should include automatic inherence of a setting to all children making the change to a category that will set/reset to all sub forums is by far more ideal making a change to half dozen categories then making one one at a time in over a hundred forums. Or even if I am deep in to the settings of a forum a set of buttons …

We really like the fluid combined view option, but unless the respect pinned topics setting is set for the forum index fluid view, it doesn't respect them. As it's quite a different scenario between the 2 options, it would be good to have the option (per forum perhaps) to respect pinned topics for the combined view, even if it's not set for the full fluid view.

Bringing this feature request back to attention since I think it is quite valuable idea. It is possible to search by tag, yes but within search there are no tools for mass moderation available like in common forum view.

I have a site with over 80 people paying for a “product subscription”. I want to send the top ten users a little gift. How do I find out who they are without opening each user manually and checking the details. I am looking for highest-paying or longest running product subscription. (The Top Customers section in the Statistics doesn’t help me, as this is based on all sales, not just the product for supporting the site.)

When I have a tab open displaying a topic, sometimes I get a black banner at the bottom that says "John Doe has replied. Show reply." However clicking "Show Reply" does nothing visible because the reply it displays is further down the page, hidden offscreen. Shouldn't it scroll down the page in order to actually show the reply? Thanks!

My forum and I guess that many others, have members that pay a subscription or pay for specific products. There is no way for the administrator of an IPS forum to generate and download PDFs. I don't know about other countries, but in Spain and many other countries, my accountant will need to submit all invoices every quarter no matter what. There is NO WAY in IPS to download all invoices for a specific data range, or even generate them in PDF, etc. If IPS accepts payments, then it has to provide a way to download the legal invoices to be delivered to our accountants. I have hundreds of payments every quarter, and this is driving me crazy because there is nothing like…

Hello I would like to sell courses and mini-guides (not books). Is there any idea or method to prevent copying eg DRM (Digital Rights Management) or Watermark build an ecommerce app in IPS? Even if such an item is shared, you can easily track which user did it.

I have put this in a ticket but they adviced to put it in here so i do that A member of our forum have noticed that when you set a time for unlock a topic en you hide the topic the topic opens at the given time. But the topic don't show because it is still hidden. My suggestion is, why you don't make it so that when you put in a unlock time, and you hide it when you make the topic, thats it unlocks and showing at the same time. On our forum we make sometimes topics for the futher. There is then no reason to make the topic visible. So it is normal that you hide it, en for be sure we create a lock time to for in case the starter makes a mistake.

I was wondering if there will be any improvements to the cookie banner so we can offer clear unhindered choice ( REJECT ALL, ACCEPT and ACCEPT ALL), plus either CCPA and/or GDPR modes? How about adding a special forum type that can be used as a top feature that users can vote on, similar to how people can vote on questions and answers. This can be used as a top ten, top twenty, top whatever and the positions shift in an ajax fashion when voted on. Great for music, movies, games, books, toys, clothes, shoes, you name it. It would be an asset for user interaction and may even compel some people to register so they can vote. People love voting, that's why Ranker is so popular. The feature is already there after a fashion and just needs tweaking to make the adjustments for a top whatever. Thoughts?

Is it possible to somehow remove the votes that a topic with a voting system has? In my community I have seen an obvious bad practice to create accounts and vote against a product, however I do not have tools (or I do not know them) to remove these votes. Thanks in advance to the community for their responses. Here is clear evidence by date, time and IP address, accounts were created to make a negative vote.

I know that this question has been discussed for years. But with years follows new thoughts and changes in the world around us. I think that e.g. Matt’s input (below) from June 2020 as a reply to a post concerning the app poll of 2018 could do with an update.
